Can Siri be set to default to Work or Mobile

I was making a call yesterday to BOB Work and Siri asked if I want to make it the default. I said yes and now I only have to say call BOB. How do I make it do that for the rest of my contacts.

It seems like you may be having trouble with your 7515 staying connected with Web Services. You can remedy this by setting a static IP and changing some DNS settings:
1. Press the "Wireless" icon on the front panel of your printer. Make note of the IP address.
2. Open a web browser on your PC and in the address bar clear everything out and type in the IP address from the printer and hit the enter key. This will open the EWS (embedded web server) for the printer.
3. Click the "Network" tab at the top of the page.
4. On the left side of the page under Wireless (802.11) click on "Networking," then click on "Network Address(IP)."
5. Change the IP selection from Automatic to Manual, and then click the "Suggest a Manual IP Address" button. Make note of what the new IP Address is, you will need this in step 8.
6. Below those fields you will see fields for DNS settings. You will need to fill those in as follows:
Manual Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
Manual Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4
7. Click the "Apply" button. Once this is finished processing you may see a Warning message that says you may lose connection, and a message that says click the "OK" button to go back. Don't click the OK, button just close the page.
8. Now open a new browser window and enter the IP Address that you noted in step 5 in the address bar and press the enter key. If it opened the printer EWS page the settings were accepted successfully. You can close that browser page now.
9. Power cycle the printer by turning it off, disconnecting the power cord from the rear of the printer, wait 30 seconds, plug the printer back in and turn it back on.
10. Make sure that ePrint is on. It should stay enabled after this.

With recent update of Firefox, I can no longer set the default page, it always reverts back to the Mozilla page, why?

Why can I no longer set the default page to something else? Every time I open Mozilla Firefox, it always reverts back to the Mozilla page. No matter how many times I do this, it always reverts.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Why can't I set a default calendar on my iPad?

On my iPhone, I can set a default calendar under the "Mail..." utility option, but this is NOT an option on my iPad. Is this just an oversight on Apple's part or am I overlooking the setting elsewhere on my iPad?

I see the setting in Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Calendars, at the bottom of the page.

Find by Name can't be set as default?

When I hit command+F I get the Find window but it always defaults to Find By Content.
Can I make it default to Find By Name? From the search I did here in the forums there is no way but I thouht to ask again.

While there isn't a thing you can do about the toolbar default, you CAN render it irrelevant. If you bring up the Find window using the shortcut of Command-Shift-F, then you will get "Name:Contains" with the cursor blinking in the blank entry field. Type the file name you want to find, and the results will be files whose actual file name contains whatever you typed. Furthermore, if you don't want to be bothered by using the shift key, you can go to System Prefs->Keyboard&Mouse->Shortcuts and reverse the two shortcuts, so that "Find..." with the "Kind" nonsense becomes Command-Shift-F, and "Find by Name..." is a simple Command-F. Restart the Finder after you make your changes, and then whenever you do Command-F you will get a search box with "Name:Contains" and the cursor blinking in the field for you to just type your search word-- the results will be files containing your word in their NAME, not the content.
There still ain't a dang thing you can do about the default of searching "This Mac" rather than the folder you were in when you invoked the search. Which is idiotic.

Can no longer set non-default device with QT 7

In Quicktime 6, I could choose a specific device to play through. I use this feature to play iTunes through a second soundcard and out to my stereo. I leave my default device set to the system soundcard where I have just headphones hooked up. This way no system beeps or sounds come through the stereo.
Now with Quicktime 7, I can no longer do this. Can anyone suggest a workaround? Why on earth would Apple remove this feature that was working before?

Is there an answer to this dilemma yet? I run an htpc with multiple sound cards, and I definitely need to get this working. I hate to have to go back down to a previous version, if that is possible. Thanks.

When using email via iCloud, when I try to reply to emails, the cursor defaults to the bottom of the chain. How can it be set to default to the top?

PDF reader will not open certain documents. I have to download to desktop and open PDF documents there. No similar problem if using Safari. Already loaded PDF plugin for Firefox. Any guesses?

Can't get paid domain name to work in mobile me website created by iweb.

Bought my domain name from 1&1 and I've set everything up correctly I believe. One Question about Cname at 1&1, does it need a dot after the www.web.me.com

How do I set the default text in a bound textbox?

How do I set the default value of a bound textbox when the AddNewItem button on the MenuStrip is clicked?
I have the following code (see below), but for some reason it does work when I put the code in the
AddNewItem_Click event; however, it does work if I put it in the
Form's Load Event. The statement in question is Me.txtBusUsagePct.Text = 100.
What am I doing wrong? Why can't I set the default text in the AddNewItem_Click

Setting a Default Session

It appears that while you can create a customized work space in Audition CS5.5 you can no longer set a default session. In 3.0 I was able to create a session with a custom number of tracks, set effects on tracks and save that as a default session so that I would not have to set my session up the same way every time (which is helpful to me be in a voice track only environment). Am I missing something, or is this no longer a feature? It also appear that you can no longer set the default view of the workspace as it related to minutes (it shows 30 seconds by default). Attempting to set the View/End setting to, say, 1 minute is not possible.

