Can't create pots dial-peer on CME router
I just acquired a cisco 2650, which i upgraded to "12.3 enterprise plus" IOS. i have CME configured on this router, with 2 7960s registered and working just fine. i add an NM-2V module with a 2FXS and a 2FXO cards into each of the NM slots. when i ty to configure the pots dial peers, the command parser doesn't show 'pots' as a valid dial-peer type:
confi t
dial-peer voice 1 pots
i get an error, and when i parse, only 'voip' is enabled as a valid dial-p type.
what i am doing wrong? is there any commands i am missing, in order to activate the pots? yet, when i do a "show voice port summary" i can clearly see the fxo ports in dormant stante, and when i plug an analog phone to it, i can hear the ringtone upon picking up.
please help.
regards
T.
i figured it out, finally. for some reason,if you issue "dial-peer voice 1", the only option available after integer 1 is "Voip". but when i pick any other integer >=2, then i get the option for either "voip" or "pots". so the bottom line is that i should have NOT used 1 for the dial-peer number.
why that is? go figure. i am aware of the defauld null dial-peer, but this one got me scratching my head. i can't say for sure that this worked for me in the past, but if this has been in the IOS for some time and i am only running into it now, then i guess my learning process have lots to look forward to :)
thanks for looking into this with me.
Regards,
T.

Can't create a dial up modem connection
hi...
need help here.
i have lenovo 3000 notebook V200 series with build in conexant modem, i have installed the modem driver correctly, i have query the modem and it shows the result successfully. but why does vista doesn't detect the modem when i'm trying to create a dial up modem connection ?. i also use the wireless 3G modem provided by AT&T. can anyone help me ? thank you...
sincerely
arifinwhat do you mean? you can't create dial connection or you dont heard dial tone when you try to connect? Did you see under hardware devices. Does it show moderm at all? Try to hook up phone line to it and listen to dial tone? if It does. It would work fine. or you can upgrade moderm driver to see if you can create connection again.
Good luck to you -
Is there a way to put a delay on a dial peer in CME?
My users... Keep on dialing 9911, then hanging up because it was an accident. Then emergency services call back and get main automated attendant, then they dispatch out to the office pissed off. 3 times this month now...
Can I put a 1 second delay on the 911 dial peer so that if someone dials 9911, and realizes their mistake, they can hang up and no harm/no foul. In the off chance that it is a real emergency, the 1 second delay is not going to hurt anyone, but it will give the user that second to change his/her mind and hang up without further irritating emergency services.Hello Clark,
refer to this
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/ios/voice/dialpeer/configuration/guide/12_4t/vd_12_4t_book/vd_dp_feat_cfg.html
example
"9, 911." The comma in this example means that the router will pause for 1 second between dialing the "9" and dialing the "9" to allow for a secondary dial tone.
(,). comma indicates a 1-second pause in dialing

Outbound Dial-Peer from CME to UC540 not working
Dear Experts,
We have a HQ UC560 and new branch with 2811 router. These sites connected via VPN using fortigate. The connectivity between the sites is up and we are able to ping both the sites and the voice networks successfully.
I have configured the dial-peers on both the sites. The calls from HQ to the local branch are successful without any problem but when we dial from branch to the HQ, we get a fast busy signal. Below is the dial peer config

Port missing from POTS dial-peer in running-config after shutting down Controller T1
After shutting down the Controller T1 the Port is missing from the POTS dial-peers in the running-config
It's expected behavior. You need to add Port back to the running-config.

IOS 15.1 POTS dial-peer problem
Good day!
After updating to IOS version 15.1(4)M6 there is a problem with outgoing calls through the PRI.
Router configuration in the attach. On the gateway turned on debugs:
sho debugging
The following ISDN debugs are enabled on all DSLs:debug isdn error is ON.
debug isdn q931 is ON. (filter is OFF)
DIALPEER:
debug voip dialpeer error call is ON (filter is OFF)
debug voip dialpeer error informational call is ON (filter is OFF)

debug voip dialpeer error software is ON informational
debug voip dialpeer function is ON (filter is OFF)
debug voip dialpeer inout is ON (filter is OFF)
debug voip dialpeer detail is ON (filter is OFF).
The result of debug also in attach.
On CUCM 9.1 configured SIP trunk to this gateway. When I call the test number 89261234567 I hear a busy signal. If I upload this version 12.2(24)T6, with exactly the same configuration, everything works successfully. Accordingly some problem lies precisely in the new IOS. Please tell me to what may be the case.
Thank you!Hi Filipp,
As Deji correctly guessed, the call is disconnected because of the Toll Fraud prevention.

