Can I run gcc compiled programs in the terminal?
I compiled a simple C program in the terminal using gcc 4.0 from the Xcode 2.2 distribution. I used gcc a.c at the command line and the compiler produced a.out. When I type a.out at the command line, I get the message
tcsh: a.out: Command not found.
Am I missing a step in the comilation phase? Is it possible to run gcc compiled programs in the terminal? I get the same results in the bash shell and when using X11.
eMac G4 Mac OS X (10.4.6)
./a.out is correct. Your current directory in not in your $PATH. You could add "." to the PATH, but that is considered a security compromise, because an unexpected command could be introduced either maliciously or inadvertently. (I have seen this happen.)

Yes. But.
You will need some kind of software environment such as Boot Camp (free from Apple) or Parallels. Then you will need to buy and install Windoze.

I'm trying to build lib32-libxkbcommon 0.5.0-1 from AUR with makepkg. I already tried installing pacman (setting the default makepkg.conf) and multilib-devel with no luck.

In that case you should probably check that no other packages are missing files with
pacman -Qkk 2>&1 | grep "No such file or directory"
Any packages that report that they're missing files, you should reinstall. -

I am first time java programmer I can not run or compile any java programme.
(can not read
1 error) this is the the message that I am getting from my doshttp://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/getStarted/cupojava/index.html
Try the tutorial.
It sounds like your error message comes from compiling. For example, "javac mysourcecode.java" If that is correct, the most common trouble comes from using a program like Notepad on Windows to create the soruce code. The tutorial will walk your through it. -

How can I run 2 Dreamweaver windows at the same time?
How can I run 2 Dreamweaver windows at the same time on my
PC?
basically I have 2 monitors and I want to edit CSS on one
monitor and have the html page open on the other so I can quickly
look from one to another with in a split second instead of taking
that extra time to switch back and forth using the tabs at the top,
I know I should probably invest into a mac so i can work out side
of the Dreamweaver application window and I will in the future but
is there any way i can do this on my windows XP pro PC?
Thank you
MauriceOpen the CSS in DW, and use F10 to open the Code Inspector.
Place the
latter as needed.

Can I run a CLDC app on the toolkit ?
Hi,
How can I run a CLDC app on the Sun Java Wireless Toolkit? All the documentation seems to talk about running MIDlets only.
-SankarWell I've never heard of 'VirtualDVD', but I've used MTR on this MBP. PPC apps will run on the Intel machines using the Rosetta emulation. This process is invisble to the user, and while there is a performance hit, frankly, I've yet to notice anything significant.
What will not run on the Intel machines are Classic apps.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, I can't run Mail and Safari at the same time.
Since upgrading to Mavericks, I can't run Mail and Safari at the same time.
Either Mail will crash or the iMac will run so slowly as to be unusable. With both running, the HDD spins constantly at a high rate of speed.Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful. -

[Solved] Launching Graphical Programs From The Terminal
Occasionally I launch graphical programs from the terminal and they usually spit out what they're doing in the background, I know you can send this output to /dev/null but is there a way to have that is the default setting (ex. not having to type &> /dev/null each time) and then somehow turn console output back on when I want to debug something? I tried creating an alias but that didn't work.
