Can't access inbox on ios 7 on iPhone 5 (and prior to updating to ios 7) Type face for "Inbox" is lighter than "Sent", "Trash" etc
I can't open the Inbox on my iPhone 5, this problem existed prior to downloading and installing the latest ios7 and still exists. The text for "Inbox" is lighter than that of "Sent" or "Trash" which can still be opened. If I turn the phone off and then back on Mail opens into the inbox and new mail is there. Asking Siri to open will also show the content of the inbox, however once I go back to Mailbox the option for Inbox will not open again. Any ideas much appreciated!

when you have set you iPhone for update the iTunes have automatically made a backup which i assume is saved with you on your PC . check if its there ... as far as your device is concern they might have been some issue while updating the firmware and the updation was not completed properly and due the unsuccessful updation your iPhone is stuck in recovery mode. you need to download the complete iPhone 4S iOS 7.0.2

You can do this from within iTunes by shift + mouse click the restore button which will give you an opendialogue box to select the iPSW from which you want to update your iPhone now have patience and let the iTunes complete its process and see if this resolves your issue .
once your device is in working condition restore your backup which you already have on ur PC and you don't have it then your data is lost :-(

I have had the same problem as you, and have spent the past 2 days figuring it out. I have been on the phone with AppleCare 3 times, and been to the Apple Store once as well. I ended up reinstalling iTunes completely, creating a new Administrator account on my Mac, and getting a brand new iPhone 4. None of these fixed the problem. I have a Mac, and I skipped everything except for the Terminal instructions.
I did the Terminal command, added # and a space in front of the only line it showed that had apple.com in it, then saved and exited. My update worked perfectly immediately after I completed those steps. Again, I hope this helps you as well! -
What's going on with iCloud (MobileMe)? I'm able to sign in here, but I can't access mail on my Macbook Pro, iPhone, or work computer. I always get an authorization error (user-id or passwork wrong). This has been going on for almost a week now.
The single download means that you won't be able to redownload it from the store without paying, either on a computer's iTunes or an iOS device - it doesn't stop you from copying the audiobook to your other computers or syncing it to your iOS devices, you just can't redownload it. (I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them requiring the one-time download.)
You can download audiobooks on your computer's iTunes and sync them to iOS devices, you do not have to buy them directly on the device (if you do then you can copy them back to your computer's iTunes library by connecting the device and using the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases menu option on your computer's iTunes).
What you are doing to sync them should work i.e.
- connecting the iPad to your Mac
- selecting the iPad on your Mac's iTunes
- selecting its Books tab and selecting the audiobooks that you want to sync to the iPad and syncing/applying that selection.
You should then get an audiobooks option in the Music app on your iPad. If they aren't appearing there then do they show in Settings > General > Usage > Music on the device - if you have audiobooks on the iPad then they should be listed there under an 'audiobooks' heading.
By 'restart the iPad' do you mean a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing its Music app via the iPad's taskbar : Force an app to close in iOS.
And do a soft-reset and retry syncing.

I am new to this community even though I have been a Apple user for years, so please forgive me if this question is not in the right section.
Has anyone encountered drastic shorter battery life both on iphone 5 and ipad since updating to iOS 6.1.2? I've always been happy with these two products until the update - now the battery life is considerably shorter which is extremely frustrating.
How can this problem be solved? Is there any way to go back to the previous version?
Thanks for your help.If you update using iTunes the phone is first wiped clean, then the new OS is installed, and finally the backup is restored. After this finishes if you sync your music should be restored. Music is not in the backup, because it is already on your computer and duplicating it would use up a lot of hard disk space.
An OTA update just patches what has changed; it does not disturb content. -

i followed your link on how to delete content from all things Apple, and nothing removes books, movies, music... it just gives said device(s) the iCloud/download icon on top of the book, movie... not sure what the 'hide' purchase actually does - after X'ing/hide, everything STILL appears across all devices using that account. could you clarify this any further?
if i am understanding iTunes correctly, then EVERYTHING we download (free or purchased) will be FOREVER accessible with zero way for us to control what is filling up this mysterious vault called the cloud? (creepy- apple is keeping EVERYTHING, what happens when the cloud gets full?)

I have Iphone 5S and I never updated from IOS 7.1.2 to IOS 8 and now this morning I noticed that IOS 8.0.1 was available but since it had bugs it was removed, so can anyone tell me if I can update to IOS 8 not 8.0.1 but just IOS 8?
No its not out yet, when I went in to settings it still says 8.0.1 and I just searched on google, it says IOS 8.0.2 will come out in a few days. I just want to get IOS 8, I don't care about IOS 8.0.1 or 8.0.2 .
