Can I pick up phones with my husband's name on contract and my name as pick up person?

Dear Users:
Hello there. My husband works 14 hour, and we have been needing new cell service for quite some time. We went on to bestbuy.com, and ordered the phones, along with the service. His name went on the contract, but my name went down as the pick up person, and we even used my credit card to pay. However, when we got the "ready to pick-up" email, it states that the person who is on the contract must be present for pickup. This is exactly what we were trying to avoid.
I called the store to ask about this policy, and was told "the person on the order has to pick it up" -- I'm on the order, he's on the contract -- but that's not what the pick up email has listed. We live about 30 mins from Best Buy, and I have a two year old I have to pick up from daycare before she and I head that way. It's a hassle to take a two year old ANYWHERE, so I want to make sure that I am not going to go there, and get turned away empty handed. Anyone have any advice? Since it is a new contract, we are unable to put me as an authorized user.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the primary account holder does need to be present to pick up any phone purchased as an upgrade or as part of a new line of service -- their signature is required to complete the transaction and activation of the device. Phones purchased at full retail price as replacement devices, however, can typically be picked up using Friends & Family pickup options.     I have a Mac at home and a Mac at work, both of which I keep sync'd with .Mac. I have a bluetooth adaptor on the Mac at home which I use to sync with my Sony Ericsson T637. If I put a bluetooth adaptor on the Mac at work, can I sync my phone with either Mac interchangeably? That is, if I sync my phone with my home Mac, then come to work and sync it with my work Mac, will iSync do the right thing? Will it realize that all the data is the same and not try to duplicate everything, even though it's syncing with a different computer?

    It's not a good idea, because the complexity of such synchronization events. While ideally you should be able to attach your other devices to any workstation and synchronize at any time - if each workstation is, in fact, kept up-to-date through .Mac - in reality, such data exchanges are not reliable.
    You are best advised to avoid any action which complicates an already relatively complex, limited and - at times - unstable and unreliable - technology. The best approach is to pick one workstation as a sort of 'synchronization server' to which all other devices are attached, either through USB, Bluetooth or, in the case of .Mac, wireless or terrestrial ethernet.

    Working on that now.  I'm just getting frustrated that everytime I run updates for the phone I end up with tech problems that I have to spend time solving as opposed to updates that actually improve my usage.  Now I will once again get to spend hours reloading my phone all for updates that didn't affect my usage in the first place.

    My 3GS is dying and it's synced to an older computer.  I have tons of datafiles as well as apps, music, text messages, etc. that I need to get moved to the new iphone4 I'm getting.  Then I need to move the sync to a newer computer so that I can sync the new phone and new computer.
    I understand how to get my apps to transfer to a new pc.  That's not the issue.  It's getting ALL the data from the 3GS to the 4 and then to a new computer.

    Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
    iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

    If the answer to the above question is "yes", FIRST, set up a backup of your new computer before you do anything else so the next time your computer breaks you will not be in the same situation. Backup solutions are numerous and inexpensive, and there is absolutely no excuse in the Third Millennium not to have one.

    You can only obtain warranty OR post warranty service in the country of original purchase
    As your iPhone has user damage it has no warranty
    IF the iPhone originated from Spain or another EU country you can get out of warranty service in any EU country

    Impossible to say without more details. Is the iPhone locked to a carrier, and if so are you using a SIM from that carrier? If you believe that the iPhone is not carrier-locked, where did you purchase the iPhone and was it sold unlocked or did you get a previous carrier to unlock it? And are you using a SIM from a carrier that officially supports the iPhone?
    People will need much more specific information about your issue before anyone can offer suggestions.

    I upgraded my iPhone 4 last evening to iOS 6, the upgrade completed and the device was usable. Then in the morning I went to the device to check E-mail, Voice Messages, Test Messages, etc... and the phone was dead. I tried plugging the device into a charger (for a couple of hours) - still dead. Plugged into computer with iTunes, device not recognized or discovered, and iPhone was still dead... Took the iPhone into an Apple Store and the Technician looked it over for any visible signs of defect/malfunction, then performed various tasks to breathe life into the phone - nothing... His suggestion, at this point, was to replace the phone. He speculated that the iOS upgrade possibly corrupted the iPhone's charging firmware, and that this device was now a BRICK. Keep in mind that the phone and it's charging abilities were perfectly fine prior to the iOS Upgrade. I hate to go through the replacement hassle and the cost ($159.00) when the iOS upgrade caused the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!

    No, you can't sync them over BT. If your contacts are all in your GMail account, you can set up your Gmail on your iPad as an Exchange account and get the contacts that way.

    What version of OSX are you using?
    What version of iTunes are you using for syncing purposes?
    What model of phone are you using and what software version is installed on it?
    Try to better articulate the steps you are performing and the warnings that you are encountering.

    After reviewing several more suggestions, I found a YouTube video that described the issue and resolved it by cleaning the dock connector. I was skeptical, but I had noticed that immediatly after charging or using my dock that the audio would be back temporarily. After cleaning the dock port, the issue appeared to be resolved temporarily, but appears to have returned again. I will clean it well and then test again to see if it resolves the issue permanantly. So far this seems to have provided the best result.
