Can't replace an app package

When I click "Replace" link I get "ShowDialog failed." message at the top of the "Upload and describe your package" form. Using IE11 on Windows 8.1. Everything was okay yesterday.

Your application is Windows Store application? And you can manually build(using MSBuild) your application on build agent machine successfully?

Canned searches in finder.app package, but not in sidebar or preferences

I would like to add the canned searches from the Finder App package to te sidebar, but they do not appear in the preferences.
I found no ducumentation on this.
Would you please help me?

There is an alternate way to get basically the same searches into the proper place in the Finder sidebar. The "canned searches" in Finder.app are very similar to "smart folders" that you can create yourself, setting them up to search "This Mac" and using a single "Kind is ...." search criterion. If you save such a "smart folder" it becomes a "saved search", and there is a checkbox for adding its icon to the sidebar. That sidebar icon will appear under "Search For", not under "Places.' Name the search appropriately and save it to the default Saved Searches folder.

How to replace an App purchased by another Apple ID?

There is a free app purchased from an abondoned Apple ID while other apps are from the current Apple ID. So, I want to download the free app again with the current Apple ID. But there are data with the app, so deleting it and download again means the data will be erased.
How can I replace the app using the current Apple ID and retain all data? (I have Time Machine backup).

Captivate 7 App Packager - Can you show animation for rest of project?

I created a basic animation in Edge Animate where the user presses a button to show and hide an image. The image resembles a document containing information needed to complete fields throughout the course. I would like for the image to remain on the screen as long as the user needs it, even when slides change. I chose Edge Animate over Flash for HTML5 compliance.
Using the App Packager, I can place the animation on all of the slides, but as soon as the slide changes, the animation resets. So, if the user clicks the button to show the image on Slide 1, it disappears when the course transitions to Slide 2 and the user has to click the button again. The only timing options I see are "specific time" and "rest of slide", but I need a "rest of project" option like the one available for widgets and swf animations. Is there another way to make this work with an Edge Animate HTML5 compliant animation?

Thank you for the response. I did create the same button action using advanced actions in a previous course. I was hoping that by creating an external animation, I could not only save development time, but also reuse the Edge file if I ever needed the same action in future courses. Now that Captivate 7 has shared actions, I will likely revisit my previous advanced action and see if I can reuse it.

Can I upload a Captivate course to Connect AFTER embedding Edge animations through App Packager?

I would like to include animations I've created in Edge Animate and the App Packager makes this pretty easy. However, afterward I have an HTML course that I can't seem to upload to Connect. When I ZIP it up I'm told by Connect that it's an invalid format. Also, when I export a Captivate course as a zipped HTML course, uploading it to Connect works, but the spinning loader shows indefinitely.

So in case anyone comes across this post with the same question, I found out a way to sort of do this. I still couldn't figure out how to upload the ZIP to Connect properly, but I was able to use the Web Object Interaction and load up the HTML output of Edge Animate. It's just a folder with a bunch of files and an index file. All you do is choose the top-level folder, resize your interaction to fit, and everything works out well! No need to use the App Pakcager, and animations can be inserted any time while you're creating your project.

How can I make Adobe Captivate 7 App Packager use 3.3.0 version of PhoneBuild rather than the 2.5.0 version? I tried following the instructions to upgrade PhoneBuild to version 3.3.0 - seemed to work, but Captivate is still outputting using 2.5.

I tried that recently but could not find a way out.
However, I figured out that we can upload the HTML5 zip file directly to the PhoneGap and build the app. This not only makes it a 3.3.0 version by default, it will also allow you to change the default app name, description, and most importantly the icon of the app.

How to detect packages whether it can be replaced?

Hi,
Sometimes when writing my own application patch to update packages, but somehow discovered the package cannot be overwritten when my patch is already running half way.
Is there anyway to detect or force replace to my packages? or other best practices are welcome.

Why can't the package be overwritten? What is the error?
I'm guessing that you are getiting an ORA-00054 error indicating that the package is locked because another session is using it, but you may be referring to a few other errors. If that's the case, the simplest option would be to ensure that other users are not using your application while you're trying to patch it.

Sorry to read about this. A relative had a similar experience. Just a few things she was told to do. Hopefully one will get your content back. Make sure you are logged in to the same Apple Account the last iPad was. You should have a recent backup that can be downloaded to have your new iPad look like the one you replaced. When I changed from one iPad to another I used my last backup and all my apps and photos reloaded with no issues. This was done over wifi.
Another way is connecting your iPad to a computer that is logged into your iTunes account. It will show what backups you have available to download To your iPad. Again hopefully a recent backup was made of your iPad with all your most recent content.
In my cloud settings I made sure any photos I took were uploaded to the cloud to be downloaded automatically to my iPhone and visa versa.
If you had your photos setup to be uploaded to the cloud they should still be there. You just need to be logged into your Apple ID and your new iPad and I see no reason you cannot access them. Hopefully it is a simple fix.

Do a search on your iPod if you can't fine the App try syncing you iPod again, if that don't work then your will need to reset your iPod touch then re-sync it to get your data back on it, make sure you sync before resetting.
