Can't get my iPod to connect to my iTunes

Received the new iPod for Xmas, my brother inlaw go one to. To cut a long story short - I copied his iTunes to my iPod about 1500 songs. Now I am home and installed iTunes onto my PC copied my CDs to iTunes about 2500 songs. However when I connect the USB to my iPod and PC it does not come up in itunes or anywere else. Under Preferences - iPod tab it shows "No iPod connected" ! How can I connect with out having to "reset All Settings" = lose my songs on my iPod ? HELP

I am having the same problem. I have both a laptop, which I used first for the ipod, and a desktop which I have loaded most of my music collection into. My ipod is recognised by itunes on my laptop but is not recognised by itunes on my desktop. I have gone through all the troubleshooting tips aside from 'restore the ipod' as I don't want to lose the music on my ipod. My ipod is recognised on 'my computer' on both my desktop and laptop. Frustration set in long ago!!! Any help for this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Can't get my Ipod to connect to the Wifi?

Never had this issue before it has always connected fine. Now all of a sudden I can't get it to connect at all. I have reset the network and went through all the steps and still nothing. Everything else connects to the wifi such as computer, kindles, phones.. Ugh this is really frustrating me. Please help.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Powered off and then back on your router

Any error messages?
Does the iPod see the network(s)?
Does the iPod successfully connect to other networks?

ok so i updated my ipod touch 3rd generation two days ago and i tried to connect it to my itunes last night. it said i had to update my itunes to the newest version 7.1 so that my ipod could connect if not it just charges and i tried to update my itunes and i can't. i dont know whats going on and i dont know what to do?? can anyone help

HT1386 I can't get my iPod Classic to sync with iTunes. My iPod Classic is up to date, and i have downloaded the latest version of iTunes. When trying to sync, it gives the message "The iPod "Brad D's iPod" cannot be synced because it cannot be found."

Do I have to un-install and re-install iTunes or do I have to restore my iPod Classic (I don't want to lose everything in my music library)?

Clicking sounds from an iPod that has a hard drive for storage is not a good thing. It usually means the hard drive is faulty. That is the likely reason for getting an error during the attempt to Restore.
If you use a Mac, you can try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

If it goes into Disk Mode, connect the iPod and instead of running iTunes, run Disk Utility. Does the iPod appear in the Disk Utility sidebar? If it does, select the iPod device in the sidebar, not the volume indented below the device (if there is one). Go to the Erase tab. Set the Format to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Name does not matter. Click on Security Options and choose to write a single pass of zeros over the entire disk. This serves as a good "stress test" for the iPod's hard drive. Back on the main window, click Erase.
This takes longer than a regular erase, but you should see steady progress. If it errors out, or stalls for a LONG time (like hours), the hard drive is likely to be faulty.
If it completes successfully, quit Disk Utility, run iTunes and try to do another Restore

Can't get the Ipod to connect properly

here is the problem
- I have reinstalled itunes, and the drivers, and windows
- I have tried diffrent machines, and diffent usb drives.
After reinstaling windows and installing the drivers, I restart as the program tells me. I then plug in the ipod and it says USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE. Then says Apple IPOD. After that it freezes there for about 45 minues (I get tired of waiting). During this time I can move the mouse but I can't select anything. After Removing the plug I get Device installed succesfully.
Then I restart after the reboot I plug in the Ipod. I don't get a disc drive, itunes doesn't recongize the ipod. And it tells me not to remove. I then reboot the ipod. The last time I tried it I heard a grind come out of the ipod.

i just got a new ipod touch (my first ever) so i don't really know much about it as yet however i got the hang of how to get songs on it but when i'm trying to sync it with my pc after getting some apps from itunes..it won't sync...so i don't know if there's something i'm not doing right so i would the step by step procedures in getting these apps on my ipod touch..please!

I had the same problem and noticed a lot of different topics about it so i just posted it here....what i did was updated my itunes then rebooted my computer then updated my ipod and rebooted my computer then restored my ipod, disconnected it from the computer then plugged it back in and it worked! good luck hope this works for you

When I open the iTunes store all album artwork is a black box. This goes for all songs in my library as well as any song, album, movie that is displayed in the iTunes store. If I try to watch a movie trailer, I get the audio but not the video. This just started happening this week.

I've recently purchased a new computer, and installed itunes onto it. I've plugged in my ipod touch and itunes does not respond to it at all. no sync options, or anything. please help.

Before you do sync, copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer. Otherwise on the initial sync it WILL wipe the content of the iPod and replace it with the blank library from the new computer.

Can't get 2 Ipods onto one computer system-one Ipod frozen

I got 2 Ipods for my kids for xmas. I can only get one Ipod to connect to the computer. I went to the Apple store and spoke directly to an associate that said, there is no problem it will be fine. I connected the Ipod to charge the battery and it said do not disconnect. However, my computer sends a message that said, USB port not recognized, please disconnet immediately. I did and know my daughters Ipod is frozen with do not disconnect on it. We have the 30GB Ipods and they have not been able to do anything with it since they got it for xmas. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

Hey, I went and called Apple Support and actualy got a person!!! He talked me through some opening and adding information on my computer and both my girls can have their Ipods connect now. Not at the same time, just the computer recognizes both Ipods and they can do their downloads.
