Can't run JDeveloper 11.1.2.1 app on Weblogic 10.3.6

I'm trying to migrate my application developed in JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 (ADF BC, ADF Faces stack) to JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.
This app was previously deployed to Weblogic 10.3.4.
When I generate .ear file and try to deploy it with Enterprise Manger to Weblogic 10.3.6 I keep getting an error that I can't deploy it because in weblogic.xml my app reference library JSF 2.0.
I can see that by default Weblogic 10.3.6 comes with JSF 1.2. If I replace it with jsf 2.0 (from: weblogic_home\wlserver_10.3\common\deployable-libraries\jsf-2.0.war) still can't get it to work. And EM stops working because it depends on JSF 1.2.
I've tried several different approaches (removing all references to JSF 2.0; adding jsf-api.jar, jsf-api.jar directly to project and deploying it with .ear,...) but none has shown right.
What should I do to run ADF application developed with JDeveloper 11.1.2.1 on Weblogic server 10.3.6
Thanks,
Nebojsa

JDev 11.1.2.1 need wls 10.3.5 with sherman patches applied to run. WLS 10.3.6. is for jdev 11.1.1.6.0.

  • Can't Run JDeveloper 11g on JDK 6_13 for Windows 64-bit

    Hi all,
When I attempt to run JDeveloper 11g (base install), and select my java.exe file from my JDK 6_13x64 installation I get the following error message:
"Unable to find Java Virtual Machine.
"To point to a location of a Java Virtual Machine, please refer to the Oracle9i JDeveloper Install Guide (jdev\install.html)."
In addition to the incorrect version number, the JDeveloper Install Guide makes no mention of this problem. I've found a few posts on this forum where people had this problem, but they're all pretty old, and none of them got satisfactory answers. A few possibilities mentioned in those posts that I've eliminated are as follows:
    - I've confirmed that this is, indeed, the JDK, not just a JRE.
    - This is the production version of JDeveloper 11g, not a technical preview, so it shouldn't require 1.5.
    - There are no spaces in the paths to either the JDK or JDeveloper.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
    Thanks much,
    Avrom

Thanks, Shay. That does seem to work, and will suffice as a workaround for now. But are there plans to make JDeveloper compatible with the 64-bit edition of Java? It would be nice to get what I assume is a substantial performance enhancement from using it.
10:06 PM: Actually, it doesn't work very well. JDeveloper will start, but it has a lot of stability problems; it seems to freeze at 100% CPU usage (well, 25%, but I'm on a quad processor) at the drop of a hat, such as when I minimize, walk away for 90 minutes, and come back--once it even did it just when I tried to create a new application. I've installed this version of JDev on a 32-bit system and have found it to be generally quite stable, so I assume this is a problem with my setup.

  • How can i run a linux command in java app?

i created a cell script to run the compile process of my C++ simulator and want to control it thru java application, i tried the following but it doesn't work.
the command in linux should be. under the path /home/workspace/SIM/ run: . / zs_compile
and i use runtime to do this
    String path="home/workspace/SIM/ . /zs_compile";
    try {Runtime.getRuntime().exec(path);}
    catch( IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace() ;
    Error report is java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: home/workspace/SIM/ . /zs_compile : not found
who can help me to find the reason, thanks a lot!!!!!

the reason is that the command you're truing to execute can't be found. se this article for other traps relatd to runtime.exec:
    http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html
the command in linux should be. under the path /home/workspace/SIM/ run: . / zs_compilecould yu elaborate a bit? "should be . under the path" -- do you mean it should be sourced from that path? Sourcing a script file makes no sense from a Java program.

  • Can we deploy jdeveloper 11.1.2 application in standalone weblogic 10.3.4 ?

    Hi,
I have an urgent issue on deployment. Can we use weblogic 10.3.4 for deploying jdeveloper 11.1.2 adf applications?
and how to got sherman patch if i have to use standalone weblogic 10.3.5?
    Please answer this query?
    Thanks a lot. Please Reply.

    Hi Kunal,
Unfortunately, it's not stated so clearly anywhere, at least that I know of.
In http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/jdev11gr2-cert-405181.html#Application_Servers it's stated "Certified with 11.1.1.5.x only" and then if you look at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/downloads/fmw-11gr1certmatrix.xls it's stated that 11.1.1.5.0 is certified with WebLogic Server 10.3.5.
You can also look in the release notes http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/shermanrelnotes-405777.html#deploy which shows to install 10.3.5.
If you wanted a very clear definitive statement from Oracle - file an SR with support and ask them.

  • Can I run perl scripts on a iplanet App Server instead of web server

    Hello,
We have some perl scripts running on a iWS 6.0 in DMZ (Tier1) which acess Oracle Server(Tier 3). I want to restrict machines on DMZ access Oracle server directly. Instead I want all the database calls to orignate from iPlanet App server on Tier 2. To make this happen I have to run Perl scripts on App server. Is this feasible as the J2EE iPlanet App can run only C++ or Java.. Any leads helps me lot..
    Thanks
    Sudhir Nallagangu

According to the J2EE specs you should use EJBs and Servlets in the iAS! Running a perl script for db access sounds like good old cgi times.
But generally it is possible to call a perl script from within iAS. But don't do it!

