Can LabVIEW overlay a dial over an image?

I would like to overlay a dial on top of an image in LabVIEW.  It would be great if the dial could rotate about the center axis.  I included an attachment of what It would possibly look like.  Please let me know if any of you know how to do this.
Thank you!

You need to set the other items on a normal dial to transparent and place it on top the image.

    How can I overlay a textfield over an imported picture?

    Apologies, been trying all afternoon and then a couple of minutes after posting, I figured it out. Using a property node for the Scenemesh reference, I set the property TextureGenMode to Spherical and it appears to now display the texture on the mesh.

  • Can LabVIEW process images in RAW format? Can LabVIEW handle images in the multimegapixel formats produced by some of the current DSLR cameras (e.g. 5000x3500 pixels)?

    Can LabVIEW process images in RAW format?  Can LabVIEW handle images in the multimegapixel formats produced by some of the current DSLR cameras (e.g. 5000x3500 pixels)?
    Can LabVIEW be programmed to remotely acquire images from a commercial DSLR camera with DirectShow capability?  e.g. Canon Rebel T2i.

    1) So RAW files have a multitude of possible file extensions / formats, and it depends on which of these extensions you use. If the image can fit in memory, it can be brought into LabVIEW. An image of that size should be able to come into LabVIEW. Are you considering using NI-Vision to do this? You would look into the VI called "IMAQ ReadFile." There are a certain set of standard formats that can be read.
    2) If a camera is DirectShow capable, and there are USB drivers available to access that camera through a Windows machine, then you should be able to bring that camera up in NI's software such as LabVIEW.

  • How to overlay an circle to an image?

    If I already have the center and the radius of the circle, how can I overlay it on an exiting image due to it's center position?
    Can I overlay it with color or thickness (like a ring)?

    The Draw Circle by Radius.vi should do what you need.  There are a variety of options for pen color and width in the "pen" cluster.  You can even do dashed and dotted lines.

  • How can I place a custom table over an image?

    I have a graphic embedded in the Master Page at the start of every chapter like this.
    I created a borderless Custom Table without the data that I want to place over the image so it looks like the text is typed on the notebook paper. I apparently can't add this to the Master Page, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this on the Body Page either. The table is the same as in my previous question but included here again for reference. While the borders are evident here, I will turn them off when I get this placed. The merged cells are for graphics that will change every Lesson. Appreciating this forum as always. Someday I hope I have enough knowledge to help other people here...
    Thanks,
    Laurie

    Laurie,
    You need to have a text frame over the area that you want your table to appear. On the Master Page, use the graphics tools to draw the text frame (Body not Background type) where you need it. Then on the Body pages insert the table. You may need to play with the positioning of the graphic on the Master Page and perhaps use the Format > Page Layout > Line Layout > Baseline Synchronization option as well as the Table Row Height properties to get things to properly align.

  • How do you set up so that you can view the alternate text on an image when you hover over it like you do in IE?

    Using Mozilla at present the alternate text for an image does not pop up when you hover your mouse over the image. This is what occurs in Internet Explorer. In Mozilla Firefox you have to right click, choose Properties and then you can view the alternate text. Is there a way to set up the mouse hover? Or is there a keyboard shortcut to at least view the Properties information of an image on a webpage quicker?

    The Alt attribute isn't meant to show as a tooltip on hover.
    The Alt attribute is meant to show if the image isn't or can't be displayed.
    The title attribute is meant to show if you hover an image or link.

    Apple Mail isn't going to change the format of any of your attachments. it isn't going to corrupt them either.
    Exchange is a transport protocol and server. The issue you describe is not related to Exchange.
    There are many different versions of Microsoft Outlook in use and they all have e-mail bugs. Different versions have different bugs. Some Apple Mail hack to get around a bug in Outlook 2003 may cause the same message to be problematic in Outlook 2000. Fix them both and another issue will cause trouble in Outlook 2007. You can't fix this. Apple can't fix this. Microsoft can and has but that is irrelevant if your recipients are using older versions.
    One specific problem is that Apple Mail always sends image attachments inline, as images, not as iconized files. You can change this with Attachment Tamer. Just be aware that use of this software will break other things such as Stationery. E-mail is just a disaster. To date, no one outside of Apple has ever implemented the e-mail standards from 1993. Apple has continually changed its e-mail software to be more compatible with the de-facto standards that Netscape and Microsoft have unilaterally defined and people documented as "standards" after the fact. The e-mail messages that Apple Mail sends are 100% correct and do not violate any of the original standards from 1993 or the Microsoft/Netscape modifications. The problem is entirely bugs and limitations in various versions of Outlook.

    It depends, but it could either be the Grid or Pixel Grid under View>Show.

  • Can texturiser filters be applied without the tiling grid effect over an image?

    i am working with fairly small images, 30 x 20 centimeters ...12 x 8 inches... @ 300 dpi...and want to apply the Canvas Texturiser filter over the image.  but when i do the texture comes up as a grid-like tiled surface which looks very unprofessional.  i have had a bit of a play with the scaling of the effect in the dialogue window but the tiling effect still comes up.  can this be over-ridden so the texture i want can be applied to look like one large canvas texture?  i can provide an example if necessary.

  • Why can't I draw over imported images?

    If someone could explain to me (in simple terms-I've only been using flash since friday and I don't know the names ofthings properly yet) why I can't draw over impoted images? I've animated something on paper and scanned in the frames. When I import them to flash it either deletes the line as soon as I draw it, or if I create a new layer the drawing stays in all frames, not just one. Pllllllease help, I'm desperate!

