Can't open tcp connection to qnx

I want to use TCP/IP to connect to a machine running QNX.  I can telnet into QNX using windows, but when i try to connect using Labview TCP, i get a weird data stream back:
ÿýÿý ÿý#ÿý'ÿý$  (Normal string display),  or  FFFD 18FF FD20 FFFD 23FF FD27 FFFD 24 (HEX display), plus I get error code 56 (timeout on the read).
When i use the same vi to access another product (not running QNX), I get 0D0A 2D2D 3E  and an open communication path, everything works as it should.
In each case, I'm using the IP address and port 23 (telnet) to access.
Any ideas on how to connect to QNX using TCP/IP utilities?

  • Can't open TCP connection when two network adapter are enabled

    Hi all,
    I've an applicaiton that connect using "TCP Open Connection". The applicaiton is running on a computer have two network adapters configured to be on two different network.
    When I start the application, if both network adapters are enabled, connection is not created (timeout). When I disable the network adapter which is not configured for the network I need, connection is succesfull.
    - How can I choose which adapter to use to open the connection, as LabView seems enable to select the good one.
    - Or I can I disable a network adapter (just for the connection time)
    I'm using LabView 8.5 Full on Windows XP.
    Thanks for your help

    This is generally a routing issue. The OS will route connections to your primary network if it is not a direct route. For example, one network is 10.3.4.x (primary network) and the other is 192.168.1.x.with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. Now, let's say you want to reach a device with an 192.168.2.x address. The OS will try to route this through the primary network but is has no route to reach the 192.168.2.x subnet. Therefore your connection fails. You can add a permanent route to your computer to force specific address ranges to specific NICs. Use the ROUTE ADD command which is part of the OS. If you are trying to reach the computer using a name instead of the IP address the issue is basically the same but a but more challenging to resolve. The OS will do th elookup on your defined DNS servers. They generally do not have knowledge of local private networks and therefore can't resolve the name. In this case you need to create a more involved network infrastructure to update the name server. Probably not something that is feasible to do.

  • FTP exception: Can't open passive connection: Permission Denied

    I have a File sender adapter, with FTP as transport protocol.
    The adapter polls a directory each 60 seconds.
    All works perfectly but <b>sometimes</b> I get the following error :
    Channel CC_GBL_FlatFileSender: Error connecting to ftp server ...: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 425 Can't open passive connection: Permission denied.
    And 60 seconds after, no more error.
    Any idee of why I get this error occasionally ?
    In the sender file adapte, data connection is set to Passive.  Do I have to set it to Active ?
    Thanks in advance,
    Laurence

    Hi
    Data Connection
         -  Active
    In active mode, the server establishes a data connection from its data port, port 20, to an end point chosen by the client.
         -  Passive
    In passive mode, the client establishes a data connection to the port required by the server.
    The default setting is a passive data connection. Only change this setting if you have a specific reason. This is what is recommended by SAP.
    It is possible that Passive FTP mode may terminate session.
    In this mode the server "listen" on a data port (which is not its default data port) and to wait for a connection rather than initiate one upon receipt of a transfer command. The response to this command includes the host and port address this server is listening on.
    In the FTP protocol two ports are normally used, 20 and 21.
    Port 21 is the control channel in which requests such as PUT, GET, and PWD are sent to the server.
    Port 20 is the data channel in which actual files, folders and directory
    listings are sent.
    Normally, when you connect to an FTP site, the site establishes the data
    connection to your PC (the client) on Port 20. However, if the site allows
    passive transfers, you can have your PC establish the data connection. It is
    recommended that you use passive mode for most transfers.

  • Can we open multiple connections to APNS Feedback Server

    Hi,
    Is it recommended/allowed to open multiple connections to APNS feedback server to poll the bad tokens?
    The idea is to run a timer task (every hour) on a n application server which will poll the apns feedback server to retrieve the bad tokens and then close the connection every one hour from N app srevers.
    If it is allowed, can multiple parallel connection get the same bad device tokens connected/read at same time?

