Can Java Servlets Access the Request's URL Fragment Identifier

As per RFC 1808 section 2.4.1 (if that is the right one to reference here):
"If the parse string contains a crosshatch "#" character, then the substring after the first (left-most) crosshatch "#" and up to the end of the parse string is the <fragment> identifier. If the crosshatch is the last character, or no crosshatch is present, then the fragment identifier is empty. The matched substring, including the crosshatch character, is removed from the parse string before continuing.
Note that the fragment identifier is not considered part of the URL. However, since it is often attached to the URL, parsers must be able to recognize and set aside fragment identifiers as part of the process."
I've noticed using Servlets, that I cannot get the fragment identifier that was used in the incoming URL. Is this intentional? And if so, where is that defined in the Servlet spec or documentation? If not, what is the appropriate way to get the fragment identifier from the incoming request?
I have noticed that when I send a redirect from a Servlet, that the fragment identifier ends up on the destination URL when the redirect is followed by a browser. But, absent a packet tracer at the moment, this, I believe, is the browser's doing and wasn't part of the Servlet's response.

  • Can java servlet filter capture anchors in URL

Hi I need to capture the anchor in the URL that is requested by user. For example, if some one clicks http://www.abc.com/somepage.html#intro, I would like to capture all the info in the URL including "intro". Is it possible through the java servlet filter architecture? If so, what API should I use? Some sample code would be very helpful as well. Thanks!!

No, this is not possible. Anchors are handled by the client (i.e. web browser). The server never sees them.

Or there wont be such situation because there are separate schema for ABAP stack and Java stack?

    Hello!
A while ago I was a subject to criticism too for not granting points to helpfull answers. I appeared to be ungratefull, but I'm actually not (I guess the same goes for Vincent). I absolutely agree that good people who provide helpfull answers deserve (at least) points, but I didn't quite get the whole idea with points untill I was explicitly warned. I took some time to correct this and I granted points for all my past questions, generously, with "interest rates" for waiting.
    My point is:
The pointing system is good, but unintuitive and not documented. I suggested this at that time, and I see that nothing has changed since. I see also that I'm not the only one who has experienced missunderstandings.
I repeat the message to SDN people: Please provide some info on pointing system! A few sentences behind a "What's this?" link would do. It's not such a hard work.
    Thanks!
    Kind regards,

  • When a Safari download is interrupted, I get the message "You do not have permission to access the requested resource" when I try to restart it.

I have had this issue with my Macbook Pro ever since I bought it in November.  If I start downloading a file with Safari, and the download gets interrupted, I am unable to resume downloading from the point where it was interrupted.  Clicking on "resume downloading" button in the downloads list works fine it I do it immediately after the download is interrupted, but if a little time has elapsed (as little as a few minutes) since the interruption it will not let me resume the download, and I get the message in the downloads list "You do not have permission to access the requested resource."  I have repaired my permissions...I don't know what else to do.  Here's my system configuration:
    Macbook Pro Mid-2012 Retina Display
    2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB RAM
    System 10.8.2
I just have to editorialize for a moment:  My old Macbook Pro and my Mac Pro both worked great with Snow Leopard, but since upgrading the Mac Pro to Mountain Lion and buying the new Macbook I have had all kinds of issues like this.  Tech support at Panic software, that I contacted because of issues with some of their software, told me that I was only one of many with Mountain Lion issues, but here we're over half a year since the release of 10.8 and we're only on system 10.8.2.  Is anybody at Apple actually trying to fix the issues?
Thanks for anything you can tell me!

  • ITunes Get Artwork:  "Artwork for [album name] cannot be found.  You do not have permission to access the requested resource."

I just installed iTunes 10.5 (latest version as of 11 Jan 2012), onto a computer running Windows 7 Ultimate x64.  I loaded my music library into it, it compiled the list and separated them by album.  But even though I'd assigned most of the albums artwork through my Zune management software (a Microsoft product), almost none of them populated into iTunes.  So I went through and started asking the software to try to find album artwork where possible.
I did this a few times album by album, then I decided to select multiple albums and see what happened.  No problems.  Then I selected all of the albums I had--about 600 in all--and asked it to get artwork.  It seemed to process for a bit, then came back with the error, "Artwork for [album name] could not be located.  You do not have permission to access the requested resource."  I tried this on several individual albums, only to receive that same error.
The very first time I did it, I was told I needed an account with the iTunes store to make it work, so I signed in using an old Apple ID (the account had been inactive for so long it had been locked for security, I unlocked it and that seemed to be that).  Then I did what I described above.
The weird thing--to me--is that I can still add artwork to the albums manually if I want to, from imagery stored locally on my own computer.  The only thing it seems to have a problem with is when I ask it to go find artwork from the iTunes store.
Do I need to uninstall iTunes and then reinstall it?  Did something go wrong with the process of authorizing the computer to work with the iTunes store?  Do I need to de-authorize and then re-authorize the computer?  Could this be something related to Windows permissions on the iTunes library?

