Can't do final update(s) for newly installed OSX 10.2.8

Hello,
I'm just about done with an Archive and Install of OSX 10.2.8. (I started with a Retail Install of 10.2.3, upgraded to 10.2.6, and finally to 10.2.8. Did the Disk Repairs, Repair Disk Permissions at each step, and finished with a DiskWarrior run. I have my Intego internet security software running again, have upgraded the Macromedia flash products, and the Excel X to v. 10.1.7 -- the latter two because of vulnerabilities reported last week.
However, I am unable at his time to finish up because of two things left to do:
1. I haven't been able to run Software Update since my archive and install to OSX 10.2.8. I get the error message "Software update unable to connect to the internet. Please check your configuration and try again". This most likely has to do with a step during the installation wherein I was unable to provide data called for; it was the step after "Destination", followed by "Installation Type". Do you agree, or is it something else?
2. I'm incomplete with respect to one of two Apple security updates for OSX 10.2.8 since the combo update of October 3, 2003.
(a) The first was the security update of 25 Jan. 2005 "Security Update 2005-001", which I downloaded and installed without a problem. (I did a Disk Repair using the Install CD and ran Repair Disk Permissions under the boot volume as instructed.)
(b) The second was the security update of May 9, 2005 labelled "iTunes4.8". When you click on the download icon, it routes you over to iTunes 6.0.4, which downloads as "iTunes604.dmg"; clicking on the disk image results in the error message "Unable to verify "iTunes604.dmg". (My current version of iTunes is v.4.0.1.) There are several threads running on problems encountered with software upgrades to iTunes 6.0.2. I don't know what to do here.
I've desisted from connecting to the internet because of the non-operational Software Update, and because I haven't been able to do the "ITunes4.8" security upgrade.
I would very much appreciate your thoughts.

In upgrading from Jaguar to Panther, what is the difference between the installation options described in the Mac OS X Panther v10.3 Installation and Setup Guide:
A) "Upgrade Mac OS X" and
B) "Archive and Install" with the "Preserve Users and Network Settings" box checked.
The Guide says that Option A "preserves all the user accounts and home folders on your computer, your network settings and preferences, and any software you have installed. When you upgrade Mac OS X, the Setup Assistant appears when the installation finishes so you can register your copy of Mac OS X". Is this the option called "Migrating".
By contrast, the Guide describes Option B "Archive and Install" as "Moves existing system files to a folder named Previous System, then installs a new copy of Mac OS X. You cannot start up your computer using the Previous System folder." The box checked "imports existing user accounts, their home folders, and your network settings into the new system. You will skip the Stup (sic) Assistant when installation is complete."
I understand the English but what are the practical ramifications of exercising the options? On its face Option B creates a Previous System folder and skips Setup Assistant -- perhaps safer and saves a little time? And the Previous System folder is available in case of updater's remorse? Are there other issues encountered in practice?

There is no serial number and you don't need one. What you need for a subscription is to SIGN IN within Acrobat, so it knows the subscriptions you own.

Why would it take the Finder hours to index the mac contents on a newly installed OSX. (HD was swiped before install)

Newly installed OSX 10.8 crashes on restart

I downloaded OS X 10.8 to my 2009 MacBook Pro but after it installs, the computer crashes on restart. I never get beyond the apple logo. Suggestions?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Also, using a commercial (not residential) broadband account is not a good way to download Mac Os X software updates. The administrator might have restrictions for downloading files you aren't aware of that can restrict the installation of the software.
Make sure your Mac has enough free disk space. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon on your Desktop, then click: Get Info. In the Get Info window, click the discovery triangle so it's facing down. You will see; Capacity and Available Make sure you have 10% available disk space, 15% is better. Insufficient available space, can cause performance issues, system corruption, and possible loss of data.
Repair Disk Permissions:
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid, then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

Where I can find documentation and updated drivers for Labview 3.1.1?

I'm running LabView 3.1.1 on a PowerMac 7600 and I have run into some difficulties geting it to work properly. The documentation has been lost and I cannot find it online anywhere. Any help with this and updated drivers would be greatly appreciated.

I have LV manuals going back to version 1. I still have a couple of systems operating in version 3 so I will not give up my manuals, but I may be able to help in some way. They are a set of eight books totalling about 6 inches thick. Is there something specific I may be able to help with?
A recent posting on this forum was from a museum of old computers and early LV systems. They were looking for stuff older than yours. I don't know if they could help or not.

since ovi suite told you that there is an update available, you didn't download it?
if you update through OTA it just downloads the necessary files that must be updated, using ovi suite installs the entire firmware.
basically its the same thing. only the second option being larger

I am new in using BIP which is integrated with Siebel. I am using a Data Template. My issue is, when I create new records, they are not included when I generate reports. Thus, these new records exists in back-end but not displayed in BIP.

check whether in the report, you enable the user document cache option, remove that.

Can't print "Form Fields Only" from newly-installed Acrobat Reader XI

I have created numerous forms for our agency on which our employees used (in previous versions of Acrobat Reader) the "Form Fields Only" print function. We finally got the boss to give us the OK to upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro for me, and Acrobat Reader XI for the employees. However, they open the same forms we've been using and find that they no longer have the menu option to choose "Form Fields Only" for printing purposes. I would be very grateful to anyone who might be able to steer me in the right direction as to how I resolve this issue. Unfortunately, the job does not afford me a lot of time for research and "playing" with new software, and we need to have these forms work for us by Thursday. Help, please! And Merry Christmas to everyone!

One possible workaround is to export the form data and then import it into a "blank" version of the same file, that has only the form fields. This would require using a script to export and import the data, and to create that additional version of the file for printing purposes.
Or you can put the file's contents on a non-printable layer when creating it...

Are we missing any Management Packs for newly installed services/applications

Hello!
Would it be possible to get a report or alarm when new server roles, services, applications etc. are installed on the monitored Windows Servers in SCOM 2012 SP1, but there are no Management Packs installed to monitor the new services?
For example on a newly provisioned Windows Server, the customer installs SQL 2008, but we don’t have the SQL 2008 SCOM Management Pack. How can we get a notification that we have a new Service installed there but no MP to monitor it.

I purchased five movies for download and having nothing but problems getting them downloaded. I keep receiving error messages and the download stops and I have to restart it, just to get another minute worth of download with each restart. Now Apple has my money and I have nothing.

You can set the trace level in the SAP/Java Gui dynamically :
Call transaction SMICM
Choose the menu Goto → Trace Level → Set
In the pop-up window, set the desired level (0,1,2,3)
To switch on an /nSMICM or ICM HTTP trace via command line you should go to
usr\sap\<SID>\<instance_number>\exe directory and run the icmon program with the following command:
icmon◦◦pf=\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile\<SID>_<instance_name>_<HOST>
where you fill in the SID, instance name and host corresponding to your system.
The icmon program is interactive and to increase trace level you must write
"+" and pres enter.To quit you must write "q" and press enter.
The trace will be written◦to the following file: usr\sap\<SID>\<instance_number>\work\dev_icm