Best practice about dial-peer creating when using analog lines
Hi,
I am trying to find out what is the best practice when creating dial-peer for analog lines on CME, should I use trunk group or create separate dial-peer for each FXO ports? If I use trunk group, is there any advantage ( lesser dial-peer) or disadvantage?
Thanks! The advantage of trunk groups is that a single dial peer can point to for instance PSTN, rather then multiple dialpeers, with varying preference, each pointing to a separate FXO. Funtionally I can't see much difference. So I guess it also comes down to personal preference.

How to configure a virtual dial-peer destination pattern?
There is a virtual dial peer, 22501, that is configured with a destination pattern. When that call comes in the (H323) gateway from the PRI, it, of, course fails. There is a voip dial peer, 301, of 8345.... which it's supposed to hit. But the virtual dial peer is a specific match. How do I take that destination pattern off of dial peer 22501? I can't get in the dial peer like the other, normal, dial peers? I get "invalid command" when trying. Need help getting it out.

92929- voip up up 0 syst 292
22501 pots up up 83452342$ 0 50/0/1
22502 pots up down 1 50/0/2
22503 pots up down 0 50/0/3Hi Anthony,
The voice-ports start from 50/0/x created when we configure an ephone-dn on the CME.
Since, i do not see any CME configuration on your gateway, that means you must be using this as SRST.
When IP phones registered on the CUCM loose connectivity, and they register to SRST, these voice ports and dial-peer are dynamically created. And the extension on the IP phone is automatically configured at destination pattern.
Please check if this IP phone(with extension 83452342) is still registered in the SRST mode.
If not, then probably the dynamic configuration has not been washed out completely.
There is no way you can enter in these dial-peer configuration and remove it.
At the moment, you need to reload the gateway to remove this configuration.
Hope this helps.

Site to Site calling issue - Cisco 2911 Dial Peer Configuration
My customer dials from remote site to main site to their main site number, the call by-passes their auto attendant and goes directly to any random available party.
At first fingers were pointing to the their PBX, however we noticed one of their sites that wasn't managed by our company did not have the issue. We cut that site over to our service and the issue started right up. I believe it is possibly due to the way the dial peers are configured and how the calls route into the PBX. Unfortunately I do not understand much about them and curious to know if anyone has any history on a issue similiar to this or any input whatsoever?

I have a SIP trunk set up and can make outgoing calls fine. However, at the moment, i'm having a little trouble getting the incoming calls to be recieved on my ephone-dn.

I believe my problem lies with me incorrectly setting up my dial-peer. This is what i currently have.
dial-peer voice 9999 voip
description Incoming call via SIP
translate-outgoing called 3
destination-pattern 4418336xxxxx
translation-rule 3
Rule 0 ^4418336xxxxx 2000
2000 is my extension on CME4.0 and i've x'd up IPs and phone numbers for privacy.
I would have thought that translation-rule would replace the called number with my extension, which would in turn cause my extension to ring. No such luck though.
I can get the call to be put through to a normal phone via a pots dial-peer with the following dial-peer
dial-peer voice 9999 pots
destination-pattern 4418336xxxxx
port 0/1/1
ThanksStill pulling my hair out with this. I have tried your suggestion with the following setup:
voice translation-rule 10
rule 1 /^441833612345/ /2000/
voice translation-profile incSIP
translate called 10
dial-peer voice 1 voip
translation-profile incoming incSIP
incoming called-number .
Then with "debug voice dialpeer" activated, I get the following.