Right on about how to reset the warnings, it was exactly that.
I went through the steps to let iTunes through Windows Firewall, but still get the same problem when I access the iTunes store (and even though I followed the steps in the help file to the letter, I notice it still says iTunes is NOT enabled for it).  And now, thanks to the re-enabled warnings, when I try to get it to download artwork for single albums, this is what I get:
"Artwork for [album name] could not be found.  An unknown error occurred (-50)."
New results from the diagnostics too:

  • Home Sharing Problem: "You do not have permission to access the requested resource"

This problem has been posted numerous times here with not one single answer that I can find. Not only does it take about fifteen minutes for Home Sharing to load on my iPad, once it does load I get the "You do not have permission to access the requested resource" when I try to play any video. I've tried resetting everything. Even home videos won't play via Home Sharing. Is there a known bug that someone can tell me about? Or is Home Sharing on iPad just broken.
Possibly related: videos that play on my iPhone on Facebook won't play on my iPad. The iPad is newer and more powerful, you think it would be the other way around. I have never used a jail break on anything. I have never installed any kind of security software.
iPhone 4, iPad 3, mid-2010 27" iMac, Airport Extreme all on the same network with the same iCloud ID.

I have been having the same issues on all my iPads / iPhones and can't come up with much info either.
I just seemed to fix it by quitting the app on the device, changing my wifi network to the 5Ghz band and retrying. Loads quick and plays every time (for the last 5 minutes at least)
I did read that there is a bug, in that if you close down the app after you have watched the video(s) you won't get the "permission" error. Seems to be working.
Not super helpful but I feel your pain.

  • Updated to 10.4.1 on Itunes and now can no longer access the actual Itunes store ...

Now i have a bit more space, i can explain what is really properly wrong. The other day i updated my itunes to the 10.4.1 version and now can no longer access the Itunes store - whenever i try to do so i get the bar at the top gets to about half way then stops and nothing happens - on rare occasions however i am taken into a place that resembles the Itunes store but there is no detail and whenever i click on anything, NOTHING happens.
Now on a SUPER RARE occasion i'll get a notice that the request was timed out?
If ANYBODY can help me i'll be very grateful
    Matthew

Purple-Gecko...all that I can say is, "Boom!!!"  You are THE man/woman, whichever the case may be.
The "netsh winsock reset" command worked like a charm for my machine (running Windows XP SP3).  I have had two weeks of frustration with this issue and finally found your post which got me back online with the iTunes store.  My problem accessing the iTunes store began once I downloaded and installed iTunes 10.5 in preparation to upgrade to OS5.  Once 10.5 was installed, I could open iTunes and access everything except the store (which prevented any of my devices from being able to sync). I followed all of the suggestions that I could find in Apple Support and the suggestions that I was emailed from Apple's support techs.  I unistalled all Apple software and reinstalled iTunes multiple times, and still could not access the store.
Your suggestion is the only "cure" that I have found.
I thank you, my iPod thanks you, and my iPhone 4 thanks you for taking the time to post this fix.

  • Why can't I access the iTunes Store (iTunes 10.4.1)

Every time I launch the latest version of iTunes and click on iTunes Store, I get the error message "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. Anybody else have this problem? Suggestions anyone?

    Hi siddiqali,
According to the screenshot you posted above, the use account didn't have sufficient permission to open the report, please check the following prerequisites before you perform the action:
You must use a report definition (.rdl) file as a data source. Importing from a report model is not supported.
You must have permission to open the report under your Windows user account, and you must know the address of the report or the report server that hosts it. You can check your permissions by trying to open the report in a Web browser first.
If the report opens, it confirms that you have sufficient permissions and the correct URL.
Reporting Services must be version SQL Server 2008 R2 or SQL Server 2012. Those versions include the data feed export feature that streams report data in the XML data feed format. You can identify the report server by the Export as Data Feed option
that appears in the report toolbar when you open the report in browser:

  • We could not complete your iTunes Store request. You are not authorized to access the requested resource.

Over the past year, when using iTunes Radio on my iMac, I keep getting the following message: "We could not complete you iTunes Store request. You are not authorized to access the requested resource. There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later." This only happens on my Mac, not on my iPad.
I looked at the Apple Support Communities and the most common workaround is to click on Store/Authorize this Computer. After entering my Apple ID password, the response is "This computer is already authorized." Well, duh. But at least the iTunes Radio starts to work for awhile.
There are other workarounds, but none is easier than the one I just mentioned. But my question is, when will Apple fix this problem? It's just annoying.

    Hello there, TaylorGraphics.
Some users have seen resolution to this issue by logging out of the iTunes Store and then back in. The following Knowledge Base article provides a reference on how to do that:
Using an existing Apple ID with the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, and iBooks Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2589
Use your Apple ID with the iTunes Store
Open the latest version of iTunes.
    Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password and click Sign In.
Click Review when asked to review your information.
    Enter your billing information.
Click Continue after you enter your credit card and billing information. You can remove or edit your credit card information at any time. Learn more about updating your iTunes Store account information.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

I can't get iTunes Radio to work.  I get this error message, even when I'm signed in to iTunes:

    Anyone?
    thanks!
PS: I'm running 10.8.5 but for some reason this website won't let me display that and keeps changing it to 10.8.2.

Relaunched iTunes a few times, signed out, signed in, and it's finally working now.  Good grief.  But all's well.

Were you using Adobe Creative Cloud to download the application or the Adobe Download Manager? Was this a 'try before you buy' application?
