Noted - there is one under "letterlike characters" but it wouldn't go into document.

If the font has been made correctly, you can place it by pressing Option+Shift+8. Example, 45°. If nothing happens, then that font doesn't have a degree glyph (or at least not in the correct place) and you'll have to use a different font to produce one.

I bought a very nice Flash application that rotate images, and text of any color and size. It use an XML input file.
I've posted here, a complete copy, so any of you can download, view and use it freely.
I would appreciate if any of you know how to do, so that the text displayed, including the characters I use in my language (Spanish), such as á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, and other special characters.
In fact, I could not find a way to do it, because I'm not expert Flash, and less in ActionScript.

Can't find where to sign in with my Microsoft acco...

I'm not even sure how well I can explain what is not working because I don't understand.
I have been trying to create a Skype account. I chose to log in with my Microsoft account. Then when it asks me for a user name, it won't let me use my email. How would I know what my user name is? I didn't give them one. At least not that I know of. So I tried to request that they send me my user name. However, it took me to my hotmail account which asked me if I wanted to change my log in information at that site. I don't. But I never recieved any emails from Skype to give me my user name. I tried this a couple of times with the same result. Then it told me that I have already request the information too many times for security purposes. At some point in all of this, I was prompted to make sure I had the latest version of Skype. But installation stalled in the middle because I lacked...wait for it...my user name. *sigh* I can't do any thing without that crazy user name that I don't seem to have (or if I have it, I sure don't remember it!). Sometimes I appear to be logged in and then suddently I'm out in the cold again. I don't know why. I can't tell what is going on. So I tried to find a ccustomer support email address. None to be found. But there's pop up that gives me ways to log in; however, none of them really seem to work and/or address my specific problem. *huge sigh* So I come to these forums; however, I get the same run around from the log in system because it wants me to use that crazy user name instead of my email. If I had the user name, I don't think I'd have a problem. I can't really explain what happened any better than this, because I have no idea what was going on or why. I'm so frustrated right now that I can't seem to even think straight. Who knows if I'll even be able to make it back here to see if anyone ever tries to answer this confusing post. After all, I don't have that absolutely necessary but elusive user name. I'm one very sad, confused, discouraged, and frustrated woman right about now. I'm not new at registering for things, so this snafu has taken me totally off guard.
I guess I should thank anyone who may try to answer this post now since I may never find my way back in here again without that user name. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure why you believe you need a Skype name to sign into the service when your Microsoft account is all that is needed. You can either sign in with your Skype user name or Microsoft account name. Creating a name here on the forums is something else as well.

u cant have both numeric and alphanumeric in single word "XX0000". U can make the same as "XXXXXX"
and there should be a specific project ID and Project ID and coding mask should be separated by a special character.
u can make the coding mask as explained below
   Project ID     CODING MASK
1) A               :XX-0000-0000
2) A               :XXXXXX-0000

How to find Special Characters in a table ?

Hi,
I have a problem, during a data upload by the client, some special characters were uploaded in the database.
Sample data : " AC Power Cord Denmark "
I want to find all records containing such special characters and update them.
TOAD is able to display these characters but when i copy them onto the query... it doesnt work.
Can we know which encoding is that ? or do something to take care of this ?

Indesign CS 5.5 can't find fonts (..from User Folder, OSX 10.6.8)

Hello there,
Indesign CS5 can't find any font that is located in my User folder. (MacintoshHD > User > library > fonts).
The problem is only in OSX 10.6.x and CS 5.
Also installed CS3 has no problems to find the already installed fonts.
And on a second Hardrive I've also System 10.5.x. INDESIGN both Versions have no problems to find the fonts in that system.
Only the Combination from CS5 and OSX 10.6.x has that problem.
Some Tricks already posted here, for example to put the missing fonts in the main structure (MacintoshHD > library > fonts) works,
also if creating a special »Document Fonts« file in the same folder, whre the problem documents are located.
BUT: This is all just a temporary solution. It doesn't solve the main problem.
Maybe it's, because the 10.6.x ist a upgrade from a 10.5.x TimeMashine Backup with the CreativeSuite already installed.
So maybe I should install all the CS5 stuff new?
Or is it a problem with the Login Structure? I'm the only person working on my machine. So I'm logged with full Name and as »admin«.
My User-Folder with my special preferences and fonts is named with another name (my nickname).
I'm not such a Computerfreak…and don't know if that does means anything. No problems at all with that since years.

But it's still the same. CS5 can't find the fonts. One special thing I have to add: One font, placed in the »Users > fontfolder, it finds the »regular « font style but not the »bold«.
It's an »TT« font suitcase. (EngraversOldEnglish).
Any ideas?

Finding special characters

I have a table which has got a customer detail field which should have only alpahbets and numbers ie a to z, A to Z , 0 to 9.However due to typo there are some special chars entered in this field.
How can i find all the rows with special char in this field. is there a function or easy way to do it. I am using 10g version of oracle.

Can't Find Backup Restored to Hardrive

I tried to restore a Time Machine backup of the hard drive by starting with a "clean install" of Snow Leopard - booting up while holding down the 'c' key - because restoring the hard drive backup from Time Machine required copying more than 270,000 files and would take 3 hours.
But when I chose this method, I received an error message that there wasn't enough room on the hard drive.
Huh?
The hard drive had 151 GB of available space on a 160 GB hard drive and I was restoring a hard drive backup from Time Machine of 54 GB.
151 GB of free space is not enough to restore a backup of 54 GB in size?
Hence, I tried the following method of restoring the hard drive backup from Time Machine.

I restored a Hard Drive backup from time machine when I had Snow Leopard installed on the machine.
The hard drive memory was reduced by the size of the backup.
The hard drive showed the exact contents as before - not the restored backup - as I chose the "replacement" option when backing up.

Only Macintosh HD was shown.

ok, I have *no idea* what you did but here are the options you have when restoring the whole system drive from Time machine.
1. full system restore. you boot from the install DVD and use the "restore system from backup" from the utilities menu. that wipes your hard drive and restores it to the state it was in at the backup time.
2. you do an erase and install of Snow leopard and then use migration assistant to migrate your data from the TM backup. you can do it during the original computer setup after the install is completed or later using migration assistant.
did you use any of these methods? if not, what did you do?

How can I uninstall when I can't find it?

I just upgraded to OS Mountain Lion. Now I'm trying to upgrade my security software, but it keeps telling me a past antivirus is still installed and I have to uninstall it. I can't find any other signs of the old antivirus but I keep getting the same message. I was able to find the original app and trashed it, but that didn't do it. I can't find any other items that have anything to do with the old kaspersky. How do I uninstall it if I can't even find it?

Can anyone tell me something about usage special characters in search cryteria (e.g. in transaction CN43N field POSID - I'm looking for some WBSs). I have try to find answer, but I'm not able to. I know about characters + and * , but I wonder are there any more. If yes, please tell me what do they mean

Problems displaying french special characters

we are developing a multi-lingual WebDynpro application. The languages are set correct and the translation for all parts (portal, xls-files) works fine. Except the correct displaying of WebDynproResourceBundle-files.
Example:
We use the french property file with the content:
Enl\u00c3\u00a8vement
When calling this value, it displays:
EnlÃ¨vement
instead of
Enlèvement
I already tried to set the jvm system parameter for encoding to latin1 and latin2. But this didn't help.
Does anybody know, what parameter I have to set to have this french special signs displayed the right way?

They are displayed wrongly, when executing the WebDynpro application. Inside the NWDS editor the display is like that:
