Can't create a new user in WGM because of name redundancy.

Hi, I get the error message when trying to add a user who I have previously deleted.
"The name you have chosen conflicts with a name assigned to another user.
You cant assign the name "username" to two different users. Remember that names are not case-sensitive wen checking for conflicts."
I tried searching the forum and web but every other post that people have written are about computers not being able to to be added not users. Would anybody know about this issue? I've been trying to read and figure it out for about a day and half now.

Thanks for the reply. I tried the "show system records' view and it still didn't reveal anything different. I also tried the archiving and importing of the od list before when migrating my server from 10.4 to 10.6. When I did that though, something weird happened when importing and all the passwords got reset to 'aloha' which is what I changed ONE person's password to, so they could re-create their own. Then after that I wasn't able to change the passwords. Also back then, I tried to switch to stand alone and then back to master but I kept getting an error. I can't remember what it said and the directory services log doesn't show it anymore. I really just want to start over from scratch but the semester of the school I work for just started and doing that would be a big step backwards. I appreciate the suggestion though, thanks.

i can not create a new user account on eprint. I have been trying for over an hour and it repeats telling me that my email addresses are not entered correctly, however they match. ?

I have tried to create an account via ePrintCenter and it seems that the published application has several flaws in interpreting the provided input.
1) In the Filed for last Name I enter my last name, which consist of only Alph Characters. The form however thinks that there is some sort of special character and rejects my Input.
2) E-Mail address. is not identical; OK, so I do a quick OCR on the E-Mail and guess what they are identical. Again the form Fails to recognize this.
3) Enter a password (2 Fields) and a third is displayed which is marked as "*required" but is not labeled as to what the required info could possibly be. Or is it a 3 password confirmation box, who knows.
All I know is that a simple registration is a major pain with this HP site.
Any Help as to how to alleviate this would of course be greatly appreciated.

This should help you out after you have created the new user account. You are trying to make it much more complex than it needs to be. Just follow the directions in:

You can look into the Oracle 8i Documentation and find various privillages listed.
In particular, you may find:
Chapter 27 Privileges, Roles, and Security Policies
an intresting chapter.
You may want to do this with the various tools included with 8i - including the
Oracle DBA Studio - expand the Security node and you can create USERS and ROLES.
Or use SQL*Plus. To create a
user / password named John / Smith, you would login to SQL*Plus as System/manager (or other) and type in:
Create user John identified by Smith;
Grant CONNECT to John;
Grant SELECT ANY TABLE to John;
commit;
There is much more you can do
depending on your needs.

Can't create a new user on ePrint center for four days now

I've been trying to create a new ePrint user since Saturday when I set up my printer. I think I've tried it 15 times now. All I ever get when submitting the form at:

I saw an earlier thread where someone saying they were an HP employee said it was fixed. I tried it after that and it still doesn't work for me. This is really weak! As reported by one Danish user, the problem was I was using Czech characters in the name, so now it works.
Apparently somewhere along the chain between the web and backend sides someone doesn't have an encoding set properly. In this day and age, with the ease of UTF-8 and Unicode, that's pretty lame...

This is definitly possible. In my perspective
it consist out of two steps: customing your login-screen and making a procedure which adds an new user to portal.
The customizing of the login screen is only a extra call to the new procedure.
The procedure is a bit more diffcult, you have to make an user and add rights to him.
I already have a document containing the way to customize a loginscreen.
I also have a sql-package wich adds an user to portal(from outside portal), but the description and inline documentation are in dutch. So I have to do some work on that.

Can't create a new user session with KDE

Hi,
when I select "Switch user" in KDE, and try to start a new user session, I get dropped to a lockscreen of the currently logged-in user. I first thought this was a KDM issue, but this still persists with SDDM. I'd post any relevant logs, but I'm not even sure where to look for the source of the problem now.

Question as the title.
I had the example dababase installed when I installed the Oracle database.
Every time, when I create a new user, there will be some example objects coming
with the new user.
How can I remove these objects from the new user?

I think the easiest way for you would be to use OEM.
Just locate each object that you want to remove and right click->remove. Don't bother doing this for any indexes as these will be removed when you drop the corresponding tables.
If you want to try command line through sqlplus then identify the objects you want to remove by selecting from the user_objects view while logged in as this user. This will give you the name and type of object. Then issue the relevant drop command.
It's probably worth making sure you have a valid backup first, just in case things go wrong!

if you simply sign out, the stuff you recently purchased will be an issue in the future when an update comes out for apps or anything else. restore the device as new from itunes then restore from a back if you have one as stated above...or set up as new and use correct apple id. this will ensure you will be using the apple id that you used originally without issues from the new one.

Software applications are usually installed in the Applications folder on the Macintosh HD and are accessible to all users.
I would advise you to check the Applications folder and see if your software is in there.
Next step would be to Control Click or Right Click on the application and choose "Get Info" and make sure the permissions are set to "Read & Write" for all users. The article below provides more details:
