Can't print pics in iphoto 08

This might have something to do with recent Mac software updates but I can no longer print pics in '08. I get the message "No available themes" "until at least one theme has been installed this feature (printing) is not available" How did this happen? How can I reload the themes that must have been there in the past?

Look in your User/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder for a Themes folder. If you find it there move it to the HD/Library/Application Support/iPhoto folder and reboot. Then try iPhoto again. That may save you having to go thru the reinstallation.

There is no Apple print service for iBooks, and iPhoto can also only print photo books created in iPhoto.
Print your iBook to pdf. Then you have several option:
Save the pdf to a thumbsdrive/stick and take it to the nearest print shop close to your home.
Search online for "self publishing" services available in your country.
Recreate your book as an iPhoto Book. This will be a lot of work, since iPhoto's templates are more suitable for Picture books than books with lots of formatted text. To speed things up, you could use "Preview" to export the pages of your book as jpegs (high quality, at least 300 dpi) and add themas full-page photos to a new PhotoBook. This can be sent to apple for printing.
But the first two options would be much less trouble and probably be less expensive.

I Can't Drag Pics to iPhoto in the Dock Anymore....

Hey Hey!!!
I upgraded to Snow Leopard and since then, I can't drag pics and leave them in iPhoto in the dock.
The pics drag, but bounce back when I let go of them in iPhoto.
What can I do to change this?

Are you dragging from the Finder? Or for a Web Browser? If it's Safari right click on the pic and choose 'Add to iPhoto Library'.

Can i resize pic in iphoto

Hi, is it possible to resize pics in iphoto? At the moment I use the email facility to do it.

What do you want to resize?
File -> Export:
The Jpg Quality setting will impact the file size - expressed on kb or MB
The Size setting allows you to specify a target size in pixels for the Photo.

Can't print pics

Greetings,
We have a HP C6200 all in one printer and from day one I have had to go thru special steps that I basically learned thru trial and error to get it to print pictures from my computer.
I had a problem with it once before where it wouldn't print pics no matter what I did but finally after a few days of playing around with it, I got it to start working again.
It stopped printing pics from my computer again and I have been working on it for weeks. I cannot get it to work and have run out of ideas. The Basic Guide is no help at all. If anyone has suggestions I would be grateful. I load all our pics on my computer. Thanks. Cindi

I have Windows Vista. When I want to print a picture in the past I have just gone to my pic folder and it opens up the hp photo and I print. I don't get a message but on the printer it has always said to insert my Memory Card.
I haven't had to do that before but have had to go to great lengths thru trial and error to get it to print the pics.
I tried to put my memory card into the printer tonight but my memory card would not fit in the memory card slot.
I would appreciate any suggestions you have.

Can't upload pics from iPhoto

I have the latest version of iPhoto (purchased my computer just 3 months ago). Ever since we set up the computer I have not been able to select any pictures from iPhoto when using another application. For example, I want to use a picture from iPhoto as my buddy profile picture on iChat, but it won't let me. When I click on "pictures" 2 folders show up: iPhoto and Photobooth. However, the iPhoto file shows up as gray and I can't even click on it. It will, however, let me choose pics from Photobooth. I also can't use my iPhoto pictures for myspace, or for emailing, or ordering prints from an outside source such as Walgreens, Costco, Snapfish, etc. How do I fix this?

The basic answer is to export the photos you want to use - although there are several other answers depending on just what you want to do.

HT201250 Can one view pics from iPhoto application in time capsule backup?

I am attempting to use my time capsule as a general backup disk for all my pics and movies in iPhoto, to then be able to erase all pics from my iMac. Can one view iPhoto pics from the backup time capsule?

You cannot "see" the images in your iPhoto Library on the Time Capsule. You can only restore the complete library.
If you erase the iPhoto Library from your Mac, then iPhoto will not be able to find the iPhoto Library on the Time Capsule
Do NOT ever erase the images from your Mac.
If you do this, the only version that you will have will be on the Time Capsule. What will happen to your images when....not if....the Time Capsule has a problem?
In addition, Time Machine backs up the changes on your Mac. If you delete the iPhoto Library from your Mac, then Time Machine will delete the backup....and you will not know when this will occur.

Can I attach pics from iphoto to email?

I have been trying to attach pictures from iphoto to emails but can only get them to sow up as full pictures in the body of the email instead of as attachments to the email. Is it possible to do this?

That's a setting in Mail. Try right click on the pic and select 'Show as Icon'

Can't Print Book from iPhoto or Preview, but Can Print from Adobe Accrobat

I have spent 2.5 hours on the phone with HP, an am now unsure if the problem is with HP or Apple.
When I try to print a single page from an iPhoto Book (or a group of pages), I receive an error message on the HP 4650 printer (49.4C02). I saved the book as a PDF and tried to print from Preview with the same results. I then opened the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat and WAS able to print. I am able to print individual photos from iPhoto.
I searched this discussion board for problems printing to the HP 4650. One suggestion was to use the driver for the HP 4600. I tired that and it produced the same error on the printer.
Using Adobe Acrobat is a viable work-a-round, but I am curious why I cannot print a book from iPhoto. Any thoughts as to why Adobe Acrobat works and iPhoto and Preview do not?

Can't edit pics in iphoto 09

Hi, I just installed iphoto 09, as well as leopard, on my G5. When I try to edit my pictures, the "enhance" function won't work. More importantly, the "adjust" function won't alter the pictures. When I click on "adjust" the graphic comes up and I can move the arrows, but there's no change in the picture. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I have had the same problem and after reading a bunch of different responses I did the following: I went into my pictures folder. Right clicked on my Iphoto Library folder and then "Show Package Contents." I then opened the folder labeled "Originals". In another directory I created a folder. (name it whatever you like. I then dragged the problem photos to that folder. I deleted the thumb nails in iphoto. I then dragged (or imported) those photos back into iphoto. They were then able to be edited. It seems that if you change directory in iphoto the programs loses the file location.

thnks Barbera I believe that's the problem ...every time I try to import the new pics I put in my iPhoto to my elements organizer
after it goes through all the pics to be impotred to the organizer ,it leaves me that message I stated earlier about a corupted file..I'm going to try what you told me about the repairing process and go from there ...I'll be in touch to let you know If that fix the problem....thx again....

Can I print 5x7 with iPhoto 6?

I have iPhoto 2 now, and it does not allow me to print 5x7. I custom create 5x7 paper size in page setup, constrain my photo to 5x7, but absolutely cannot successfully print a 5x7. I've seen other people post about this same problem.
My question is, if I drop the $80 on iLife'06, will I be able to print 5x7? I'd hate to order it only to find it doesn't help.

I've never had any difficulty printing 5X7s but that's a standard size with my print driver. I want to tell you that you'll have no problems but I'm a bit worried that your printer might be a limiting factor.

Can't print photos from iPhoto on 4X6" paper from HP 5180 All in One

Prior to Leopard using iPhoto, I had to select the 4x6 paper in the 5180 to get to that paper. Otherwise, it would print to the letter sized paper. Now it will only print with the large paper.

My Mistake! It is an 8610 All-in-One. (The 6000 series was our old one.) Sorry.

When I click on a photo to print, the ball just keeps going round and round. I have to drag the photo to the desktop to print it. Help? I just upgraded from 4GB memory to 12GB. This did not help. I have 25,000 pictures

Can you edit a photo? Does the command "File > Export" work?
If not, make a backup and rebuild your iPhoto Library.
Hold down the options key and the command key at the same time
Double click the if icon to launch iPhoto.
Keep holding down both keys firmly, until the First Aid panel appears.
Then click "rebuild Library".