    When you create a new layer, you can use keyframes to display the image in just one frame. Add a keyframe just after the frame where the image should not be displayed. So rightclick in that frame, and click add keyframe. Then in the new keyframe you can remove the image.
    I believe you can use Flash to convert bitmap images to vector images, but I haven't used that function since Flash 2, so I don't know if that still exists. The result might be useless though if the images is too complex. But if it's okay, then you can edit the image itself. Otherwise draw on a layer on top of the image.

    Seriously the best way to do that is using a css background image on an 'anchor' tag. When you hover over the anchor tag the background image is swapped to a lighter one.
    #header a {
    background-image: url(pathToYourBgImage);
    backround-repeat: no-repeat;
    #header a:hover: url(pathToYourBgHoverImage);

  • How can I do to convert a ".PNG" image file to a ".JPG" or ".BMP" one?

    My problem is to save an image (after processing and with overlay information!) to a standard file (JPG, BMP, ...); if I do it directly with the related VI's, the overlay information is lost; I can save the image in a ".PNG" file, which contains the complete information with overlay, but is not displayable on a LabView-less PC ! How can I do?
    Thank you for your prompt answers.
    Francois

    Hello Francois,
    As you noted, BMP and JPG file formats do not support overlay information. There are two approaches to your problem.
    1. Write to PNG file. PNG is not a LabVIEW specific file format. It cannot, however, be read by simple programs such as Windows Paint. Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop, among other more robust image viewing and editing programs can handle PNG files that LabVIEW generates.
    2. Flatten the overlay information into the main image before writing to BMP or JPG. I don't believe this functionality is built-in to LabVIEW, so this would require some programming, perhaps quite difficult. That is why LabVIEW supports PNG files.

  • Can I center 2 divs over each other??

    OK, I've built a website completely in Flash and I'm trying
    to lay it out with dreamweaver so that when viewed on 800x640
    resolution maxed browser window it will fit snug without any
    horizontal scrollbar (the SWF's is fit to this standard); and when
    viewed on 1024x768 maxed window it will be centered in the window
    PLUS have a background on either side (So this background should
    not appear in the 800x640 window). If that isn't clear compare
    http://www.gamespot.com.
    Right so my idea was just to put the SWF in a div and this
    background PNG in a div and center them both, while making the PNG
    width=100%.
    Well that doesn't seem to work. I guess you can't center two
    divs over each other?? The only way I can make one overlay on the
    other is by giving it an absolute position, but then of course it
    isn't centered any more.
    Any suggestions?

    Well, no, that's not what I meant.
    Background images don't do 100%. Using CSS like this -
    body { background-repeat:no-repeat;
    background-position:center; }
    will a) prevent the image from tiling, and b) will place it
    in the center of
    any size viewport. Is that what you wanted?

  • Aperture busy for 3 days trying to import over 1000 images

    I am trying to import over 1000 images, and Aperture is showing busy with the colorful dial since 3 days ago.
    How can I check the import log to ensure it is busy working and not stuck?

    First, sign out of MobileMe from your System Preferences, the "Mobile Me" tab.
    Press the "Sign out" button.
    Then launch Aperture again. If you still see the "MobileMe" panel, press the "Learn More" button, not the o.k. button. Ignore the web page tat will open.
    In Aperture go to the File menu > Web Accounts > Edit Web Accounts.
    Delete the MobileMe account.
    Now you should be able to find the project (partially) downloaded from Mobile Me in the Library Inspector panel. This will have MobileMe in the name. Trash it.

  • T2i suddenly produces way over exposed images

    About four years ago my friend bought the T2i with the 100 to 400 lens and the 1.4 extender. Until recently he loved that rig, but it suddenly started producing way over exposed images. He adjusted the exposure comp to two stops under exposed but still way to light. I should mention that he is a wildlife photographer and his equipment takes quite a beating. The camera has probably produced tens of thousands of images. He also is not on line. Any ideas that you may have that I can pass along to him? Thanks Chris

    Ask your friend to manually set the Av to f/16... then while looking through the viewfinder, press the depth-of-field preview button.  This is the small button located on the front of the camera body just slightly below the lens-release button. If the lens and camera are working correctly, the aperture blades should be fully-retracted while looking through the camera, but when you press the DoF Preview button, the blades should constrict down to the f/16 aperture you dialed in.   The view through the viewfinder should suddenly become NOTICEABLY darker. If your lens aperture blades are not working, then it could explain why you'd have heavily over-exposed images even when dialing in exposure compensation. Try this with and without the extender. If the lens works as long as the teleextender is not being used (lens direct attached to body) then you've got a problem with the extender.  It has electronic contacts that are supposed to pass communication through to the body.  Contacts on the body-facing side should be gold coated plates.  Contacts on the lens-facing side should be gold plated pins (which are springy -- make sure you can press them and they spring back out -- nothing should be jammed.)   You can try cleaning but do NOT use anything abrassive (dont' use a pencil eraser, for example... that gold plating is thin and you'll take the plating off.)  Clean only with a soft cloth.  You can lightly moisten it if you want.    It's also possible the fault is inside and not related to the contacts. Also try a different lens.  If this only happens with this particular combination, then you've got a problem with the extender or lens or the extender.  If it happens regardless of what lens you use then you probably have a problem with the camera body.
