Can't access PC Documents folder when uploading from external program
When attempting to upload a file into Knack database from This PC/Documents folder I am referred back to One Drive and the following message:
"Something went wrong and this app can't pick files right now.
Try selecting app again"
Reselecting results in the same process

try also using different browser
let us know the update
but the best way to upload files to Onedrive is using OneDrive Sync Folder

I am a 3rd year University student, brand new to lightroom and am creating (trying to) create 3 books for my final university assignment.
I have created and saved "RABBET FINAL", and then carried on with the next 2 books, I now would like to go back and add more images to "RABBET FINAL", but when i select the the library folder I used previously called "All that i have", it automatically opens a new unsaved book. I then try to click on my saved book "RABBET FINAL", and it changes a library folder to a folder which only the images which are already in "RABBET FINAL"
When I hover the cursor over the library folder at the bottom, it says "ALL that i have + unsaved book. Is this the issue?
The BOOK also has a "+" next to it, is this causing it not to allow me to select from a different library?

[email protected]A saved book behaves like an ordinary collection.
In the book module click on RABBET FINAL in the left hand panel. It will have a double page book icon if it’s a saved book. Now right click on that saved book and choose Set As target Collection. A plus sign will indicate it is the target.
Now return to the Library and the folder with the images you wish to add. Use shift-click to select (highlight) the images you want or Ctrl+Click for individual non-consecutive images. With all of them selected press the B key and you should see confirmation that they have been added to RABBET FINAL.
Return to the book module and click on RABBET FINAL and you should see your extra images in the film strip. Click on add page and drag each image from the film strip up on to the new page. Be careful to click in the center of each filmstrip image and not one of the thumbnail icons. -
I'm trying to send a pages document as an email attachment to pc users. They can't access the document. When I try go to the "file" menu, there is no "save as" option.

Command-P (Print)
In the Print dialogue, click the PDF button at lower left, choose Mail PDF
The result should be a new email document with the pdf file attached.
Address and send.
The procedure applies to any document which may be printed, not just Pages documents.

I am in the final stages of a cross-forest migration. Users have Windows 7 workstations with redirected folders on a Windows Server 2012 box running in the old forest. User accounts were not migrated. The accounts in use have always
been in the "new" forest. One of our challenges was the large volume of data in redirected folders. I made sure users in the target forest had continued to have access to their redirected folders in the old forest and robocopied
the entire users share, copying the permissions with the files. By doing incremental robocopies, we can get a final copy done now in about six hours. The plan was simple: copy the files, do an incremental copy every night, on the night of the cutover
change the folder redirection policy Documents path from
\\oldserver\users\%USERNAME% to
\\newserver\users\%USERNAME%. The policy is configured to NOT copy user files from the existing folder to the new redirected folder. Everything was going well until I tested the policy change. After the folder redirection policy is updated
and applied, the user cannot access the private Documents folder. For example, user Chester Tester logs on as ctester. I open Windows Explorer and click the Documents shortcut. I see one subfolder, which is subfolder of Public Documents.
So I can look at Public Documents but when I click on the Documents folder (Under the Documents library link) I get an access denied error. Now for the kicker, if I open another Windows Explorer window and edit the address bar to
\\newserver\users\ctester, I can navigate the Documents folder tree and see my thousands of documents. What the ....?
I'm hoping this is something really simple to fix!

