Can't print report on IE7

Hello!
I'm trying to print a report from IE7 browser.
I see the window saying: 'please wait while the crystal reports print control is loaded' but nothing happens.
Sometimes I see the popup asking to install an activex control, I press install but it doesn't help.
Everything is fine on IE8.

hi ORT,
yes i'm running the report from the report builder itself.
and just to let you know that in many cases the print dialog box does comes up,
but in some cases it doesn't.
actually i'm new to reports6i, i have worked quite a bit on older versions.
am i doing something wrong in the process of creating the report??
do i have to setup some properties??
ok lets say we don't want the printer dialog box to come up, how to do it??
thanks
tariq.

  • Can not print report directly to printer.

    Hi,
    We are using Crystal Report Server for reporting in our project.
    The version we are using is Crystal Report Server XI R2 and Crystal Report Server XI R2 SP 2.
    Please kindly advice us on the following issues we faced:
    - Can not print report directly to printer.
      The print button on the Crystal Report Viewer prints the report to pdf and user have to click "Print" again in the pdf file. This is unusual and not convenient. As we have hundreds of reports to print, is there a way we can print the reporrt directly to printer?
    - "Set to Null"
      In the default interface of the Crystal Report View, there's is this "set to null" check box that we can not remove. Is there a way to do without it?
    Thank you,
    Kenny Tew

    Morning Kenny,
    The printer settings are in server management console. Additionally see what settings you have setup for the printer for the report in the server. If it is setup to use End User printer then check your End user machine settings and make sure the printer is setup as a default printer on his/her machine.
    Please let us know how you get along with the issue.
    As far as "Set to Null" I am not sure where it is set up. A screenshot of it might help understanding it better?
    Many thanks

    Is this issue on all computers or only one computer?
    I have just tested this on my colleague machine and it asks for default printer and not pdf however on mine I setup for pdf.

  • Can not print report when using HTML or DHTML

    Can not print report when using HTML or DHTML. When I open the report and click the print icon I get a small blank dialog box and then nothing. If I change to activex it works and I can print.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Hi,
    I did not come across this situation before. Did you apply any fix packs. Try to check whether its a issue which can be fixed by applying fix pack( try to check release notes of fix pack and see if they mentioned any thing about this).
    Thanks,
    SK.

  • Can not print Report to printer

    Hello,
    I am printing a report using the run_report_object and can not print to printer when the report returns some data.
    When there is no data returning, the report prints fine from printer and it prints only the header.
    On the other hand, when the report contains data it prints on the screen using the web.showdocument procedure.
    I am using Oracle Forms 6i and Report Builder for the report.

    When running a Report from a Form using the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT
    built-in with the Reports server, you encounter the FRM-41214 error,
    and the reports status is TERMINATED_WITH_ERROR.(if you insert a message in loop yo'll see this message)
    FRM-41214 indicates that an invalid parameter has been passed to the Report
    Server. In this case,it is the DESTYPE that is invalid. SCREEN or PREVIEW is
    valid for the reports background engine, but is not a valid parameter for the
    Report Server. The correct parameter for the Report Server when the output
    needs to be shownin the browser window is a DESTYPE of CACHE.
    check all parameter you set

  • How can i  print reports to different printer by use Trigger on table after insert

    Hello,
    Please can any one tell me how can i print (any message) to different printer (network & local printer) by use Trigger on table after insert.
    regards,
    Linda.

    What you want to do cannot be done with PL/SQL, which does have any print utilities. However you could write something using Java Stored Procedures.
    Of course the "different printer" bit will have to be data driven as triggers are not interactive.

    If you offer a PDF to the end user, they usually know what to do with it. OTOH, if you wish to provide software to facilitate the local printing, you might launch an application on the client side that accesses the JNLP API's PrintService - that can be done in a sandboxed application.
    A signed application might access the normal J2SE based print services. Though I heard that Sun had decided to make printing a 'prompt on first attempt' deal - even for sandboxed apps., from 1.5 plus (or was it 1.6 plus?).
    It would be a serious security bug if a web site could print on the client printer, without trust or active involvement from the end user.

  • Printing report oracle10g at client side through form

    Report Mode : CHARACTER.

    My application server running that form. My code is following for setting the report destination type:
    IF :B01.S_REPORT_TO = 'S' THEN
    SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(REP_ID,REPORT_DESTYPE,CACHE);
    ELSIF :B01.S_REPORT_TO = 'P' THEN

    END IF;

    web.show_document( 'http://servername:port/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||
    SUBSTR (vrep, INSTR (vrep, '_', -1) + 1)|| '?'|| 'server=REPserver','_blank');
    But when i am using destype as print , the report output is directed to Application Server's printer and not in clinet computer's printer. as well as detination type is file , then specified file is stored in Application Server and not in client machine.

    I strongly suggest that you read the article carefully and understand it it before you start spreading unverified rumors and mislead people.
    The article you pointed out in your post is a [url http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disclaimer]Disclaimer wrote by the author of the Java Beans/PJCs found on that site.
    I will try to explain to you what Francois, the author of the site is trying to tell you in that Article and I'll be more than happy if Francois corrects me when I'm wrong.
    The article is clearly stating;

    This does not mean by any scope or dimension or by any mean that Java Beans are not supported to be used with Oracle Forms.
    Java Beans ARE supported to be used with Oracle Forms and in the next release Java has more integration with Forms.

