Can't export to Excel
Using GRC 5.3 SP10, I ran an SQL query in CC debugger to get the data I needed. When I right click and choose "Export to Excel" - Excel opens but no data comes in. I get a message that says as much. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,

ALV TO EXCEL PROBLEM? ( 90 COLUMNS ALV CAN'T EXPORT TO EXCEL NORMALLY)
HI ABAPERS,
anyone have a alv that have over 90 columns and want to export to excel have experienced abnormal formating (like the header row show only up to 60 column and the rest show up in next row) and the data show in separate line.
anyway can have a better format?
also after 90 columns show up on alv, it can't show anymore except modify the layout in run time.
can we do something before that?
thanks & regards,
HOWARDHi HOWARD,
My Report ouput having more than 90 columns in ALV, while downloading data from ALV to Excel sheet am facing alignment problem. (ie) the output column > 66 are appearing in next line of the excel sheet leads to improper alignment.
Pls give me a solution as u had already come across this issue..
Thank & Regards,
Paramesh. -
Hi, this is not a question, this is an affirmation: a password protected numbers spreadsheet can not be exported in excel (or any other format)!
Yes, it can, but applying the password protection needs to be done as part of the export process: http://help.apple.com/numbers/mac/3.2/#/tan886afc61b
If you are asking if the password protect prevents the export, no, not if the user has the password (and can open it). -
Can't export to Excel from SAP after upgrade
Hi there,
We couldn't export to Excel after upgrading SAP from 2007B PL15 to 8.81 Pl07.
We tried all workstations as well as server itself and encountered below error upon exporting to Excel.
"AutoOpen.xls cannot be accessed. The file may be corrupted, loated on a server that is not responding, or read only."
Microsoft Excel Folder under "General Settings >> Path tab" has been defined.
If you have a solution or workaround for the above error, kindly share with me.
Thank you.

Can i export an excel file to my I-Cal & if so how?
Hi. I have a large amount of data/dates in an excel file and I would like to easily export these into my I-Cal. Please advise.
But if it's a big album, be sure to create a new folder on the desktop first, to export them into. Having hundreds of individual photos on your desktop will slow your computer to a crawl.

After exporting the whole workbook to a single pdf file, page sizes are inconsistent. When viewing the document in full screen, some pages show up as 25% zoomed, others as 34%. I could re-print the exported pdf file to pdf in Acrobat Std, and that way I could get the same page size throughout the document, but then I loose my bookmarks, which I don't want.
I have already set the page size to A4 in Excel, but that's not where my problem lies. any help, hint is appreciated.A good place to start is Karl Heinz Kremer's blog, where he has a few examples:

Hi All,
I want to output a BIP report in excel 2007. If I would develop the RTF template in excel 2007 then would the output be also in excel 2007 or this depends upon what version of microsoft office is implemented on the server where BIP is installed ?
I know this could be a silly question but could anyone please reply to this?
Thanks,
RonnyThanks Domnic for the reply,
So this means that if I would develop my rtf template in word 2007 and then try to view the output as "Excel" it would show me in excel 2007, right?
Thanks,

Can't Export this query to Excel v1.5.4 5940
All,
I have this query that I can't export to excel.
SELECT '01' ,
'<$25',
COUNT(*),
SUM(salary)
FROM HR.employees
WHERE department_id = '30'
AND salary < 6000
Query returns results, just can't export to excel.. Tried giving the literals alternate column names ....no effect.
Thanks,Hi Charles,
This issue has been logged as a bug.
I know that these export issues are been actively worked on at the moment for out next major release.
There is a workaround outlined here, although it not a great solution it may get you out of a bind in this one case.
Re: Export will not work - sample query pasted
CREATE VIEW workaround AS
SELECT '01' AS col1 ,
'<$25' AS col2,
COUNT(*) AS col3,
SUM(salary) AS col4
FROM HR.employees
WHERE department_id = '30'
AND salary < 6000 ;
SELECT * FROM workaround; -- export this result.

ALV List export to Excel when program is run in background
Hello,
I am running into an issue with a custom ALV report which contains an export to Excel option on the input screen. However, when I attempt to run the report in background due to high volume of records/expected performance constraints, the job fails to produce a spool when the "export to Excel" option is selected. When I deselect that option, the background job successfully generates a spool, which I can then export to Excel (albeit the formatting will not look the same).
Is the above an accurate statement or does anyone know of a way where either;
1) The background job can create and store the Excel output into a cached directory?
2) The spool generated, when exported to Excel, can match the format of the foreground Excel output?
Thanks in advancce.Check out the sample program of the provided link ..