    You are literally correct in that IP addresses can be spoofed.
    But the same argument can be made about any single, known, form of security.
    If I know it is the fingerprint from your left index finger that is required ... I've no doubt I can break in if I want to badly enough. Sorry about the finger.
    Security comes from layering multiple, unknown, security measures.
    Mix invited nodes with a known userid
    SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'OS_USER') FROM dual;
    and the hacker has to know both a valid IP address and who is supposed to be there.
    Now on top of that add the operating system information:
    SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'TERMINAL') FROM dual;
    and it becomes a bit more difficult.
    Layer on a few more and it becomes exceedingly unlikely anyone will get in that doesn't belong there.

  • Azure Worker Role can't receive tcp connection to Port 25(Smtp)

    I have an SMTPE implementation as an Azure Worker Role. I have defined two input endpoints (port 25 and port 2525). Listener at 2525 accepts tcp connections from smtp clients. However port 25 can't receive connections.
    When running on emulator port 25 works fine. This issue occurs when I publish my worker roles to the cloud.
    I use the same code for both. InputEndpoints are also defined the same way. The only difference is the port number.
    Is there any limitation related to port 25?

  • Can't open printer connection

    I now have the following setup:
    iMac G5 (LAN port) <--> Belkin 5-Port Network Switch via Ethernet
    HP 7210 (LAN port) <--> Belkin 5-Port Network Switch via Ethernet
    Airport Extreme Base Station (LAN port) <--> Belkin 5-Port Network Switch via Ethernet
    Cable modem <--> Airport Extreme Base Station (WAN port)
    The network seems to be working fine as far as internet access goes. On the Airport Admin Utility, I have the Distribute IP addresses box checked.
    When I try to print, the HP Officejet 7200 series dialog box opens and says "Opening printer connection" but nothing ever happens.
    What do I do?

    HI Sean:
    I had the same problem too!!! I was getting frustrated because I was trying to
    get my hp photosmart 7260 and my hp deskjet 3740 to print wirelessly. The solution I found by accident. What happened is that my network went down so I decided to unplug my cable modem connection from the Lan Connection on the Airport Extreme Router and plug it in the Wan connection and presto my printers were printing wirelessly. When that happened I literaly just wanted to cry in happiness.
    Hope this works for you. Please let me know what happens. My email is [email protected] if you want to contact me.

  • Can't open HTTP connection to a proxied server

    I tested this:
    Reinstalled Aperture 3.1 from the Trial Installer.
    In some way it seems to be working. But the whole thing is a scary Chimera.
    It can create an Aperture library. I can import and edit images, even in Graphic Converter ias an external editor.
    But the Media Browser does not show the aperture Library that I created.
    The versioning is inconsistent. The library appears as an Aperture 3.4 library in the Finder.  Aperture 3.5 seems to be able to read this library and to upgrade it to 3.5
    The Applications folder is showing the application as version 3.4 and as compatible. Spotlight is showing it as illegal.
    When opening the chimera Aperture, I see plenty of warnings in the Console window:
    An Aperture "Hang" report
    xpcproxy assertion failed
    com.apple.IconServiceAgent: main failed to composite image
    quicklookd: Warning
    and more ... the hang was critical. I had to force quit Aperture more than once.
    So be careful. I would not trust any important Aperture library to this patched application, without testing thoroughly. Be careful with your  precious photos.

  • How to specify source IP address when opening TCP connection?

    Hi !
    We are building a system in which a server communicates with a multi-homed Linux client with three network interfaces.  All interfaces are routable to the server, but the server only accepts connections from one of those interfaces.
    We need the server to specify different local source addresses for each client but the Open_TCP_Connection vi does not provide the capability to specify the local source address.  Is there a way in LabVIEW open a TCP client connection and specify the source address?
    Thanks,
    -John

    What you are describing would mean that your server machine is creating client to communicate with another server. Client never accept a connection. They alwasy connect to a server.

    Hi,
    The problem might be becoz of the NAT (Network Address Tranlation). Coz if your server is behind some NAT then, your mobile ll get an ip that all other mobile conneted to that server througth that specific service provider.
    In short, using socketConnection to connect a server, if the server is behind a NAT then all the mobile client connecting to that server ll get same ip, so server dont know to which ip it shold send the response.

  • How can we close the TCP connection in Extend Clients (C#)

    I tried to use a C# client to connect to server side Coherence Nodes. The problem is that, Coherence creates two new TCP connections every time I create a new cache, and it never closes the connection. In the end, Coherence keeps opening hundreds connection for me, and I faced the Out Of Memory Exception.
    I used Coherence Extend for the connection, and use Thread.CurrentPrincipal. I did the same thing in Java, and it works. I don't know why it doesn't work for C#.
    For now, is there any way provided by Coherence to close the open TCP connection?

