Can't connect to ftp on business catalyst

hi,
I can't connect to ftp server, Im using file-zilla and I wrote my domain name for host name, I wrote my email address for user name when I acces to admin panel and I wrote my admin pass. but I can't connect. I guess I mistake somewhere.

I also have this same exact issue.
In Dreamweaver CC......
I go to Site and Manage Sites. I click the "Import Business Catalyst Site" button. At this point, I am prompted for my Adobe Creative Cloud username and password (which happens to be the exact login and password I login to the Business Catalyst Administration Portal with). I am then greeted with a list of my BC Sites. I select the site I desire, select a directory to store my files, and the site is created. I then try to connect to the FTP server and it is a no go. I have tried the connection from 2 Different Windows 8.1 computers.
My settings in Dreamweaver CC are imported automatically. I have also tried changing the wordsecuresystems.com to businesscatalyst.com and it does not work either.
Connect Using: SFTP
SFTP Address: mydomain.worldsecuresystems.com
Username: mydomain.worldsecuresystems.com/[email protected]/dw
(Yes I have tried taking the "/dw" on the end out of the username)
Password: Same password I use to login to BC Administrator Console.
Root Directory: /
Web URL: http://mydomain.businesscatalyst.com/

I have try the edit mode with Firefox and Chrome and no one doesn’t work.
For the french pages, I must reload the page to have the blue blocks. And if I do that on an english one, it switches on the french one...

Hi,
I have just checked at my end and it seems everything is working fine and I am able to edit even the English version pages.
Can you please try some other browser or in a different system to edit your site and check if you are able to do so.

Can't connect to ftp servers with Passive Mode

Hello,
I can't connect to ftp servers with Passive Mode.
I have Linksys WRT54GL.
Msg i have:
[R] 200 PORT Command successful.
[R] LIST -al
[R] 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
[R] 426 Data connection closed, transfer aborted.
[R] List Error
and:
[R] 200 Type set to A.
[R] MODE Z
[R] 200 MODE Z ok.

[R] Opening data connection IP: *.*.114.11 PORT: 2195
[R] Data Socket Error: Connection timed out

Maybe you need to do Port Forwarding on your router...Check for the Port Numbers for your FTP Server...

Can't FTP to Business Catalyst site from DW since changing password

Hi Guys,
I had to change my password today and now when I try to FTP to my BC site from DW it says I need to fix the FTP details but I am not sure where to do this. I've looked in what I thought were all the obvious places but I am missing something.

Can I sell events via Adobe Business Catalyst's eCommerce system?

I'm new to Adobe BC and am exploring it as an option for a client who needs a CRM + eCommerce solution. They have two types of products: subscribtions to classes/events and tangible goods.
The Adobe BC events module seems somewhat limited. To the external observer, it seems that users must subscribe to your event using a form.
Is there a way to sell an event subscribtion using the eCommerce system? i.e.- the information that the user populates in the checkout would feed right into the event subscribtion.
Or would I need to jerry-rig it, forcing the lead to buy the "product" and then get an invitation to the event where they need to fill their information again to subscribe?
I can code, but it's my understanding that that won't help me very much until the whole fluid markup thing is rolled out.

The reason I assumed an invitation was necessary is because this support doc mentions one: http://helpx.adobe.com/business-catalyst/partner/add-event.html
"When a visitor clicks the event invitation link, a form lets them sign up for the event."
But I don't just want them to sign up, I want them to buy the event ticket first. So I assumed that the product would have to be the invitation link itself.

Can't upload Index.html in Business Catalyst

I am building a new site. It's still under development. When I upload it to Business Catalyst i get the following message:
Error uploading file index.html. Click Resume to try again. If this problem persists, try again later.
I tried it several times but I am still getting the same message. How can I solve this??
One part of the site isn't rendering correctly.
Please inform me what to do.

Can I use CS5.5 with Business Catalyst

Hi All,
Do I need cloud subscription to use Business Catalyst.
Or can I create the site with CS5.5 and manage it through cs5.5 and online editing.

You can use what ever online editor you like to code in BC. I use Coda 2 for example.
Later DW versions can have an addon installed for BC and the very latest has it integrated into the software for use.

Can't connect to FTP

I have a big problem. I can't connect to my FTP anymore. I tried CyberDuck, FileZilla, Dreamweaver CS4 everything! I think my mac has something blocked, because Finder even can't connect to my FTP. Can anybody help me?

Can my client have access to Business Catalyst tools?

I am going to build a web site for my brother's business and host it on Business Catalyst. I would like to set this up so my brother has access to the Business Catalyst tools and pays for the account. All I want to do is maintain the web site itself. Can things be set up this way? Thanks.

Hi Barbara,
Each site plan has starts with a number of 3 site admin accounts, which can be upgraded. To this extent:
- If you have/are going to set-up your own partner portal account, when going live with your brother's site you will be able to choose to have him billed directly.
You will always be able to access the site, without affecting the number of admin accounts available for the respective site plan.
- If you set him up with his own free partner portal account he can choose whatever billing method preffered (billing the site owner or the partner portal user will mean your brother either way)
You wll need one of the 3 admin accounts setup for accessing/developing the site. Having removed that account you'll than have lost all control over the site.