Email hyper-link not working on mobile

Hi,
We have created a report which sends out list of treasury transactions pending release with hyper-links against each transaction. On clicking the hyper-link, an email is created with a pre-defined recipient, subject and body. The user simply sends the email and based on the authorisation set in the inbound mail processing class in SAP, the transaction is approved.
This is working perfectly in MS Outlook. However, when the approval link is clicked in a mobile handset, the new email is not composed with the pre-defined recipient, subject and body.
Please let me know how the hyper-link can be created so as to also work with mobile handsets.

I have created the hyperlinks in the interactive (html) mode.
While creating the hyperlink you just need to check one option "Use Complete URL path". This option will enable the hyperlink
in the pdf mode too.

Can you set a "default" web page in a KM folder?

Hi there,
I've been playing around with using Adobe Contribute to edit web pages in a CM Repository. It was easy to create a CM repository, put some web pages and supporting CSS, images etc. in there, and create a KM navigation iView that displays the default page. Setting up Adobe Contribute to edit those pages via a WebDAV protocol was simple too, and to be honest I find the Contribute interface and functionality easier to use (particularly from the average end user's point of view) and implement than the Portal's built-in HTML editor, or the Web Page Composer.
But then I ran into a snag. In order to be able to "administer" the site with Contribute (or Dreamweaver), it creates an _mm folder and puts a "guard" page in it. The guard page is a file which would be returned to the browser when it tries to access a folder. In a normal website that would be a "default" page (e..g index.htm, default.htm etc.), but in the Portal there doesn't seem to be a way to have one. I believe that's why if you try to access a folder through a browser you get:
"The folder you are looking for has no displayable content.
You can try one of the following:
Access the folder using the Navigation user interface.
Access the folder as a Web folder. Your operating system and browser dictate whether or not this will work."
That's what happens if I use something like http://<host name>:<port number>/irj/go/km/docs/<repository prefix>/<folder name>/ as a URL, though http://<host name>:<port number>/irj/go/km/docs/<repository prefix>/<folder name>/default.htm works just fine (as you would expect). And I can retrieve a fake "guard" page using http://<host name>:<port number>/irj/go/km/docs/<repository prefix>/<folder name>/_mm/default.htm
An Adobe technote confirms this as problem - [Guard Page not found|http://go.adobe.com/kb/ts_f3675780_en-us]. Does any one know if a default page can be set in a CM repository.

What is possible is to set content on the folder resource itself; that would be returned instead of the page you mentioned.

Can I over-ride the default setting in Organizer to allow sorting photos by filename ?

I am converting slides from the 1970's and 80's to digital files and using PSE 8 to Organize them but it is important to me that they stay in the order of the file name I give them and NOT "Date: newest first or last" because it would seem that PSE, in the absence of metafile information, uses the date and time I uploaded the file to the Organizer as the "Date:". ACDSee has a much more sensible arrangement in giving me full control of how my photos are sorted. I am being driven to using ACDSee as the organizer and PSE as the photo editor, a not very convenient arrangement. So my question is, "Can I over-ride the default setting in Organizer to allow sorting photos by filename ?"

The type of file system that you're trying to set up, is actually done better by creating you own file heirarchy in Windows, and then viewing by import batch. For example; you might create a top level folder "My Slide Scans", then perhaps, "My son John". So, the scans of john all go in the same folder, you import the folder in one batch, and you're where you want to be.
That said, PSE will fight you at every turn to do this, since with the scanner hooked up with PSE, PSE is going to want to store your photos in "scanned photos" and import them as you scan them.
I woud suggest this. After the scan and import, use PSE to move the photos to their final destination folder, say " Hawaii 1994", and create a tag of the same name". Then when you're done scanning photos of this event, use the tag to view all the scans at once. Then, delete all the photos from the organizer. (Yeah, sounds radical I know). Take heart! All you've gotta do then is to reimport the whole folder. All the same name photos will be in one import batch. And with all the photos of any given topic in one folder, you'll be able to also use Windows Explorer in any number of modes to view the photos outside PSE.
Keep in mind you can rename batchs of photos by selecting them, or by import batch or even tag, then "Ctrl. > Shift > N" will bring up the name change dialog box.
This technique is quite contensious, but, it makes a whole lot more sense than storing all your photos in the "My Photos" folder on the "C:/" drive where any viral or malware hiccup might cause the necessity of a reformat, which could cause the loss of years of work.
If a name search is a priority, that would be "Ctrl ."Shift" > "K" then type in whatever your heart desires.
Caution: Before attempting a delete/ reimport manuver, Alway, always, write the tag and file info to the photo. "File" >"Write Tag and Properties Info to File".
I always am quite adamantine about suggesting that you do NOT use the same physical HDD that contains Windows to store your photos, that's just asking for trouble. HDDs are quite cheap nowadays, and they're worth every penny in piece of mind. Plus to use a storage ("Volume") drive, you have to create your own file heirarchy anyway, so that leads right back to the beginning of this discussion.

Can you set the default alarm to be an email alert?

Just curious. I noticed that in the preference window, it allows you to set a default alarm that always starts as a sound.
Any plug-ins that will do this?
