FTP exception: Can't open passive connection: Permission Denied

I have a File sender adapter, with FTP as transport protocol.
The adapter polls a directory each 60 seconds.
All works perfectly but <b>sometimes</b> I get the following error :
Channel CC_GBL_FlatFileSender: Error connecting to ftp server ...: com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: 425 Can't open passive connection: Permission denied.
And 60 seconds after, no more error.
Any idee of why I get this error occasionally ?
In the sender file adapte, data connection is set to Passive.  Do I have to set it to Active ?
Thanks in advance,
Laurence

Hi
Data Connection
     -  Active
In active mode, the server establishes a data connection from its data port, port 20, to an end point chosen by the client.
     -  Passive
In passive mode, the client establishes a data connection to the port required by the server.
The default setting is a passive data connection. Only change this setting if you have a specific reason. This is what is recommended by SAP.
It is possible that Passive FTP mode may terminate session.
In this mode the server "listen" on a data port (which is not its default data port) and to wait for a connection rather than initiate one upon receipt of a transfer command. The response to this command includes the host and port address this server is listening on.
In the FTP protocol two ports are normally used, 20 and 21.
Port 21 is the control channel in which requests such as PUT, GET, and PWD are sent to the server.
Port 20 is the data channel in which actual files, folders and directory
listings are sent.
Normally, when you connect to an FTP site, the site establishes the data
connection to your PC (the client) on Port 20. However, if the site allows
passive transfers, you can have your PC establish the data connection. It is
recommended that you use passive mode for most transfers.

  • Can't open an application, permission denied error!

I can't open a recently downloaded application.  I am getting a permission denied error? I have a a mac book pro with retina running Mountain Lion 10.8.4

Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
    ls -@Oen /A*/BeerSmith*/*/M* | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V).
A TextEdit window will open with the output of the command. Post the contents of that window (not the Terminal window), if any — the text, please, not a screenshot. The title of the window doesn't matter, and you don't need to post that.

  • When ever i use a "sudo" command, it returns "sudo: can't open /etc/sudoers: Permission denied".... HELP PLEASE

While using terminal, any commands with sudo returns the statement seen in the heading... I have only a basic idea of whats happening, so please try and make the solutions simple.. much appreciated

Are you being prompted for a password? Are you using the same password you sign in with? Try just entering sudo with:
    sudo su -
It will ask you for a password and then give you a stern warning about acting as root, where you can really mess up your computer for good if you are not careful. If it won't change to the root account you have a permission problem or a credentials problem.

  • SM69 error-Can't exec external program (Permission denied).with exit code 1

    Hi All,
I am trying to execute UNIX script via creating commend line in SM69.
But i am getting following error:
"Can't exec external program (Permission denied)
External program terminated with exit code 1"
Can any one guide me what could be the cause of this error.
    Any Help will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards

First use SU53, to see if you have all SAP-authoritys.
But I think, you have no authority to execute UNIX-programs.
or your UNIX-script is not executable?

  • Startx: xf86OpenConsole: Cannot Open /dev/tty0 (Permission Denied)

running startx as normal user gives me the following error:
xf86OpenConsole: Cannot Open /dev/tty0 (Permission Denied)
it seems to run ok as root... but I obviously don't want to be doing that all the time. I guess that means its a permission issue, but what, where, when and how?
I searched the forums and found one article from last year with similar errors after an updated Xorg package, apparently that was fixed and it gave me no insight as to how to manually fix this error.
I'm just starting with Arch and its my first 'advanced' distro (been mostly running ubuntu up until now)... hence, I've never had to set up Xorg etc before.

    $ groups
    users
    $ls -l /dev/tty0
    lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2007-10-17 08:54 /dev/tty0 -> vc/0
I've already tried adding the group 'users' to /dev/tty0 but when I restart it just goes back to 'root'
When I do add the group 'users', it seems to get past the problem with /dev/tty0 and it gives me this error:
xf86OpenConsole: Cannot open virtual console 7 (Permission Denied)

    Hi Sankar,
I dont know if you are able to assist as i am having a similar issue.
I had issues in the past  connecting to external ftp sites so i created an inspection rule on my wan interfaces and ask any staff trying to connect to any ftp site to send me the ip address so i can add under the inspection rule and this has always worked for me.
I had to do this because we also have ftp sites internally that people try to connect to from outside too.
But lately ,i have done this for an external ftp site and it connects but doesnt list directories.

  • Can we open multiple connections to APNS Feedback Server

    Hi,
Is it recommended/allowed to open multiple connections to APNS feedback server to poll the bad tokens?
The idea is to run a timer task (every hour) on a n application server which will poll the apns feedback server to retrieve the bad tokens and then close the connection every one hour from N app srevers.
If it is allowed, can multiple parallel connection get the same bad device tokens connected/read at same time?

You are literally correct in that IP addresses can be spoofed.
But the same argument can be made about any single, known, form of security.
If I know it is the fingerprint from your left index finger that is required ... I've no doubt I can break in if I want to badly enough. Sorry about the finger.
Security comes from layering multiple, unknown, security measures.
Mix invited nodes with a known userid
    SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'OS_USER') FROM dual;
and the hacker has to know both a valid IP address and who is supposed to be there.
Now on top of that add the operating system information:
    SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'TERMINAL') FROM dual;
and it becomes a bit more difficult.
Layer on a few more and it becomes exceedingly unlikely anyone will get in that doesn't belong there.

