Can i stop iphoto launching every time i connect my iPhone?
Hi,
Is there anyway i can stop iPhoto launching when i connect my iPhone to my Mac?
It's driving me nuts!
I don't use it for images and have no need for iphoto to launch.
Many thanks.
Solved, thanks!
The image capture solution works best because i still want iPhoto to launch when i connect my camera.

How do I stop iPhoto loading every time I connect my iPhone
Hi - I have just got the new iPhone and every time I connect it to the mac, it opens iPhotos. How do I stop this?
NApplications>Image Capture>Preferences>When camera attached load>no application
-
Image Capture launches every time I connect my iPhone or iPad to my MacBook Pro.
Is there a way to disable this? There doesn't seem to be a Preferences pane for it.
Thanks for the reply. It was already set to No application. But since launching iPhoto and choosing the preferences, then closing iPhoto, Image Capture no longer launches.

Every time I connect my iPhone 4 to my computer to sync, iTunes stops responding. I need to shut it down and restsrt to access iTunes. I have removed and redownloaded iTunes and the problem continues.
Try disconnect your computer from the internet and see if you can open iTunes and connect your device without crash.
if iTunes does open without crash, go to iTunes Menu Edit > Preferences, "Advanced" tab and click the "Reset Cache" button, OK.
Close your iTunes.
Now, use Windows Explorer to delete the contents of Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Download
You may now re-connect your internet then see if you can open iTunes and connect your device without issues. -
Every time I connect my iPhone 4s to iTunes on my Mac, it tries to set up my phone as a new one/restore from back up. I have it all set up already, but it keeps appearing. What do I need to do to stop this?
Hello there, deelish.
A great Knowledge Base article that has some valid information is:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
The pertinent section for you would be:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities!

Okay, so my friends think it is funny to change the passcode on my iPhone.
Maybe you should get new friends.
I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.
iCloud: Erase your device - Apple Support
This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone. -
Wrongly posted in iPhoto forum, should probably be posted here instead.
I want to remove the message that pops up every time i connect my IPhone that says: "Photos in the Camera Roll of "Name" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.".
This computer is not one that I want to import photos to (or sync with the iPhone), so this message is just very annoying, and it pops up all the time. I cannot find a way to disable this message. It is constantly appearing. No application is launching, I have turned off the iPhoto launch in the Image Capture app as well as in iPhoto. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information about this.Because your computer sees your phone, as it would see any digital camera, as long as you have photos in your camera role. Since you state you don't sync with this computer & have a passcode on your phone, that's why you get that message. The only way to prevent that message is either start syncing with this computer; remove the photos from your camera roll prior to connecting; or first turn off your passcode before you connect. Either that, or you live with it.
You shouldn't be storing photos in your camera roll anyway. iPhone camera roll is not designed for photo storage. You should be regularly importing them. -
Every time i connect my iphone to itunes and trying to do a backup or get the new update it says i have to restore my iphone. and then that doesnt work, i tried to reinstall itunes but it doesnt work. i get this all the time. fix it please.
iTunes states " There's a problem with your Iphone, please contact apple service center " Also i took my iphone to a local service man and he told me the IMEI code has been corrupted and there's nothing that can be done about it. Please help, if you have any solution.
Thank you -
every time I connect my iphone 4 to itunes it wants to either restore from backup or set up as a new phone. I've restored it 5 times already, i don't want to lose any of my data. Any ideas?
I had the same issue. Tried unplugging whilst it was restoring about 5 times - didnt work. I ended up clicking "set up as new iphone" and TADA it worked. I can now edit on itunes. I do however have every single app I've EVER downloaded on my phone. Apple should really make it so they go back on exactly how they were before!

I got this message every time i connect my iphone to itunes.. said 'iTunes was unable to load provider data from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later.' so please help me to solve out this problem..
In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you also worked through the following document?
iTunes for Windows: "Unable to load data class" or "Unable to load provider data" sync services alert -
Every time I connect my IPhone 5s to the computer it comes up as a new phone ,even know I have synced it to the computer before and it worked fine
I would try 2 things. First, I would de-authorise the computer, then authorise it again. If that doesn't work, then second, you could try uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling.

Why does iphoto open every time i connect my kodak playsport camcorder?
Please help every time i connect my kodak playsport camcorder to imovie it opens iphoto and i really dont know how to just upload my video into imovie please help .thanks
The longer question though, which I placed on another thread in another forum, was why has the system stopped working as it used to? I have an iMac running OS10.4 and iLife 08, and a PowerBookPro running OS10.6 and iLife 09 and on both of them I have connected up the camera in the past and edited using iMovie without any problem. What's changed that now means `I have to faff around using another program when I have always been able, before, to capture straight from the camera?
In specific response to your reply, my video files, when I do a straight transfer from the camera onto the desk top, show up as .mod and .moi files, not MPEG2. But they won't then open in iMovie. -
Every time I plug my iphone into my MacBook, it refuses to sync and download photos etc. This has been happening for a month. I tried to upgrade itunes yesterday and ended up in a mess. It wouldn't stay connected to internet, then the iphone was left with a screen with the 'itunes icon of 2 notes in a blue circle, then under it the white connection lead". Each time I plugged it back in to my lap top, it refused internet access. A friend "restored" my iphone from scratch today and I have lost all my contacts. My photos are still there which is amazing. I now am trying to download my precious photos so I dont loose them again. It still refuses to sync and only offers me "quit" as an option. My phone in 3G and I have a MacBook lap top. Any help very much appreciated. I rang the apple help line but I dodn't really understand what he told me. I am almost computer illiterate (too old to understand all this technology). Thank you.
When was the last time you did an update on your iphone? That might be the problem. BTW which OS are you running on your MacBook?

Toshiba Power saver may be the problem
My Satellite A665-S6050 has had all of the symptoms you read about in these forums; crash, freeze, hung, locked, BSOD, Windows crash errors, etc. I bought the laptop new a couple years ago and both love it and hate it when it exhibits its freezing

Scheduling the report from Infoview portal does not show up data
"The crystal report is based on a SAP BI query. The parameters of the report are basically the parameters(SAP variables) of the SAP BI query. When we run the crystal report in the CR Report Designer tool, it runs fine showing all the data correctly.
