Can't create repository as iSCSI physical disk
Using OVM 3.1.1
I am using a ZFS Storage Appliance (simulated under virtualbox for testing) as a SAN.
I created two iSCSI LUN devices on the appliance in the same ZFS pool:- a LUN for a server pool, and a LUN for a repository.
After creating an Access Group that two of my OVM servers could use to see this pool, I was able to create a pool using the LUN I made for the server pool.
Of course I have already installed the ZFS-SA pugin on my two OVM nodes, so this all works.
When I tried to create the repository, I use the other iSCSI LUN and I get the message box with spinning timer icon telling me that it is creating the repository.
However, the process times out and fails. The details of the failure I cut and pasted here.
The interesting this is that instead of an iSCSI LUN, I can create an NFS share on the ZFS-SA, mount that, and use that as a repository and have that work.
That's not what I want, however.
What's going on? The detailed log output gives me no clue whatsoever as to what is wrong. Looks like it's clashing with OCFS2 or something.

To frustrate me further, trying to remove my repository LUN from the access group hasn't worked.
I begin by editing the storage access group and swapping the repository LUN I created back out and onto the left panel (where it is to be unused I imagine).
What's ridiculous is that the LUN isn't mounted or used by anything (it didn't work, remember?). If it was easy to add to the group... why so hard to remove?
...to my surprise, I get this:-
Perhaps it's because I am attempting to do something before something else has been properly cleaned up.
It would be nice to be told of that, rather than have error messages like this thrust at you.

Can't create a 3rd partition in Disk Utility
Long story short I have used Boot Camp to get Windows, so I have 2 partitions. But, I need to create another partition to install another copy of Windows on it, but Disk Utility has grayed out the '+' to allow me to create a new partition. All I can do is delete the 'BOOTCAMP' partition which I don't want to do. I tried another way by going into Boot Camp Assistant and installing Windows through there. I have a bootable USB drive and I know how to install it, all that's stopping me is the partition issue.
Any ideas?
If it helps, I'm using a Late 2013 MacBook Pro with a 15" Retina Display, 2.5 GHz, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM and a NVIDIA GT 750 M.

Unfortunately it did not help.. The screen to remove the existing Boot Camp partition does not pop up, it just tries to create the new Boot Camp partition.
The partition I'm trying to create it 150GB. The 50GB mentioned above was on the stock Fujitsu 250GB disk.

I'm actually trying to avoid using Boot Camp Assistant.. I became to dislike the utility due to problems creating a partition on my previous HD.
I would like to create a partition using Disk Utility and then install Windows 7 by selecting that DVD to boot from.

Can't create a session on Local Disk on Cisco NAM2204-RJ45 5.1(2)
I have a Cisco NAM 2204-RJ45 with the version 5.1(2).
The issue that I have is that when I want to create a new session capture, we can not select to save the capture to the local disk, and the NAM shows me this message: "All Disk Storage are currently 'In Use', please capture to memory.
Verifying the status of the Local Disk, There is a lot of availaible disk:
The only way to use the Local Disk is taking the capture on "Memory" and after that save to file this capture.
I need to know if there is a way to save the session capture directly to the Local Disk. Why the NAM send me the message of the all data storage in Local Disk is in Use?

Can't create repository - zero byte log file?
Hello all,
I'm getting the 'CDR-21244 : This process has been aborted' message when creating the repository in a 10g database using Designer 10g ( 9.0.4.5). I get identical results with Designer 9i (9.0.2.7). I've checked the installation log file, according to the documentation, and it contains zero bytes. The IMP.EXE window doesn't say anything unusual, it simply reports a couple of possible character conversions and then terminates before doing anything.
None of the suggested solutions to this error from the Repository Installation Guide seem to apply to me:
* I have all the proper permissions and settings according to the 'check requirements' dialog
* I don't have anything in my log file
* The IMP.EXE utility is installed
* TNSNAMES.ORA seems fine since I can connect to this database using TOAD
Has anyone else seen this?

b. Invoke 'Check Requirements' utility.
c. Expand 'Parameter Settings' node and '[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\REPOS61\]' node.
d. Note the values for 'EXECUTE_EXPORT', 'EXECUTE_IMPORT', 'EXECUTE_PLUS_RAU' variables.
4. Version of Database.

