Can i set up iphone 4s to only fetch email when connected to wi-fi?

I know that there are settings that can require mail to be retrieved manually from a mail server, but I was wondering if there is a way to get mail only when connected to wi-fi.

Your best bet is to manually check for mail when you're connected to wifi.
Your other option is to turn off data usage altogether and only use wifi.
settings> general> network

Only receiving email when connected to computer

I cannot receive any emails when I am not connected to the computer where the BB software has been installed. I'm a new user...so this might be a simple fix?

No, there are several places on the internet that can change the battery for you or buy a battery and do it yourself.
A couple quick searches...
www.ipodjuice.com $45 to have them change the battery.
www.iresq.com $63 to have them change it.
I think both of those include shipping back and forth.
That seems like a lot of money for a 2nd gen Nano. You can buy a battery alone for about $10-20 and do it yourself. If you are not comfortable doing that, then probably a better option is to spend $99 and get a refurbished 3rd Generation Nano.

Im always having this problem on internet signal constantly disconnecting due to lte and 3g signal change. I was wondering if there's a way to just set my phone to just lock on only lte signal. No, because if you are in an area where you cannot get LTE reception, then you are left with no reception at all rather than 3g or some reception of some description and this is what would happen if you could lock onto LTE and this is why you can't.
You can keep LTE switched on for your phone and then it will use it and pick it up in the areas that it is available.

I can see a lot of people complaining about adhoc password entry when using email but nothing where people actually want to be prompted for a password. If I have multiple email accounts and a phone where others can pick up and enter the top level security 4 digit number, I would like one of the email accounts to be slightly more secure than the others, hence need it to prompt for a password. Does anybody have any ideas how I can do this?

I was upgrading my OS system thru iTunes but the plug on my macbook came out and battery ran flat half way thru. This jammed my iPhone 4.
I think it's to do with the OS system. That if i take it to the previous OS system it might work. But since i'm in phone set up mode i can't get into general setting to change it back.
So can i set it up as a new phone and then use icloud to restore info? Or shld i set it up thru iTunes and then iCloud (but since it jammed half way thru upgrading and i've restored i don't think iTunes has any of my previous info)? Or is there something else i can do?

No. You can set up as a new device or restore from iCloud or iTunes. It looks like you backed up with iTunes, so you can't restore with iCloud. To backup your device in iCloud, go to Settings > iCloud and activate it

To do that you need to be using an IMAP type email account rather than a POP type. Check with your email provider to see if they provide this service and, if so, switch to it on all your devices.

As the question asks, how can I set the program to automatically add new email address from messages to my address book. Other email programs can be set up to do this. If this can't be done in Firefox, why not. It's the best email program otherwise.

First off Firefox is an Internet browser and does not deal with email addresses or have an address book to add them to. Secondly I cannot think of a good reason to add the address of each piece of spam to the Thunderbird address book.
There are addons that will pick out addresses from incoming email and add them to the Thunderbird address book. I suggest you search through the add on list for one that fits your needs.