Export to Excel will not produce more than 2000 rows
I am trying to export a sharepoint list to excel that has around 8000 items in it, however when it does...i'm only able to see 2000 entries and the other 6000 are missing.
I'm working with SharePoint 2013 Enterprise and Excel 2013.
Would anyone have some help to offer me on why this is no producting all of the entries in the list?Hi Jacob,
According to your description, my understanding is that only 2000 items can be exported to excel in SharePoint list.
I recommend to check if there are any indexed columns(which are enforced to have unique values) in the list.
If yes, please remove the indexes from the columns in the list to see if the issue still occurs.
For test, please export another large list to see if the issue still occurs.
Thanks,
Victoria

Problem with numeric columns when ADF table exported to Excel
Hi,
We have a ADF table on a page which can be exported to excel spreadsheet using the <Af:ExportCollectionActionListener>. The adf table is within panel collection.
There are many numeric columns in this table and there is <af:convertnumber> used on these columns. No other properties are changed on the <af:convertnumber> tag, everything is default. And no formatting is applied on the view object attributes as well. When a user from US is exporting the table to excel everything works well no issues. But a Netherlands or French user exports the excel, the numeric values which have decimal point are shown as left aligned and the whole numbers in the same column are right aligned. As a result when the user is trying to sum the entire column only the right aligned numbers are getting added.
I am not sure what is the issue here ?
HAs someone seen this scenario before ?
Am I missing anything here - any property setting ?
The numbers are shown like this in the excel exported from table.

We have Crystal Reports XI R1 in our .NET application. We are able to export our reports to Excel version 2002 or earlier but can't export to Excel 2003. Is there a patch or a workaround?
Hi Bobbie. Understood.
I am not aware of any issues specific to Excel 2003. Now, I am aware of issues when WIN 2003 server is updated with SP2. And yes, the latest Crystal Reports Service Pack should resolve that issue.
To deploy the new files to your server, you will need to either create a new deployment project using the CR for .NET msm files, or use the msi. You can not run the SP on computers that only have the CR runtime. The location of the msm and msi files is describe in [this|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/CrystalReportsforVisualStudio.NETRuntimeDistribution-Versions9.1to12.0] wiki.
Most likely, in your situation (assuming this is a web app), it will be easiest to run the msi. All you will need is to enter the correct keycode when you are prompted.

Export to Excel, via a Link on action page
I have two questions.
1) How can I export to excel, via a link. So for example I have a form and a user clicks submit and I cfoutput the data in a table on the same page (action page is the same as the input page). Now, once the data is output, I would like a link on that same page so the user can click and it will export the table to Excel.
I have tried:
<cfheader name="Content-Disposition" value="attachment; filename=test.xls">
<cfcontent type="application/msexcel">
<cfoutput query="qTest">
<table>
<tr>
<th>Account</th>
<th>Amount</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>#qTest.ACCOUNT#</td>
<td>#NumberFormat('#qTest.TotalAmt#', "_(999,999,999.99)")#</td>
</tr>
</table>
</cfoutput>
But once the page is loaded it tries to export automatically. How can I get it to export via a link?
Also, someone suggested wrapping the cfoutput in a <cfsavecontent variable="xyz"> tag, but once I do that, how do I put the "xyz" variable into the <cfcontent> tag? Or where do I use it?
Thanks guysHere's some additional ways that you can format your output Excel Spreadsheet using CSS - I just copied this from one of my applications to give you an idea. Outputting to Excel is really nice because you can email the file off and you can put links into the cells or whatever. I normally display on the screen, then have the Excel Output button and just copy the whole query over to the Excel output page - it works for Office 2000 to 2007, haven't checked it on later versions. I kept this simple, but you can do all sorts of things with the Styles to make it look pretty. I did not include the query stuff as that would just clutter this up, but you'll get the picture.

I have a requirement to produce reports that can be exported to Excel along with cell calculation formulas. The cell formulas will do the same calculations as done in the report. The reports will be created in our company using Oracle Reports, then exported to Excel for use by our customer. This is a government requirement (who else!) to allow them to do "what if" scenarios with the reported data. Is there any way to populate Excel worksheet cells with formulas as well as data? The reports will vary in length and content depending on user selections so I can't take a "one size fits all" approach.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.Can't you use the same library to do that? Apache POI for instance has formula support

When attempting to open .XLS files in Numbers, the format is not recognized. When the format is .XLSX, the format is recognized. Why is it this way? It's still much more common for folks to have the .XLS file format on their excel files. Why would Numbers not be backwards-compatible?
Additionally, to state in the benefits of this program that one can save to 'Excel' is a little misleading. You can't save to anything except .numbers. Sure, you can export to Excel (with file extension .XLS, I might add), but you can't save or save-as.
Does anyone else see the irony in being able to export to .XLS but not be able to open an .XLS?
There is something to be said for clarity.
You can't expect folks to have Numbers and Excel on their systems, so how else are they supposed to open .XLS files in Numbers?
And I don't need to see another advertisement for NeoOffice or OpenOffice here, thanks. I'd actually like Numbers to be a little more sensible.
That is all.When the advertisements were written, there was no Lion so we were able to Save As Excel.
At thiqs time there is no longer Save As command under Lion but the feature is always available.
When your editing task is ended, you are free to use this scheme:
File > Duplicate
File > Save and in the dialog you will have the option save as Excel.
Numbers isn't and I hope that it will not become an Excel editor.
Its resources contain a flag defining it this way.
I posted several times a script editing this resource.
This morning I'm not in a mood allowing me to do your duty.
