Can I get my calendar to deal in local time, ignoring time zones?

Can I tell my calendar to not change event times when I travel? I can tell Time Zone Support to use either my home time zone when on or my destination time zone when off, but I want to be able to enter and see local times when I am in either place. For example, if my home is LA and I have 1:00 pm meeting in NY, I don't want to have to enter it as being at 10:00 am before I leave!
If there is no way to do this, how can I contact Apple to ask them to give me this option?

Check Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Time Zone Support
"Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars.
When off, events will display according to the time zone of your current location."

You will have to restore the device from a backup on icloud. (this assumes you have backups turned on in settings>icloud)

I can't get iphone calendar entries to appear in ical. Also, my iphone has hung up on sycning calendars several times. Even the couple of times it has gone through it, nothing I enter on the iPhone goes into ical.

Mine also seems to be syncing iCal info o.k. from my phone. Tried it again today with several calendar entries and all showed up perfectly in iCal.
I have also been using the calendarcreator service for a while on my MBP and this shows up on the info pane for my iPhone and allows me to select it to sync with. I believe this is how my iPhone info is getting into iCal but I will confirm this again tonight.

Did you look in the Applications folder for Calendar? If it is there, remove the item that is in the Dock and replace it by dragging the Calendar application to the Dock.
If it is not there, did you have iCal located somewhere other than the Applications folder when you upgraded?

If you're trying to sync an iCloud calendar, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar on your iPhone and make sure you have selected your iCloud calendar as your default.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your calendar events are appearing in GMT on your calendar in Yosemite. This was a fix in iOS 8.2 for iCloud calendars. I would suggest that you make sure all of your devices are updated to the current software release to help resolve the issue.

Calendar app stuck on another time zone.

I left Nigeria for Kansas, U.S. that's 6 hours behind so I changed the time settings on my phone to KS time zone but the Calendar app on my 3GS doesn't seem to understand that. When I create an event for, say, 8 PM today (to be notified at that time), I get a notification at 2 PM today—6 hours before the intended time. It's like Calendar thinks I'm still in Nigeria. I've been all over Settings and I can't figure it out.
Any thoughts?

There is more than one place to change time. If you set the time to local, you need to go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>scroll down to the bottom under calendar and set the time zone support there for the local time zone.

BST, BDT: Bering Standard or Daylight Time
CST, CDT: Central Standard or Daylight Time
EST, EDT: Eastern Standard or Daylight Time
GMT: Greenwich Mean Time
HST, HDT: Alaska-Hawaii Standard Time or Daylight Time.
MST, MDT: Mountain Standard or Daylight Time

PST, PDT: Pacific Standard or Daylight Time
YST, YDT: Yukon Standard or Daylight Time
Since your's isn't one of these, I'm hoping this is in reference to the Web Agent's ORDWEBUTL package, in which case, you can use an offset from GMT instead. For example, here in New Hampshire, USA, we are 5 hours behind GMT, so the offset would be -5, while in France, it would be +1 as they are one hour in front of GMT. According to my Windows clock, Beijing is GMT +8. Of course, you'll have to figure daylight-savings time into the equation, if you have to deal with such changes.