In older cisco IOS, IVR can be implemented on a VoIP dial-peer with the restriction that you are using G.711 codec.
In the latest release for AS5xx0 series, has this facility been extended to other codecs?
I am using G.729 and running a calling card business. But unlike conventional networks, my customers are on the IP side (using softphones or IP phones or other smaller SOHO Gateways). So I want to provide IVR and do RADIUS billing for calling cards for calls coming in on the IP side of the gateway.
Also, can an incoming VoIP dial-peer match an outgoing dial-peer?I hope the other codec support is there. Not sure. I checked in the following document and couldnt find it.

Hello
I have 2 CME
PSTN===>CME01===LAN==>CME02 please see attached file with dial-peer config
problem:
ip phone 1299 can call 07733XXXXX (PSTN phone)
ip phone 1484 can call 1299 but cannot dial 07733XXXXX(PSTN phone)
please can you helpYes certainly its possible, create another specific dial-peer for the 077XX number and configure over ride on that dial-peer as per below:
dial-peer voice 4 voip
incoming called-number ^07733.....$ <<<< This for matching all calls starting with 07733
paramspace callsetup after-hours-exempt true << this should exempt this dial-peer
end
So your calls hitting dial-peer 3 we previously created will match anything other than 07733 numbers and will have call block on. This dial-peer 4 will allow exemption for this specific number.
If you want to exempt all calls from CME02 then you can have the command:
paramspace callsetup after-hours-exempt true
under the dial-peer 3 we previously created.
Let me know how you go and please do rate all helpful posts.

Hi,
I have cucm 9 and cme 9 with srst on remote site.
I have configured snr (mobility) and it was working fine.
I have configured dial-peer hunt because I get a busy tone when the cucm is available and all phone are registered to the cucm instead of the cme.
Now snr do not work anymore do you have an idea ?
Thank youLog file SNR working without "dial-peer hunt"

How can i transfer a call from SIP 9971 to PBX system on CME router
hello everybody,
I have a critical problem about interaction of transfering feature between CME router and pbx panasonic system in some status. let me explain more detail about this issue..i have a SIP 9971(CP-9971) registered on CME at the one site and a voice gateway that is connect with PBX system through a E1 pri trunk connection at the other site. totally the integration between CME and PBX is ok and there is no problem in two direction, i mean i can call pbx system from cp-9971 and vise versa but when i call from a phone which is registered on PBX site to SIP 9971 which is registered on cisco CME call is connected, then when i try to transfer that call to another phone at PBX site, the session is open between two panasonic phones but no audio transmited in two direction. in addition every thing works fine about SCCP phones(transfer feature works fine). here is my configuration file. i hope someone could help me because i've searched a lot but no result help help help plz....

endHaving looked at your spreadsheet I see you're failing H323 transfers back to your ISDN system, but only under certain circumstances. Quite why, I'm not sure, possibly because you haven't codec defined on your H323 dial peers. or it could be something else
I think you may be able to work around the problem by adding
" supplementary-service h450.12 " under voice service voip on your CME router as a quick fix.

I have a Manager Express in a router down in mexico. I have a full blown call manager here at our headquarters that I am looking to route all of our domestic long distance thru. Our local Call manager passes numbers on to our PBX with a 9 to notify it that it will be going out our long distance service.
My dial-peer in Mexico looks similar to this:
dial-peer voice 103 voip
description US Long Distance
translation-profile outgoing US-LD
preference 3
destination-pattern 2001[2-9]..[2-9]......
voice-class codec 1
voice-class h323 1
session target ipv4:x.x.x.x
dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric
fax-relay ecm disable
no vad
the preference 3 is so that it doesn't use this till I have it right. In its current setup it will strip the 2001. (2 is for an outside line, 001 is to call U.S.) I need to add back on a 91 at the start. With a VOIP dial peer it is not allowing me to use the Prefix command I can with POTS. Is there a different command I should be using? or do I need to fix the missing characters in out local Call Manager?
Any suggestions would be appreciated. You have couple of options:
1. use translation pattern on the CCM to prefix the 9.
2. create a voice translation rule on CME and apply it to the dial-peer, such as:
voice translation-rule 1
rule 1 /^200\(1..........\)/ /\1/
voice translation-profile 1
translate called 1
dial-peer voice 103 voip
translation-profile outgoing 1