Boot Camp 4.0.1
Broken Superdrive
In Boot Camp Assistant there's the possibility to create a bootable usb disk from a Windows 7 ISO.
I plugged a 32gb usb disk formatted fat32 (but tried NTFS also) and have my Windows 7 iso ready in download folder, but when I start Boot Camp Assistant the first choice to create the usb boot disk is shaded. I can't select it.

you can not make any kind on RAID type with only one hard drive you need at least tow drive to perform a RAID volume
then , hard drive utility can be use to perform software raid ( Level 0 an Level 1 only )

Can't create a repository with a local physical disk

I'm using Oracle VM Manager 3.0.3.
I created a non clustered server pool with one server. That server has 2 identical SATA 500GB internal drives and 1 eSATA 750GB drive in AHCI mode. The 750G eSATA drive is the primary boot drive and hosts the MBR with Windows 7. One of the 500GB SATA internal drive hosts Oracle VM Server. The other 500GB SATA drive has no partition and I want to use it as a local OVM repository. When I boot the server I can select to boot Windows 7 or Oracle VM Server with no issue.
After the OVM server boots, OVM Manager 3.0.3 can discover it along with 2 physical disks: the 500GB SATA internal drive (SATA_WDC_WD5000BEKT-_WD-WX41A11X1750) I want to use as a repository and the eSATA 750GB drive. OVM Manager reports these physical disks as SAN type with no file system.
When I create my local repository for the server pool, I select the physical disk SATA_WDC_WD5000BEKT-_WD-WX41A11X1750 and click the "Next" button. But the job always fails with the following details:

How can I create a system backup in Solaris 10?

I need to create a image of entire disk or a system backup. I think use "ufsdump" but I'm not sure. Can I create a backup of whole disk with "ufsdump" command? Are there any application to do it.?

Alejandro.If you want to create an image of the entire disk, then `dd' is an option. But you can also use ufsdump to create an image of a filesystem running on that disk, but you need to do that for every filesystem on the disk and please keep a copy of you vtoc for the future if you need to restore everything.
On the other hand you make me thing about someone who wants to clone machines and then a Flash Archive can also be an option. Please keep in mind to ask the question in the future instead of conformation of your answer ;-) -
Cannot create repository OVM 3.3.1, have shared physical disk with OCFS2
I installed OVM 3.3.1 servers on hp blades, give 20GB LUN from FC array to each.
Give one 600GB LUN from FC to both.
Using OVM 3.3 Manager created serverpool of the two VM Servers
In the Storage tab under SAN servers-Unmanaged FC Storage Arrays-FibreChannel Volume group I can see
- both 20GB disk on OVM servers
- the 600GB disk (shown for 1 server only, but display Servers Using this disk shows both)
I check ovs-agent is runnig on both OVM servers (I restarted it on both to be sure)
There is an OCFS2 filesystem on the 600GB disk created.
When I open the Repositories Tab in OVM Manager I am not able to create repository.

OVMM will refuse to create a storage repository on any disk that already contains an OCFS2 file system. Either you got something mixed up or you got an old OCFS2 LUN. Either way, since creating a SR requires to wipe the LUN, rsp. formatting it with OCFS2, there musn't be an OCFS2 volume on it.