  • JDeveloper 11g can't run Web application locally

    Hi,
I'm trying to run a simple Web Application with the integrated Weblogic, but it seems that JDev can't deploy the dependents jars. For example. I have this project that has the oracle.ucm.ridc.11.1.jar file in the Library Classpath. [05:01:10 PM] Remote deployment failed

If I open the war file (C:\Users\Glauco Castro\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.5.37.60.13\o.j2ee\drs\Worklist_jQuery\iPadWorklistWebApp.war) my jar files aren't there, but if I deploy the application to a war file, then it's present. Any clue?
    Thanks,
    Glauco

csoto, no, I don't have any of the jars you asked. I do have wlfullclient-11.1.4.jar on the list, but it's not checked.
Shay, i thought of that, but I don't think it's clever. Imagine if everytime i build a new project, with different jars, I have to put the jars in the server's lib dir. And yes, it's already marked to deploy by default.
    Thanks for the fast response.
    Glauco

  • Can't run J2EE app on AS 10.1.3

We have J2EE application based on Toplink/ADF/Struts. Our project is maintained in JDeveloper 10.1.2. We had no serious problems deploying our app to AS 10.1.2. But we cannot deploy it on 10.1.3. server. Before any jsp page shows, this internal error is shown:

Where can be the problem ? Must we convert aour project into JDeveloper 10.1.3 ? Whe tried it, no success so far. Thanks for any suggestions.

One small addition - even the simpliest application possible (one jsp, no classes, no data connection) can't run after deploy:

  • Problems trying to run JDeveloper 9.0.2 on Linux

    Dear All,
I am facing problems while trying to run JDeveloper 9.0.2 (release 2) on my Linux machine.
When I invoke jdev/bin/jdev file, the well-known JDeveloper window starts up, but in my console I keep on getting the following error:
    JDeveloper Error:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    at oracle.ide.marshal.xml.Object2Dom.getNamespaceURI(Object2Dom.java:1158)
    at oracle.ide.marshal.xml.Object2Dom.applyTransforms(Object2Dom.java:1177)

    at oracle.ide.Ide.startup(Ide.java:1544)

The situation becomes even more irritating when I realise that almost all actions that I try to perform (like when I try to add a new Project) are not executed (while I keep on getting the SAME error in my console as above with only the number of the final line that indicates where the first call occured changed).
Does anybody have any idea of what kind of dependency I may have forgotten and where ? The error seems to be related with some kind of xml (parser maybe ?) incompatibility ... Any clues ?

JDeveloper is only supported with JDK 1.3.1_02 as we are aware of some issues with 1.3.1_04. Can you try with JDK 1.3.1_02 and see whether the problem still reproduces.
    Thanks,
    Lisa
    JDev QA Dear Lisa,
As I have stated within my previous reply to your immediate answer/response, today I reverted my production PC at work to operate with a single processor Linux kernel (2.4.18-4GB) and also installed JDK 1.3.1_02 but still get the same irritating error that apparently does not allow me perform almost any action at all:

Based on your more advanced knowledge of the underlying architecture of JDeveloper, do you happen to have a more clear idea about it and especially the "oracle.ide.marshal.xml.Object2Dom.getNamespaceURI(Object2Dom.java:1158)" case ?
Is there anything that I have forgotten to properly configure during the installation of jdeveloper ?
Any other clues that could further assist me ? I am afraid I am still desperate for any king of useful derictives ?
I would once again like to thank you for your concern,
    Best regards,
    Nassos Koyrendas

  • What is the command to run Jdeveloper 12 in Linux?

After installing JD12 in Fedora Linux with KDE there are no new menu items that I could use to start the program.
There don't seem to be programs that start with 'jd' in the path either.
How can I run JD that I just installed?

  • When can we expect JDeveloper 11 preview?

Seeing the Statement of Direction, can we expect JDeveloper 11 some time shortly or will it be a long way to go..

As a preface, I do not work for Oracle...
My opinion - a beta program for a product is designed to do what? I would hope that a beta program for any software (like JDeveloper) would:
A). Get user feedback on the software in order to improve it.
    B). Find and fix bugs.
    So...
In terms of bugs, I won't speak for the Oracle folks, but I have seen plenty of activity on Oracle's part in filing bugs as a result of posts on this forum. I have even seen some of the ones that I've run into fixed in subsequent releases....
    My 2 cents/pence/shillings/etc...
After re-reading my post - I've added a clarification... I think the beta/developer preview program that Oracle currently uses for JDeveloper is working well...

Add the JARs listed earlier to the CLASSPATH environment variable in the bin/startWebLogic script of the WebLogic server domain,  for example  the C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\base_domain\bin\startWebLogic batch file.
    set CLASSPATH=%SAVE_CLASSPATH%;path\to\iText-2.1.7.jar;path\to\ jasperreports-4.0.1.jar;path\to\jasperreports-fonts-4.0.1.jar
    Restart WebLogic server.

  • Can I run the code in another project?

    I use Jdeveloper v903.
    I have three projects.
Can I run a project's code from other project within the same workspace?
    Stephen

Stephen, before I [try to] answer your question I think that you need to adjust a bit more to the paradigm shift between a form based application and the true oop metaphor.
Ok. Now, to accomplish what you want is simple. Suppose you have BC4j, Client1, and Client2 projects. Within Client2 you want to instantiate classes in Client1. Besides making Client2 dependant on Client1 in the settings, which by the way only simply ensures proper [re]build of projects, also make sure that your classes within each project are inside a package, then in the client2 code import the client1 package. Thats it.
In case you did not package your existing code, be ready for some jDev glitches in renaming/moving classes into a new package. You can use the refactor feature, but you should manually make absolutely sure your old classes are not still sitting around in the old hierarchy. Due to the hassle involved, if your jclient projects are relatively small (and again only if you did not package em up in the first place), you are better off creating new client projects and creating your classes in packages from the onset.
    Hope this helps;
    -Nat