    The issue was the AZURE_STORAGE_CONNECTION_STRING was set improperly. I was originally using the value from the 'sig' querystring value, instead of the entire signature querystring.
    SET AZURE_STORAGE_CONNECTION_STRING=BlobEndpoint=https://viperprodstorage1.blob.core.windows.net/;SharedAccessSignature=<signature>
    Should have been...
    SET AZURE_STORAGE_CONNECTION_STRING=BlobEndpoint=https://viperprodstorage1.blob.core.windows.net/;SharedAccessSignature=sr=c&si=foobar-prod-policy&sig=<signature>
    After that was set, I was able to upload.
    I don't know if this mattered much, but I also changed the format of the call to...
    azure storage blob upload -f "file.gz" --container "foobar-prod" -b "file.gz" --verbose

  • RFCSDK - can't open connection

    Hi,
    I'm working with SAP NetWeaver and I'm trying to access it from remote with the "nwrfcsdk":
    Here is a simple program that I'm using for that:
    #include <stdlib.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include "sapnwrfc.h"
    int main()
       printf("test start...\n");
       RFC_RC rc = RFC_OK;
       RFC_CONNECTION_PARAMETER loginParams[5];
       RFC_ERROR_INFO errorInfo;
       RFC_CONNECTION_HANDLE connection;
       loginParams[0].name = "ashost";     loginParams[0].value = "my_host";
       loginParams[1].name = "sysnr";     loginParams[1].value = "33";
       loginParams[2].name = "client";     loginParams[2].value = "001";
       loginParams[3].name = "user";                     loginParams[3].value = "my_user_name";
       loginParams[4].name = "passwd";     loginParams[4].value = "my_pass";
       connection = RfcOpenConnection(loginParams, 5, &errorInfo);
       if (connection == NULL)
          printf("NULL\n");
       else
          printf("OK\n");
       printf("test end.\n");
       return 0;
    1. Can't open the connection - I always get connection as NULL - I can't see the reason for that, since when I'm using the same parm values from the .NET connector I manage to get the connection - what can I do about that?
    2. Is there a way that I can debug RfcOpenConnection itself??? (I only have the lib that contains it...)
    3. How can I read the NetWieaver logs, so I can know if the connection got to the SAP at all?

    It worked fine when I defined "SAPwithUNICODE"...

  • Can the GPIB-ENET/100 handle multiple TCP connections?

    Can the GPIB-ENET/100 handle multiple TCP connections from multiple computers?
    -Daniel

    Yes, the GPIB-ENET/100 can handle multiple TCP connections.
    To safely access the same GPIB-ENET/100 or GPIB-ENET from multiple applications on one or more computers at the same time, use the iblck function. The iblck function prevents one application from interrupting a call made to the GPIB-ENET/100 or GPIB-ENET from another application. Without it, one application could cause an I/O operation initiated by another application to abort or cause other unexpected behavior.

  • How to open TCP Port on my RV220 Firewall router?

    Hello,
    I have a windows 8 server for a LAN. This has a Cisco RV220W Firewall which is connected to the T1 router. In order to host a 3rd party video conferencing software I need to have the TCP 1935 port open.
    I tried the following -
    1. Logged into my RV220W and added a rule using Manage Firewall Rules (Firewall-Access Control-Custome Services). Here I added a rule for TCP start port 1935 and Finish port 1935.
    2. Then I added an inbound rule on my Windows 8 server to open TCP 1935.
    However when I tested it using porttest.net, it said TCP 1935 is still closed. Can someone please let me know how can I open TCP 1935 port?
    Thanks,
    Abhi

    Hello
    your steps seems to be fine at first look, but somewhere in that chain there is probably something broken.
    what kind of service is on that server port?
    are you able to open connection from outside with telnet to Router WAN IP and port? example test from outside/internet:
    telnet X.X.X.X YYYY
    where X.X.X.X is WAN IP of Router and YYYY is port number.
    You can confirm that port forwarding is working on both devices:
    you can try to connect with computer between Router and Firewall and try that port on firewall.
    if previous test works, then for testing purposes move server to subnet between Router and Firewall and perform connectivity test from internet.