  • Can't open TCP connection when two network adapter are enabled

    Hi all,
I've an applicaiton that connect using "TCP Open Connection". The applicaiton is running on a computer have two network adapters configured to be on two different network.
When I start the application, if both network adapters are enabled, connection is not created (timeout). When I disable the network adapter which is not configured for the network I need, connection is succesfull.
    - How can I choose which adapter to use to open the connection, as LabView seems enable to select the good one.
    - Or I can I disable a network adapter (just for the connection time)
I'm using LabView 8.5 Full on Windows XP.
    Thanks for your help

This is generally a routing issue. The OS will route connections to your primary network if it is not a direct route. For example, one network is 10.3.4.x (primary network) and the other is 192.168.1.x.with a subnet of 255.255.255.0. Now, let's say you want to reach a device with an 192.168.2.x address. The OS will try to route this through the primary network but is has no route to reach the 192.168.2.x subnet. Therefore your connection fails. You can add a permanent route to your computer to force specific address ranges to specific NICs. Use the ROUTE ADD command which is part of the OS. If you are trying to reach the computer using a name instead of the IP address the issue is basically the same but a but more challenging to resolve. The OS will do th elookup on your defined DNS servers. They generally do not have knowledge of local private networks and therefore can't resolve the name. In this case you need to create a more involved network infrastructure to update the name server. Probably not something that is feasible to do.

  • Can't open printer connection

I now have the following setup:
iMac G5 (LAN port) <--> Belkin 5-Port Network Switch via Ethernet
HP 7210 (LAN port) <--> Belkin 5-Port Network Switch via Ethernet
Airport Extreme Base Station (LAN port) <--> Belkin 5-Port Network Switch via Ethernet
Cable modem <--> Airport Extreme Base Station (WAN port)
The network seems to be working fine as far as internet access goes. On the Airport Admin Utility, I have the Distribute IP addresses box checked.
When I try to print, the HP Officejet 7200 series dialog box opens and says "Opening printer connection" but nothing ever happens.
    What do I do?

    HI Sean:
I had the same problem too!!! I was getting frustrated because I was trying to
get my hp photosmart 7260 and my hp deskjet 3740 to print wirelessly. The solution I found by accident. What happened is that my network went down so I decided to unplug my cable modem connection from the Lan Connection on the Airport Extreme Router and plug it in the Wan connection and presto my printers were printing wirelessly. When that happened I literaly just wanted to cry in happiness.
Hope this works for you. Please let me know what happens. My email is [email protected] if you want to contact me.

Do I need to add anything to pam.conf - ('password' section)? or is it an missing ACI?
    Reg Henrik

I'm having this same problem and thought I'd poke this to see if I can get any more help -
Does anyone have a sample of what the ACIs should look like? The only ACIs I have is what ISW itself installed
I can log in as a user just fine.
    passwd cdavis15
    Enter cdavis15's password:
    New Password:
    Re-enter new Password:
    Permission denied
If I do an ldapsearch as that user to see his own information I see:
    ldap_init( server, 389 )
    filter pattern: uid=cdavis15
    returning: ALL
    filter is: (uid=cdavis15)
ldap_search: DSA is unwilling to perform
ldap_search: addition info: Password was reset and must be changed
    0 matches
The ACI that ISW installed that seem related to what was suggested here:
targetattr="userPassword")(version 3.0;acl "allow userpassword self modification"; allow (write) userdn = "ldap:///self";)
    Any help appreciated.

  • TS1368 Can't open or connect to iTunes after loading the latest 6.0 any help

Any help you can see and extend for this problem of not connecting to iTunes store as well as app store happened just after loading up the latest 6.0
Thanks guys and appreciate any help you can extend,

    I tested this:
Reinstalled Aperture 3.1 from the Trial Installer.
In some way it seems to be working. But the whole thing is a scary Chimera.
It can create an Aperture library. I can import and edit images, even in Graphic Converter ias an external editor.
But the Media Browser does not show the aperture Library that I created.
The versioning is inconsistent. The library appears as an Aperture 3.4 library in the Finder.  Aperture 3.5 seems to be able to read this library and to upgrade it to 3.5
The Applications folder is showing the application as version 3.4 and as compatible. Spotlight is showing it as illegal.
When opening the chimera Aperture, I see plenty of warnings in the Console window:
    An Aperture "Hang" report
    xpcproxy assertion failed
com.apple.IconServiceAgent: main failed to composite image
    quicklookd: Warning
and more ... the hang was critical. I had to force quit Aperture more than once.
So be careful. I would not trust any important Aperture library to this patched application, without testing thoroughly. Be careful with your  precious photos.

  • Can't open folder (no permission)

My mum recently sold her iMac, and I kept her USB 320GB drive that has her Time Machine backup on it.  I can browse the drive in Finder on my MBP, but as soon as I get to her and my dad's user folders (which I want to do to get their photos out for them) I get a red stop sign on the folder and if I try to open them it says I don't have permission.
This also happens if I Cmd + Click Time Machine and choose "Browse Other Disk"
I also tried using cp in Terminal and sudo, but this simply copies the folder WITH the red stop sign.
Any ideas how I can recover my folks' photos and documents?

  • Can't open tcp connection to qnx

I want to use TCP/IP to connect to a machine running QNX.  I can telnet into QNX using windows, but when i try to connect using Labview TCP, i get a weird data stream back:

When i use the same vi to access another product (not running QNX), I get 0D0A 2D2D 3E  and an open communication path, everything works as it should.
In each case, I'm using the IP address and port 23 (telnet) to access.
Any ideas on how to connect to QNX using TCP/IP utilities?

I think the data you are seeing is part of the telnet negotiation sequence. http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc854.html
A telnet session is more complex than opening a TCP socket.
I would suggest using the LabVIEW Internet Toolkit for telnet communications.
