Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

When i connect the device iTunes said" This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed.Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes,then install the 64-bit version of iTune". I can't restore my iPhone! Help!

I tried to restore my iphone, because I was experiencing problems synching the iphone. I tried to restore it, and now the iPhone won't restore stating that the device isn't connected to iTunes, which it is. It starts connected, but as the software starts its job, the iPhone disconnects, and now it has nothing on it, except a yellow warning sign with an exclamation point in the middle saying to connect to iTines? What do I do now? My iTunes and iPhone software are the most up to date. I don't know why I was having synching problems again, but restore made matters worse!

During the restore process it still verifies account info on the AT&T side. Just wait until tomorrow after 10:30 am EDT and try again. If it still doesn't work then there may be a problem, until then we'll just assume that you cannot restore because of the planned maintenance that is taking place.
In the mean time, if you were with AT&T previously, just put your iPhone sim card in your old phone if you need the use of the phone.

The screen is frozen on the "connect to iTunes" symbol. When I connect to iTunes it says I must restore, when I try to restore it says the download was corrupted and cant be completed. Tried several times.

UK developer need ITIN or EIN?

So I know that to submit my book and get an account I need a number, I am filling out the w7 form to get an ITIN number but it looks like it takes weeks and weeks. I also need a signed letter from apple according to all the sites saying that I need an ITIN.
My questions are -
1. How do I get a signed letter from apple stating I need an ITIN
2. Can I get an EIN number instead? In this thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/17534402#17534402 the guy got an EIN in 13 mins and 40 secs. How and where?

We get the EIN number (because we are a company) in half an hour. We had to fax the form to the authority, then we talked on the phone with the officials and in the end he has given us a number. Unfortunately, the number is now not in the IRS-database, this can take up to three weeks, so we now have to wait again.

3GS Activation, 3GS Activation

I have just update to IOS 6.0 on my 3GS. Everythings seem fine.
But after my iPhone reboot it ask cannot detect my sim card and
also cannot activate my phone! I try and try and try by still cannot activate.
Can anyone help? How can I activate my phone again?
I have try iTunes but also cannot and there is error too.
It is now day 3 without my 3GS! Is apple blocking my activation?

This may work, depending on the circumstances.
1 Turn the iPhone off
2 Hold the power for 3 seconds
3 Don't release the power, then hold down home button for 10 seconds
4 Let go of the power but continue holding home for 15 seconds
You should then see connect to iTunes/a black screen, open up iTines and it should say iPhone detected in recovery mode you will need to restore. Click ok then restore it should take roughly 15 minutes depending on your broadband connection. NOTE: You WILL lose ALL data, if you backed up when the restore is finished it will say set up as a new iPhone/Restore Form backup (if you have one) or if you backed up to iCloud then go through the setup on the phone and then restore from iCloud

ICloud erase mode

My phone was stolen 3 weeks back and I too had the same issue. Find my iphone was turned off, i don't know how.. I put the phone in lost mode and then erase mode. I brought a new iphone 4s and after 2 weeks, suddenly all of my contacts got disappeared from my iCloud, Mac Contacts, iPhone without any reason. I tried to do a restore iPhone and the contacts came back but disappeared in fraction of second. Used Backup from old data and the same had happened.
Out of no reason I checked with photos and suddenly, I could get the photo of the guy who stole my iphone. I immediately synced that pic to iPhotos. that displayed all info(date, time, camera used, flash on) except the location services.
I logged into iCloud.com to see if the phone got erase. But it still showed erase mode activated. Phone will erase the data once it is connected to internet. But without connection to internet, that guys pics would not have come. I guess there is something about Activation lock to be still active and deactivate which does not work properly.
Please help

Login to your account and see if it will accept a cancel but usually it will not. Do not turn your iPhone on, instead connect to iTines and backup the iPhone, then if it erases restore the backup.
