Can't Debug Cloud Service w/Visual Studio

I have used the instructions on the following link to no avail.  Trying to debug a web application.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff683670.aspx#BK_Debugging_Cloud_Azure
I am using SDK version 2.3 with Visual Studio 2013 Ultimate.
Yes, remote debugging is turned on.
Yes, project is compiled in Debug mode.
When I attach debugger the default process that comes up selected is "clouddrivesvc.exe".  When I attach the process is debugging in Native mode.  So I'm guessing this is not the right process to attach to.  Based on the screen shots
in the aforementioned link I have tried attaching to "WallSHost.exe", this doesn't work either though.  I'm assuming I must be attaching to the wrong process.  Instructions state that the correct process should be selected by default...?

Hi,
The debugger automatically attaches to the appropriate host process for your role. Depending on what the role is, the debugger attaches to w3wp.exe, WaWorkerHost.exe, or WaIISHost.exe. To verify the process to which the debugger is attached, expand the instance
node in Server Explorer.

  • Can't publish to Azure Cloud Service from Visual Studio 2013

I have a VS project that I upgraded from VS 2012 to VS 2013. I can run it locally, and had no issues publishing to Azure when I was using VS 2012. When I attempt to publish the upgraded app to an Azure Cloud Service that already exists, I am getting this
error.  Note that I have checked the Service Config files and did a search on the entire solution and can not find any reference to "LocalStorage1" anywhere in the Project or Solution. I have another VS 20113 Project that publishes just fine
to Azure Cloud Service. Any ideas on how to fix this?
    PUBLISH ERROR:
Windows Azure could not find the resource LocalStorage1 in the service package. To upgrade the deployment, you must add the resource. Otherwise, perform a new deployment.

That's actually what I meant in my first post. When publishing to a new service, it is fine, because the deployment does not have to compare what is already there (it is a new service, so nothing is there) and what is in your package. But while upgrading
a service, bunch of settings have to match between an existing service and the package you are trying to upload. So the error you got wasn't about you having something extra in your package, but having something extra in your existing service and missing in
the package you were uploading. Hope that helps.
Anyway, please move this question to cloud services forums (this one is for web sites only), as there are experts in that area and they might be able to help you better.
    Thanks,
    Petr

  • Can we develop a solution in Visual Studio 2012 and still deploy it on BizTalk 2010?

Can we develop a solution in Visual Studio 2012 and still deploy it on BizTalk 2010? or Is it that solutions developed in VS 2012 have to be deployed only to BizTalk 2013?
    Thanks

BizTalk 2010 projects are not compatible with Visual Studio 2012. To use Visual Studio 2012 with BizTalk 2010 projects, you must install
BizTalk 2013 on the computer that has Visual Studio 2012. The first time you open a BizTalk 2010 project, it is automatically upgraded to the BizTalk 2013/Visual Studio 2012 project system

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Upgrading Web and Business Databases
Upgrading Web or Business databases to a new service tier/performance level does not take the database offline. The database will continue to work through the upgrade operation. At the time of the actual transition to the new performance level temporary
dropping of the connections to the database can happen for a very small duration (typically measured in seconds). If an application has transient fault handling for connection terminations then it is sufficient to protect against dropped connections at the
    end of the upgrade.
Upgrading a Web or Business database to a new service tier involves the following steps:
Determine service tier based on feature capability
Determine an acceptable performance level based on historical resource usage
Why does existing performance for my Web or Business database map to the higher Premium levels?
Tuning your workload to fit a lower performance level
Upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the database after the upgrade

  • Consuming Web Service In Visual Studio

    Hi there:
I'm using the sneak preview of SAP NetWeaver 2004s ABAP Server and am able to consume in Visual Studio 2005 (C#) all the 'delivered' Web Services without any problems.  However, when I create a Web Service through SE37 or SE80 (Wizard WS_WZD_START) using a BAPI or Remote enabled RFC (ie RFC_READ_TABLE) I am getting a error when I try to call it in Visual Studio.  In Visual Studio, I am able to add the reference (http://localhost:8000/sap/bc/srt/rfc/sap/ZRFC_READ_TABLE?WSDL) no problem.  When I call it though, I get {"Unable to connect to the remote server"}, with inner exception {"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"}.
I am providing the credentials (username and password) in the code which are the same as when I go to retrieve the reference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Russ