Can not connect to ftp with mountain lion

Hallo everybody,
i have a problem with my ftp-client, i use cyberduck, i can not connect to any ftp-server...
evertime i get this message:
USER user_xyz
331 User user_xyz OK. Password required
PASS **********
530 Login authentication failed
this will only happen when i try it with mountain lion 10.8.2
with snow leopard and lion everything works fine and i can connect to the ftp-server.
i try to take another ftp-client but its the same... i try filezilla and transmit.
can anybody help me with this problem?

In your Network System Preferences, under Advanced, Proxies tab, is Passive mode selected? If it is, try toggling it off then on (or try it with it off).
Also, have you contacted the Cyberduck people to ask if they know about a problem?
Have you tried connecting from Terminal?

Settings correct but can't connect via ftp in DW

Hello,
My client just downgraded from an advanced hosting package to a standard hosting package at network solutions.
I can not connect to the server using ftp in dreamweaver. I have called the host and verified all of the connection information ad nauseum
with no success.. I am using Adobe CS3. Network Solutions insists that it is a DW problem which I doubt because Network Solutions
is the only host that I ever seem to have a problem with..
But the person there insisted that It is a DW problem because I was able to connect (using the username and pw) through a browser.
Has anyone ever had a problem such as this with Dreamweaver. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I have experienced some problems with DW's FTP feature through several versions of DW and several different hosts. My general conclusion is that it works well with some FTP server configurations and not with others. IMHO, it IS DW's implementation since in every case, I can transfer files with other FTP programs. I have never bothered to try to troubleshoot it down to the minute differences between servers, though.
I prefer using an external FTP program anyway (not a Web browser). In fact, when I first started using DW, I preferred the OS's built-in command line FTP client. There are many FTP client programs available for all operating systems and priced from free to enterprise level. My preferred is WS_FTP Pro (Windows), but I've heard good things about CuteFTP, FileZilla, and others.
So I guess that's my suggestion. Use an external program when DW doesn't work.

Can't connect to FTPS server

Hi,
I have problem with connection to FTPS servers. When I try to connect to my testing virtual server, i get:
GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received.
I am using current Filezilla, server software is vsftpd from Debian Squeeze (last version there). I tried connecting to another server with Pure-ftpd (also from Squeeze), same error. I also tried lftp, same error.
I tried downgrading gnu-tls package to 3.0.4-2 and also downgrading filezilla to 3.5.2-1, still same error.
I do not even know what could cause such error. I tried googling but with no success (there were some errors with GnuTLS, they have been corrected). What could be the cause?

SFTP and FTPS are two different things...
* FTP — File Transfer Protocol. Popular and fast way of moving files between a client and a server. The problem with FTP is that it’s not secured by encryption, leaving files at risk of being compromised during transport.
* FTPS — File Transfer Protocol over SSL. FTPS is an encrypted flavor of the FTP protocol (kind of like how HTTPS is an encrypted flavor of HTTP).
* SFTP — SSH File Transfer Protocol. SFTP uses the Secure Shell (ie: SSH) protocol to encrypt all file transfer communications. SFTP is a bit more firewall friendly because it uses only 1 port and it’s also a bit more secure than FTPS. SFTP is gaining steam as the most preferred method of secure file transfer, particularly in infrastructures that favor unix but SFTP is quickly gaining steam in Windows environments as well.

Using Dreamweaver CS4 I can't connect to FTP

I loaded Adobe Dreamweaver on my new laptop which is loaded with WIndows 7. I added the site information that I used in the past. I then clicked on the button to "connects to remote host" and I get the following error message.
An FTP error occured - cannot make connection to host. The remote host cannot be found.
What do I need to do in order to resolve this issue so I can connect and upload my pages to the web.

The only thing that I can think of is the site definition are not correct. Do you create an .ste file and import? If so,did you change any information since you did the export? I would double check the remote information in your site definitions.

Can't connect to FTP through FINDER (other ftp clients work)

I try to connect to my schools ftp icarus.engr.uconn.edu through finder's, Go -> Connect to Server
but every time I try it tells me you have entered an invalid password or username. The thing is that I can connect to the ftp through any FTP client like filezilla or Cyberduck even the Terminal ftp program will connect, but not Finder. Finder tells me the password or username is invalid. ??

Is it not prompting you? You can imbed your username or even your username + password in the URL.
e.g.
ftp://username@server
or
ftp://username:password@server
There should be no issue connecting. BUT... the imbedded FTP in Finder only allows for downloads. You can't upload.
You can upload via the command line FTP client, and of course a slew of 3rd party FTP clients (some of which you've already mentioned.)

Can't connect to FTP external drive - EA3500

Trying to connect to my external hardrive using FTP app from my phone to test it.
I uncheck the 'filter unwanted traffic box' and even tried switching the port from 21 to 4460.
Can't seem to connect on my iphones brower I get 'server not responding' and any app I use cannot connect.
Using UTF-8 encoding too.
Heres what I type into the browser, "ftp server ip : port"
Any help would be appreciated.
