This code doesn't work on my phone but it works on emulator. What should the reason be? What should I do?

The problem might be becoz of the NAT (Network Address Tranlation). Coz if your server is behind some NAT then, your mobile ll get an ip that all other mobile conneted to that server througth that specific service provider.
In short, using socketConnection to connect a server, if the server is behind a NAT then all the mobile client connecting to that server ll get same ip, so server dont know to which ip it shold send the response.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

It sounds as though a script on the site, or an advertisement, is not working quite right...
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies using either of these. Save any pending work first.
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Note the filepath should have |DataDirectory| which actually links to "current project directory\App_Data\" or "current project directory" and get the .mdf file.

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Some things to try first:

Is it disabled due to too many incorrect passcode attempts ? If it is then you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/resync your content to it.

Can not open my msn mail since I updated Firefox, get connection timed out error

Since we updated our Firefox to the last version I have not been able to open my email at msn/live.com We have 3 computers networked and it will not open on any of them. However, my husbands account [email protected] opens. I can open it on my home computer but not at our office and it is our office email. Can you help? Keep opened socket connection?

Hi,
My Java application communicates with server on average every 3 seconds. I wonder if it is a good idea to keep an opened socket connection to the server and don't open new connection for each request. The problem with this is that if in the meantime is connection aborted, java.net.SocketException is throwned.
What do you think about keeping opened connection? Is appropriate to work with opened connections or to open new connection for each new request? How do you solve in your applications situation when communication is irregular but frequent.

I had one more question on this topic relating to capture and processing exceptions. Communication between client and server I accomplish wit these three classes:
- ClientRequest - represents client request to the server
- Communication - gets ClientRequest and socket connection to the server and sends the request to the server
- ServerResponse - represents response returned from the server
Now If Communication class gets dead connection it can't work and throws an exception. We discussed that I should find out the situation and suitably respond to this situation.
My question is whether the method for reconnection should call:
a) Communication class
b) class that uses the Communication class?
c) somebody else (?)
In case a) there is an advantage that all is in one place and Communication class user does not have to worry about anything beause class will try reconnect itself (if second attempt fails, method throws another exception). The advantage of b) is that the user needs, he can respond to this situation and do some another action.

Can not open a particular web site

Hi, I always tried to open one web site and it used to open well in Firefox and IE. but since last few days it stopped opening both in FF and IE. It gives error as
1. The connection has timed out The server at www.eng-tips.com is taking too long to respond.
2.If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
3.If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
I Google with all above questions and tried most of the solutions, nothing works. Wondering why it stooped opening suddenly ? I tried to open it from other locations just to check if its down but its fine and working but can not open from my home internet. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Can not open my web page?

Installed my new 2T unit 5 days ago, it was fine till this afternoon. I can not open web page or connect to internet. (wired or wirelessly)
No issue with my cable modem as i tested by pluging wire direct from the modem.
"Green" light in front is OK, i have to unplug power and plug power back in after 10 sec to restore the unit to function again.
I read about the new time capsule will loss connections over time, wonder if anyone has experienced this problem in the past?

Can not open Web from Nokia N81

My Nokia N81 worked fine until today
I just connected it to PC Suite and made a synchronization - now I have folowing problem - I can not open web-browser any more.
When I go into menu and then try to open Icon web - screens becames blue (desctopimage) for a second and then I'm landing again in menu just as it was before click on icon
What can be the reason of this problem?
Similar happened also with N-Gage Icon. I've tried it with memory card and without it - the result is the same - I can not go into web-section of my Nokia