    Hi Russ,
I had similar problems. You should download the WSDL file to the local file system. Then you can add the downloaded WSDL file as a Web reference rather than using a URL.
    Please note the following issue:
You have to provide the full qualified path <b>including</b> the file name in the text box for the URL and then press Go.
    For example:
    <i>
    C:\Documents and Settings\USERID\My Documents\downloads\SAP\WebServices
    Z_BAPI_CUSTOMER_FIND_VI.wsdl
    </i>
If you just provide the path and try to select the WSDL file this probably does not work. At least it was not working for me.
    Best regards,
    Andre

  • Silverlight 5 and WCF Ria Services Link Visual Studio 2012

Hi, I have a Visual Studio 2010 Project, I installed Visual Studio 2012 and Opened the Project with VS 2012. I can run the Project without issues but at design time the Web Project is no recognized as a valid reference.
My Silverlight application has a WCF RIA Services link to this Project. If I switch to Visual Studio 2010 I have not design time errors.
Why in Visual Studio 2012 my Silverlight 5 Project shows a message indicating the Web Project namespace does not exists?
Obiously the reference does not exists because is a WCF RIA Services link and VS Should infer the namespace.
I've notice that the generated code is being created with the right namespace, it's just that Visual Studio 2012 is not recognizing the classes in the generated code.
    Help please.

  • Debug cloud service in emulator

    Hi:
I have an Azure web site that calls a cloud service.  The cloud service places a request on an Azure storage-based queue.  Then a web role retrieves the request from the queue, and does its work.  This all works great when deployed to Azure,
but I want to debug everything locally in the emulator.  The problem I am having is that I can't figure out how to make the local service run in the emulator.  In the .svc.cs file, with the following line of code:
    CloudStorageAccount sa = CloudStorageAccount.Parse(
    RoleEnvironment.GetConfigurationSettingValue( "DataConnectionString" ) );
theGetConfigurationSettingValue() call returns a 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException' exception.  If I include a RoleEnvironment.IsAvailable call, it returns false regardless of what I set as the service as the startup project.
So the service is running, and my web role can call it, but evidently the service is not running in the emulator.  How can I fix this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Terry
    TerryL

    Dear Terry,
The error 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.SEHException' means you attempted to access the RoleEnvironment without running in the dev fabric or Azure fabric. In general, this may because
you didn't set cloud project as a startup project, just as VIJAYAMANIKANDAN said. Your application was running in the emulator but didn’t work, this was very strange, and thus it is hard for us to reproduce this issue.
By the way, thank you for sharing another method to us, I will mark the above post as the answer.
If you have any other issues, please feel free to ask.

  • Build Tuxedo service in Visual Studio

    Hi!
I need to build the executable for a Tuxedo service. The Visual Studio project
already contains a TuxServer.cp file which has the tpsvrinit function, and tux.c
which was generated by BuildTuxedo. It also contains a sybesql.c file and other
codes files. It was a legacy system, and I don't know much about Tuxedo. The machine
I want to build it on already has Visual Studio, Sybase and Tuxedo installed.
How do I set up the environment so I can build the exe in Visual Studio itself?
    Thanks,
    Caroline

