Can not read back error description in VB

I am using: flex_get_error_description Lib "FlexMotion32.dll" (ByVal descriptionType%, ByVal errorCode&, ByVal commandID%, ByVal resourceID%, charArray%, sizeOfArray&) As Long. The definition for "charArray" is short, while VB does not provide such type. (In your old version, it is string type.). As such, how could I retrieve the error description?

This issue will be fixed in the next release of the NI-Motion driver. In the meantime, you basically need to change charArray% to ByVal charArray As String. Therefore, the correct prototype is as follows:
flex_get_error_description Lib "FlexMotion32.dll" (ByVal descriptionType%, ByVal errorCode&, ByVal commandID%, ByVal resourceID%, ByVal charArray As String, sizeOfArray&) As Long

If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

Can not read or write to mac hard drive error

When attempting to transfer music files from an external usb harddrive formatted in windows into Itunes, I can only successfully import a small fraction of the music, and then its stops with a error, that the Mac HD can not read or write files.

It's possible the file names have some 'funky' characters in them that the Mac doesn't like ?
What format is the external drive ?

"iPod Touch can not be backed up. The file needed can not be found" This is an error message I got when trying to restore my iPod Touch today after the volume bar disappeared!

Today the volume bar disappeared on my iPod Touch leaving me with no volume control. When I tried to do a restore I got the message "iPod Touch can not be backed up. The file needed can not be found" I'm in a double whammy here. First off has anyone ever got and cured either problem?

Problem solved thanks to another post here on the same topic.
1-Opened i Tunes & Connected iPod Touch
2- Unchecked "Open iTunes when connected"
3 - Synched iPod
4- Hit "Apply"
5- Checked "Open iTunes when connected"
6- Synched iPod
7 - Hit "Apply"
8- Ejected iPod and closed iTunes
9- Re-connected iPod Touch
10- iTunes opened automatically!

"disk can not be erased" error message on Time Machine back up

I keep getting a "disk can not be erased" error message as I try to restore a recently repaired computer from Time Machine Backup. I did a Disk Verify and Permissions Verify. No help.

Use migrate rather than whatever it is you are doing.. TM has loads of limitations and I suspect you are trying to do something that is not allowed. like recover from an older to a more recent OS..

No luck tell us what version OS is in the backup and what version is now on the computer.

Itunes keeps telling my it can not read the contents of my iphone and that i need to reset it back to factory settings. I dont want to do that there is nothing wrong with my phone and my computer recongnizes that the phone is there.

I tunes keeps telling me that it can not read my phone and it wants me to reset to factory setting there is nothing wrong with my phone and my computer reads the phone. What should I do I already did the restart of the apple mpbile device service.

Do an iCloud-backup, reset the iPhone and restore is from the iCloud-backup.

I know this question has been asked before and I apologize for asking again but all the solutions provided don't seam to work for me, can anyone help me please.
I am receving the message: "Itunes can not read the contents of the iPhone. Go to the summary tab In iPhone Preferences and click restore torestore this Iphone to factory settings".
Now a little about my iphone, Itunes and my laptop and what steps i havealready tried.
I have an iPhone 4 running software 5.0
My itunes version is 10.5.0.142
I know these are not the most up to date versions but I have had this issue for almost 3 months now and updating the software back then was the first step I tried. I don’t believe updating to the latest will fix this issue as updating the last two times did nothing.
Every so often after starting Itunes, The program will stop responding and will require the three finger death kill (CTRL, ALT, DELETE) to open task manager to end the task of Itunes. Once it shuts down, I restart the iTunes and it runs smoothly, apart from not reading my iPhone.
When I run a diagnostic in itunes under the help tab, I get these fail messages:
Network Connectivity test: Secure link to Itunes store fail
Device connectivity test: Under support services: Itunes helper is not running. And under ports: No iPod, iPhone or iPad found.
Device Sync test: No iPod touch, iPhone or iPad found.

I have restored back to factory settings twice.
I have shut down and restarted both my iPhone and laptop.
I am running Windows 7 32-bit on my laptop.
I am using ZoneAlarm as my fire wall, and have been disabling it when syncing my iPhone to prevent other error messages.
The iPhone is plugged into a genuine Iphone USB cable and is plugged into a USB port not a USB hub on my laptop, I have tried plugging it into all 4 USB ports and this issue still persist. The Cable is less then 5 months old, is not frayed or damaged in any way, have also borrowed 2 other cables from friends and still the same issue.
The iPhone does not even come up in windows explorer as a digital camera.
The iPhone is NOT jailbroken
I do not live close to a so called genius bar, however I have made the journey to them on 3 separate occasions last year when I first received my iPhone for a different issue, the so called genius's could not fix the problem so they just gave me a new (refurbished) iPhone, which did not extend my warranty. I will not be taking the iPhone back to them as I believe they can not resolve many issues, this is why I am reaching out to the power of the people in the wider apple community.
I have read in other forums about ifunbox and other programs for jail broken iPhones to isolate folders “iTunesDB” and "iTunesCDB" and delete them. If this is the issue is there a way to access these files through windows explorer as my iphone is not jailbroken.
I hope I have provided enough information and someone can help me fix this issue. If I have left anything out, please let me know. I thank everyone in advance for your patience and support.

I have done a complete uninstall and re install of iTunes and all related apple programs from my laptop through control panel, add remove programs and also by going through program files and deleting all tracers of any left over folders remove programs may have missed.

Custom Values not read back from Active area

Need help/ directions.
We have custom fields in UI, which are saved in Custom tables in ECC for reporting purpose. On activation of CR we could save these
values in Ztables, but when use open the Material for Mark for Deletion we are getting SMT Mapping error (Data could not read back to CR).
Don’t see any errors while activating CR , SMT in mapping and also API code program

Are these custom fields specific to Material or to the Change Request? If for the Change Request, then you don't need any SMT mapping. Please refer to this document for how you can enhance the MDG header: Enhancement of the User Interface Building Block for Change Requests.

That message is usually a sign that you tried to roll back to an earlier build of iTunes, but occasionally I've seen it connected to a new upgrade. This technique should fix things.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

After I search something with the search bar everything comes up small and I can not read what Mozilla has found.

Try this and see if the iPad will restart.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

If you are running Tiger, you don't have time machine.
You need to get something like SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner (sorry, I don't have a handy link for CCC but you can Google it to get their site) to make a clone of your drive on the external and then do incremental backups. The free versions do a lot and you can upgrade to the full-service versions for small change if you need more. The one time I used SuperDuper! for cloning a volume it worked just fine.
(My backup application is the last PPC capable version of Retrospect, which does a credible job, or has over the past ten-twelve years.)