  • How can I print some pages from multipage report

    Hello,
    I have created a multipage report in word. I would like the user to be able to print the pages selected (as in word printing: pages: 1, 2-3);
    I am using Office 2007 pro, the LabVIEW Report Gen Toolkit, LabVIEW 2009, and Windows XP.
    I used the suggestion in thread:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/How-can-you-print-a-single-page-of-a-multipage-report/m-p/155233 , modifying the print VI that comes shipped with LabVIEW: NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Word_Print.VI.
    first of all I put two integer constants on "From" and "To" in the Invoke node (PrintOut), but Labview return an error:
    Error 1015 occurred at NI_ReportGenerationToolkit.lvlib:Word_Print.vi -> NI_Word.lvclassrint Report.vi -> print2.vi
    Then I searched for PrintOut Method in word 2007 Reference guide, and I saw that for using From and To the Range field must have the string  wdPrintFromTo;
    I insert wdPrintFromTo string  in RANGE Field and tryed.... same error......
    After that I change approach; removed all constants and used the field Pages; I put a string "1-2" connected to this field and now the printer respond, but all pages was printed!
    What's wrong?
    many thanks

    Thanks, Alex!
    ok, I try first approach in print4.vi, but Labview return an error (view jpg); if I cut From, To controls, the VI print all pages. The same things happen also if I trasform I32 in Variant.
    I don't try second approach, because at this time I have only one report
    I try also with VB macro: this is better (print3.vi) but.....if I use:
    Sub Print_Pages_From_To()
    ActiveDocument.ActiveWindow.PrintOut Range:=wdPrintFromTo, From:="2", To:="3"
    End Sub
    is ok; print the pages selected; if I use:
    Sub PrintPages()
    ActiveDocument.ActiveWindow.PrintOut  Pages:="2-3"
    End Sub
    printer print all pages.
    what do you think?

    Italo

  • Can't print to Epson TM-U590 Slip Printer from Report Generation Toolkit with LabVIEW 8.6.1

    Hi all,
    I have an application that uses the Report Generation Toolkit to print tickets to a docket printer.  Usually this works fine - I have 8 existing installations where there are no problems
    I'm currently installing the software at a new site that uses an Epson TM-U590 slip printer and I can't for the life of me get printing to work
    Using a Standard Report, the Print Report.vi returns error -41002 which indicates it can't find the printer.  I've opened up the VI using remote debugging and it does find the printer name correctly with the Query Available Printers.vi.  It gets an error code -2147352567 from the Printout node, which then gets replaced with the -41002 error which is reported.
    For historical reasons I'm still using LabVIEW 8.6.1 for this project.  I'm considering moving to 2011 or 2012 but I've had reliability issues with other parts of the application after attempting to update to a newer LabVIEW version so I'd like to avoid that at this stage.
    The application is running on a standard desktop PC with Windows 7.  The slip printer works fine if I print to it from Notepad, and my application is happy to print to any other printer, just not the slip printer.
    The slip printer is using the LPT port.  Previously the docket printers I've used have been USB but I would expect the printer driver to hide this detail from the application...
    Any ideas would be much appreciated

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I've managed to sort out the problem, thanks to this KB article: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/67D60209102E2161862568AC0074BF64
    I'm now having the same issue with a Star docket printer (a TUP592), this time with another program developed in LabVIEW 2011.
    As mentioned in the article, the problem is actually to do with the margin settings rather than the printer name, despite what the error message says
    After some experimentation, I've gotten the Star printer to work by setting a large (>14cm) right margin.  No idea why this is required as it seems to print right up to the right edge of the paper quite happily, but there you go.
    So I haven't defintely fixed the original problem yet as I haven't gotten back to the site, but hopefully this will be of some help to someone else.
    Cheers

  • Can't print a report from within web application

    <p>I can run the report within Eclipse and it displays fine.  When I click the export button a modal window comes up and all works as expeced.  If I click the print button then a modal box comes up but it is blank except for a little white square up in the top left corner.</p><p>When I view the html source in the browser, the displayPrintDialog function makes reference to active X print control.</p><p>prm.codebase = "../ActiveXControls/PrintControl.cab";</p><p>but I don&#39;t have that within my web application. </p><p>Is there something that I need to install on this machine to get printing to work?</p><p>Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p><p>Marty Jones </p><p> </p>

    <p>Unfortunately the ActiveX print control was not validated with the CR4E version of the Java Reporting Component. Therefore users must implement the prininting via the PDF print option. The print option is determined by the printMode property of the viewer. The default should be PDF but if you want to ensure that it always uses PDF you can set the following code using our API:</p><p> crystalReportPageViewer.setPrintMode(CrPrintMode.PDF);</p><p>If you are using the Tag Libraries you should set the property printMode equal to PDF.</p><p>Hopefully, in a future release we can look at adding in a "pure" print option again. </p><p>Regards,<br />Sean Johnson (CR4E Product Manager) </p>
