Can't open all slides in project.

I've created a long project with 400 slides in Captivate 4 running Windows XP (4 GB RAM). After reopening, there are only 145 slides visible. However, the tooltip visible on the list of the recent projects shows there are 400 slides. How to open all the slides?

400 eh? That's only about 350 more than the typical recommended upper limit of 50-65.
Likely there won't be a way to open the rest. You can try the following:
Create a new blank project sized identically to the original. Then try importing segments into the new project.

yes i do that on my desktop but i dont have middle click option on laptop and even in the right click context the ''open all in tabs'' option is desplayed but is in light color i.e. not functional. I am able to open PDFs from the Internet normally using the Adobe Reader X plugin, but for some reason, it doesn't kick in when I open local PDF files.
I am using Firefox 4.0.1 and Adobe Reader X.

Do you have any graphics editing software like photoshop or something similar.?
Surely you can just open both images, resize the image you want to add, then copy and paste it into the main image. Save this as a new file and set it as the background.
If you need a graphics editing program you can download one called The Gimp for free. Just make sure you have X11 installed.

Got a Nikon D800 and can't open all RAW-files ending .NEF Most of them no problem, but some I just can't.

Because many of the camera makers slightly alter their versions of their raw format whenever they release a new camera model.
Nikon does it, Canon does it, and also several other camera makers.
There is not a single version of NEF that all Nikon cameras use, nor a single version of CR2 for all Canon models.
Here is a list of supported cameras and the required ACR plugin needed to open the raw files.
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
Versions of ACR are specific to each version of Photoshop.
Older versions of PS cannot use the latest version of ACR.
You need to download the latest version of Adobe DNG Converter.
This will convert your newer D800 files to DNGs that can then be opened in older versions like CS5.
Be aware DNG only works on folders of files, not individual files. Select the FOLDER not a single file

Try going to your home folder/library/preferences. If you try and start a Microsoft Application and it fails then the relevant preference files should be towards the top. Drag the newer Microsoft preferences to the trash but don't delete them yet, the preferences should recreate when you launch Word again. Try and launch Word again and see what occurs. Another quick way to test is to create a new user and then launch a Microsoft App if they work fine then there probaly is a corrupt prefence in your user that's screwing it up.

Try quitting all apps and then reset the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Do this for all apps that appear there. Then reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

If you export the project from FCE you can import the QuickTime into FCP. You can do limited work to it like adding titles.

Adjust Volume Across All Slides In Project

Captivate v5.5
Does anyone have any experience in working with the Audio/Edit/Adjust Volume option in Captivate v5.5?
I have created a project over a few days and the level of volume of some of the slides varies - some louder some not so loud and I now need to set the same audio level for all the slides.
I have tried the above option (for the project) but this makes no difference.
Can anyone help me with suggested settings for the above that will result in the same volume level for all slides?

My request for guidance was due to the fact I could not get the "Noramlise" option to work for my project's entire audio - and assumed I was doing something wrong.
In fact I dont think I was doing anything wrong...I think it is Captivate that is at fault!!!!
Here is the situation - in full.
Working in v5.5 I want to "normalise" the audio of all slides in a project.
I go: Audio/Edit/Project and get following:
(Keep in mind...I selected "Project").
Next I open "Adjust Volume"
Select "Normalise" and click OK....
The result was no change to my project audio - and that was why I contacted the forum.
Since then I have found out what would seem to be a bug or a design fault (same thing some would say)
Despite my selecting "Project"
You have to right click the audio and then "Select All" before the changes to the project's audio will work. Having selected "Project" I would have expected the audio for the project would have been selected - or at least a pop up to inform you to select all the audio before making changes.

After uninstalling and reinstalling Prelude CC none of my project files will open.
I get the notice "This version of the project file is not recognized!"
I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So after 3 hours of painful chat, Adobe Finally gave me the solution. They wouldn't answer my question without trying a bunch of things that I had said I already did, so hopefully this helps some people.
Somehow, updating was disabled, or suppressed, my the administrator (that's me). Adobe kind of forgot to give the administrator a way to then reenable that for users. You'd think that would be something the administrator would control from the admin console online, but no. You set it up once on install, then everyone is just stuck with whatever version they installed at the time. But good news! There's a file that suppresses that. You Might be able to simply delete it. I'm not sure.
But if you need to fix it, here it is. All 2 minutes that it will take you. Do NOT contact Adobe. Their help system is incredibly inefficient (but then again, aren't most?):
go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0
see an adobeUpdateradminprefs.dat file? Open that in notepad (or notepad++ or equivelant if you like that better)
Change the 1 to a zero and save.
That's all. That Should have been a known item, and would take all of 10 seconds to check, but I had to uninstall and reinstall several things before we went to a folder. Because uninstalling reinstalling is easier? ha
Now in response to Ramesh:
1. the issue is moot because previous versions of prelude can not open future versions. That's all over the web. So just make sure you have the current version.
2. we are now both at the current version.
3. offline media? we hadn't figured that out. If she closes the file and opens it again it seems to go away. So that's an unknown. And it's working now, so I don't really care.
