Can I use oracle blob by CMP bean in weblogic 6?

I use weblogic 6.1(sp3) and Jbuilder 7.when I try to use oracle blob by CMP bean,the
errors are:
javax.ejb.FinderException: Exception raised in findByPrimaryKey
java.io.StreamCorruptedException: InputStream does not contain a serialized object
What should I do?Is there examples about using oracle blob?

According to License Terms on OTN, you can has limited license to use the programs only for the purpose of developing, testing, prototyping and demonstrating your application, and not for any other purpose. So it sounds to me if this is purely for learning and internal use without commercial and production purpose, you don't have to pay. But Oracle and it's sales rep will have the final words. Yes you can forward requests from your own apache to the iAS. This can be done using mod_proxy. Some hints about how to do this are availlable on this forum.
mod_oc4j is not a standard apache module, and therefore is not availlable when you download apache. There is no apparent reason to use mod_oc4j on a "regular" webserver (unless you want to build your own iAS). Also there might be some licenseing issues with using mod_oc4j module on a standard apache.
You can encrypt data that is passed from a random Apache to you iAS.

Each time when you start your computer, you need to restart Oracle as well, its only with Windows XP. The process you have to follow each time is:
Start -->Run and then type CMD to open command prompt.
In command prompt type
svrmgrl and then press
connect internal/oracle and then press
startup force and then press

I tried disabling MTS. That doesnt look to work. Somehow 8i drivers are working in a distributed transaction mode by default. I resolved configuring 8i drivers as not to use distributed mode and works fine for me.
For other who had this same kind of errors Solution is :
Disable distribution transaction off if you are managing manual transactions from your scripts. Example: connectstring= DNS=...;"DistribTx=0.

While Install password filter, I use 'sAMAccountName' as Source Attribute (Microsoft Active Directory) and 'orclSAMAccountName' as Target Attribute (Oracle Internet Directory) instead of using objectGUID.

Can I use UserTransaction within a CMP Session bean?

Basically the problem is as follow:
I have the following method in a Statefull session bean:
public Whatever do()
processSomething();
notify();
the notify() basically notifying the client that then query for the something that was processed in the processSomething() method.
THE PROBLEM is that the changes have not been committed yet as the do() method is not finished yet and the container has not committed the changes.
THE QUESTION is - can I use UserTransaction inside
processSomething to commit the changes and leave the bean as CMP? I want to leave it as CMP as there are more methods on the bean and I don't want to have to manage the transactions for them.
Anyone has any other ideas?

The EJB specs say that a stateful Session Bean with CMT is NOT allowed to use the UserTransaction; see page 361 of the EJB2.0 specification. So combining them will not (or should not) work.
I suggest CMT+SessionSynchronization combined with using a flag to indicate whether notify should be called or not. Otherwise, you could try splitting up the bean into two beans: one with CMT and another one without. The one without CMT could use the UserTransaction and notify.

I'm trying to store some images in a database (Oracle 9i) using CMP Beans and Oracle iAS 9.03 and jdk 1.4.

I have a requirment from one of our client that they want to manage a large amount of Images,by seeing the documents about the oracle interMedia we got some idea to manage this images ,but the client is alredy having a software which is been developed by Oracle forms9i and we need to develope this using oracle forms9i can anyone give us an idea that how can we make use of InterMedia through Oracle forms9i ....

I am also trying to use interMedia objects with Oracle 9i forms. I've tried everything and I can't get it to work.
So far I have a solution that loads images using WebUtil into a blob field in Forms 9i, then in a backend stored procedure I move the blob to an interMedia object. Which works, but the problem with the image item in Oracle forms is that the image format cannot be change at runtime, so the images will always be what you set at design time.
Can someone out there please help.