Can I install a BootCamp partition on a fusion disc?
Can I install a BootCamp partition (Wndows 7) on a 1 TB on which OSX mac Yosemite or Mavericks has been installed first? I have a 2012 MacBook Pro, that already has a 400 GB Boot Camp partition, but I am considering replacing it with a fusion disc or an SSD since I shall have to install a windows compatible medical dictation application that could use a speedier disc. Will Mac OS and Windows interfere with each other on the SSDpart of a large fusion disc ( 1 TB) if I switch back and forth from rebooting on Mac OS , then on Windows and vice-versa? Does the SSD part of the fusion disc get confused, and will the fusion disc tolerate the installation pf a Boot Camp partition in the first place, or just give a stretch of plain 5400 RPM disc without the SSD part ?Can I1. On single-disk Macs, you can use an SSHD (as a single physical disk), but not an SSD/HDD. There is a no single physical unit which is a Fusion drive. A Fusion drive consists of a physical SSD and a physical HDD. MBPs on which the Optibay has an SSD/HDD and main bay with SSD/HDD will support a Fusion (aka CoreStorage volume). Yosemite supports a Fusion drive, which has an internal SSD and and external HDD (the reverse makes no sense, but is possible).
2. On newer Macs, with 1TB PCIe flash, you have an SSD as your whole drive.
3. The two environments, OS X and Windows are self-contained, on separate partitions. The underlying hardware is common.
4. On a Mini, which supports two drives, I have a 256g SSD/1TB HDD, in a DIY Fusion drive, with Windows on the SSD part. Bootcamp Assistant does not support this, but third-party tools can be used. The other option is to install OS X and Windows on a SSD, and later add an HDD and include into a CS volume. This is what I would recommend for you.
5. The 13-in 2012 MBP will allow you use a USB installer, without the need for an Optical drive, so it is possible to replace the Optibay with an HDD, create a Fusion drive. If BCA is used, it will put Windows on the HDD on this specific machine if the Fusion drive is created first. -

The version of Oracle VM I am using is 2.1.5 .
I wonder can I create and use more than one repository on OVM 2.1.5. Because I want to install different GOS on different disks.
I know in Oracle VM 2.2 we can use following commands to realize that.
a. #/opt/ovs-agent-2.3/utils/repos.py –n /dev/mapper/mpathxp1
b. #/opt/ovs-agent-2.3/utils/repos.py –r UUID
c. #/opt/ovs-agent-2.3/utils/repos.py –i
And other repositories can also be mounted and found under /var/ovs/mount/UUID.
But in Oracle VM 2.1.5, seems just one repository can be created and mounted. For example:
At first, I create a repository using mpath1p1:
a. # mkfs.ocfs2 /dev/mapper/mpath1p1
b. #/usr/lib/ovs/ovs-makerepo /dev/mapper/mpath1p1 C "cluster root"
c. I can find the repository has been mounted under /OVS.
But if I want to use "/usr/lib/ovs/ovs-makerepo /dev/mapper/mpath2p1 C "cluster root" to create another repository, and check the mount status using command "mount", these two disks are all have been mounted under /OVS.
"# cat /etc/ovs/repositories", only mpath1p1 with UUID was recorded there.
After reboot, only repository with mpath1p1 was mounted under OVS.
Can anyone tell me how to use more than one repositories on OVM 2.1.5. Do I have to install all the GOSs on the same disk and repository.

I am installing oracle 10gR2 in Fedora core 4, and I prefer to use oracle Automatic Storage Management feature. Since oracle doesn't support FC4, I have to set up rRHEL4 kernel core to install ASM driver and configure it. The things went well until I want to create disks for ASM, for example:
# /etc/init.d/oracleasm createdisk DISK1 /dev/hda5
Marking disk "/dev/hda5" as an ASM disk: asmtool: Unable to clear device "/dev/hda5": Input/Output error
When I install the FC4, /dev/hda5 is only one of the partitions in the physical disk, not a full independent physical disk. Same to other disks that I want to put into ASM disks. I google the net but didn't find any similar problem happened to other players. So I need your help!

What version are you using? I have had similar problems in the past. Worst case I had to recreate the widget and copy the coding across.
Can you send me the project file, I will understand also if you do not want to, I will try it on my machine.