Hello and thank you very much for your answers
Right now I tried RobertH's solution. I'm gona try it also with Coq rouge's link.
    To RobertH's way:
    I inserted the line __declspec(dllexport) unsigned int __stdcall multiply(unsigned char a, unsigned char b);
and my file looked like this:
    #include "stdafx.h"  __declspec(dllexport) unsigned int __stdcall multiply(unsigned char a, unsigned char b);unsigned int multiply(unsigned char a, unsigned char b) {unsigned int c; c = a * b;return c; }
When I tried to compile, i got an errormessage:
error C2373: 'multiply': Neudefinition; unterschiedliche Modifizierer
    in English:
error C2373 'multiply': redefinition; different modifier
I could fix this error by editing the line
unsigned int multiply(unsigned char a, unsigned char b)
    into
unsigned int __stdcall multiply(unsigned char a, unsigned char b)
but i have no idea if this is the correct way. Maybe this is wrong? Now i could compile.
I also could open the function multiply in LabView. I created at the call library function node the inputs and outputs. LabView described the functionprototype as:
    uint16_t ?multiply@@YGIEE@Z(uint8_t a, uint8_t b);
I could start the programm, but I got a LabView errormessage:
Error 1097 occurred at Call Library Function Node in extcodetest.vi
    Possible reason(s):
LabVIEW:  An exception occurred within the external code called by a Call Library Function Node. The exception may have corrupted LabVIEW's memory. Save any work to a new location and restart LabVIEW.
I tried both calling conventions, c and stdcall
At least, i could start the LabView Programm. Thats already a littel success. But i think i will need more help.
Now I'm also gonna try Coq rouge's link.

  • Fault messages in target web service (microsoft visual studio) -experience?

    Hi guys!
We use async scenario : SAP_R3 (ABAP Proxy) -> XI -> Web Service (SOAP). Target web service is created in microsoft visual studio. Standard scenario worx fine. We send data from r3, the web service processes them. However, we want to use also fault messages in case, there will be exception rised in the target web service and let operator in sxmb monitor know, that there's a problem. These fault messages should be used as acknowledgement. But we have serious problem with implementing fault messages in the target web service in the visual studio. Does someone have experience with this?

  • Language services in Visual Studio-based application (isolated mode)

    Hello everybody,
I’m developing a Visual Studio-based application in isolated mode (VS 2013). So far everything has gone smoothly, I have programmed some VSPackages, they manage their windows with their items, doing their things.
The problem arising is how to open a C# file (.cs) in the editor and have syntax coloring, statement completion and the rest of features provided by the language service. If I use VsShellUtilities.OpenDocument() the C# file is opened, but I have no language-specific
    support.
I have read Language Services part of the Visual Studio SDK tutorial and now I’m exploring the Projects part, but I don’t think I need a new project type or language service. I think I would use the C# language service provided by VS “as is”. Should I load
    it, how?
I would appreciate any suggestions and hints.
    Pedro.

    Hi Pedro,
The "isolated" shell does not ship with, nor does it allow the loading of the visual studio languages. You cannot open a C#, VB .NET, or C++ project in the isolated shell, as their respective packages are explicitly prevented from
    loading into the isolated shell.
If you have a dependency on the C# language service, then you will need to integrate with Visual Studio itself.
    Sincerely,
    Ed Dore

  • Can't see table data from Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web

    Hello!
I have a problem and I can't see neither the table data nor the table definition for my database inside Visual Studio Express 2013 for Web, Server Explorer. When I right click it just says refresh, copy or properies.
    Does anyone know what's wrong?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi J1m,
According to your description, I make a test on my computer and I am able to reproduce your issue. Firstly, I install the Visual Studio 2013 express for web successfully, create a project and connect to SQL Server database. Then I right click one table,
and I can see all the options including ‘Show Table Data ’, ‘Open Table Definition ’, ‘Copy’, ‘Refresh’, and ‘Properties’. Next, I uninstall the SQL Server data tools, and restart the Visual Studio, right click on table, and only find  the three options
‘Copy’, ‘Refresh’, ‘Properties’ as the following screenshot, which is the same scenario with yours.
Based on my test, the issue could be due to the missing or corrupt SQL Server Data Tools. To work around the issue, you should install the latest SQL Server data tools for Visual Studio 2013. You could  download the
ISO file for SQL Server data tools and extract the ISO files to your hard drive following the methods in this
article, and install the data tools. Please restart your computer after you complete the installation.