Thank you for your reply. Yes, the path in Group Policy Folder Redirection Root Path was updated to
\\NEWSERVER\users. I had planned to point this to the distributed file system, so the first used was actually
\\domain\dfs\users. To simplify things I have backed off to copying to just a normal share
\\newserver\users.
We are using BASIC folder redirection and we create a folder for each user under the root path.
We did not want the policy to move content, as we were seeing users requiring 15-20 minute logon times (or higher) after the policy is changed.
Grant the User exclusive right to Documents - Disabled
Move the contents of Documents to the new location - Disabled
Related folder settings
Video - Follow Documents
Music - Follow Documents
Pictures - Follow Documents
Now when I change the folder redirection from old server to new server I now have TWO My Documents folders in the user's redirection folder on the server. The redirected Documents points to an empty folder set. The copied folders with all user
data are there, but folder redirection refuses to recognize the original folder.
I am looking at the full view of the folder, nothing hidden, so I'm wondering how a folder can have two subfolders with the exact same name. For now, I just want the redirection to move from the old server to the new server properly. I deleted
the new My Documents folder, rebooted the user's workstation and tried again. The behavior repeats itself, i.e., a new My Documents folder is always created when the redirection policy is changed from the old server to the new server. The environment
has about 1500 users with approximately 1.3TB of data in the redirected Documents folders. OUCH! -
I recently upgraded to Mavericks from 10.6.8. Now I can't access Segoe UI Light when in any Microsoft 2011 Office for Mac app. When I open files using Segoe UI Light created before the OS upgrade, another font shows up on the page, yet checking the ribbon, it lists the font as Segoe UI Light. Only Light ( Regular, SemiLight, Semibold, Bold, etc. are all accessible) and only Microsoft apps (works fine in Adobe suite). The Segoe UI family is enabled in Font Book. This font is used extensively in company presentations and documents, so I absolutely need access to it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have updated the OSX on my iMAC (mid 2010 ) to YOSEMITE 10.10.1 and I am not liking it, and want to go back to Mavericks. Foolishly I did not make a backup prior to updating to yosemite. :-(

Thinking of purchasing Time Capsule.... Can I access my documents saved on (Home Network) Time Capsule from another Network??? For instance, I can access my documents saved on MyBookLive (which is connected to my wifi) from ANY wifi connection... Like when I'm at school I can download documents stored on my MyBookLive at home.... I love this feature... But I would prefer to keep my products apple... So my question is can I access my documents from ANYWHERE with Time Capsule???

Not for ipad or iphone.. only the Macbook although I think people have some work arounds..
NOTE. Your school firewall should block it. If I was still working in network admin I would. ie you are risking the whole network to get access to files unchecked for viruses.. and please don't just say Macs don't get viruses, you can still be the source of the infection even if you don't suffer the disease. Just a carrier.

I tried to download the upgrade, now it won't install and I can not access my documents. It said Vi did not have enough space for the upgrade so I made room but still no luck. If I delete the ap and reinstall I will lose my stuff. Any ideas? It won't open so I can email it to myself.
What upgrade are you trying to install? Your profile shows iOS 5.1.1, which is the current max iOS.

Office 2013 applications cannot be made to show the "Documents" folder when opening and saving files
(Windows Server 2012R2 and Windows 8.1 PRO)
We are redirecting the user's "Documents" folder to the network (using Folder Redirection). The OS hides this fact however, and most applications simply see the "Documents" folder when opening or saving files, including Office 2003.
Office 2013 however displays the actual path, which in this case is:
\\sever1\redirect$\username\documents
Even if you forcibly set the "Default local file location:" in the Options Save area to the 'Documents' folder in, say, Word, Word immediately converts the local path to the network path.
Is there anyway to get Office 2013 to follow the virtual path? All of other apps follow it and expose the users only to "Documents".

DanaThere's nothing in my FAQ concerning screen savers, so I'm unsure why you decided to take that approach. From your description, it looks like you only tried a few of the suggestions before throwing in the towel. That's fine, it's your call.
I don't have the problems you described with 10.4.7. Usually when folks have problems after an update, these are caused by either installing an update on an already-corrutped system or they've installed third-party applications or hardware that have been rendered incompatible by the update.
Before installing software updates, you may wish to consider the advice in my "Installing Software Updates" FAQ. Taking the steps therein before installing an update often helps avert problems and gives you a fallback position in case trouble arises.

Yesterday this was automatically installed. Today I can't access a document in Pages. A prompt says I need a Pages update. But the next screen tests for updates and informs me everything is up to date. What's up?
It's highly unlikely that the Pages update problem has anything to do with the ARD client update, since the client is not involved in any way with Software Update. I'd suggest asking for assistance with the update problem in the forum appropriate for your version of Mac OS X.

I can't access my documents on pages!?
I can't access the documents at all!
They are all there with their names and are all displaying the ink bottle logo rather than their content like usual.
If you tap them they flash as if selected but nothing happens.
I assumed this was because I hadn't updated it, as Keynote is doing the same thing. I updated it and all that's changed is the colour and detail of the ink bottle logo on every page!
I need to access them as soon as possible, they won't even open on ICloud which only ever seems to display the loading wheel on my laptop...

Thank you!Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
