Can't see my Ipod-Just coming up on E Drive

I already have an ipod Nano.. & I jst trying help step-mum with her new one... Normally on mine I plug the Ipod in via USB Cable & it then shows my Ipod Icon on the left in Itunes. I then click & drag playlists on top the Ipod icon and they then Download. However on the S.Mums comp, once u connect Ipod.. it just comes up with the E Drive & has files for contacts etc, but no mention of music. I have updated ITunes.. any other ideas? As always - THANKS :O)

When I had the 9.2 version (the one before 10), just recently before I changed it to 10, my Ipod Icon wouldn't show up on Itunes so I couldnt sync my ipod or do anything, even though it was plugged and was charging. So, then I was like okay, maybe that's my cue to download the newest version of Itunes. Well once I did that, I could sync and see my ipod again on Itunes for a few days, but just now, I plugged in my Ipod and it's doing the same thing again! It's charging, but I can't see my ipod and its options. So I'm not sure if it's my Ipods problem or maybe it's not compatible to the version? I have the 2Gen Ipod touch. Anyone know?

It worked just fine last weekend. I have windows 8.1 and a brand new pc, new iPod also, the new Nano. now after the update today, iTunes says iPod has been detected but could not be indentified properly. I can see it in windows. I tried the reset on the iPod also. what else can I do?? HELP

Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

I just upgraded to Snow Leopard on my imac and now I can't see my ipod touch in itunes! Help!

Try reinstalling itunes on top of the current itunes ( do not uninstall/erase itunes first).

I have the newest version of the iPad and can not see it under devices in my iTunes account on my PC. I can however see my iPod touch under devices and sync it. How can I get my iPad to show under devices and sync as well?

I can't see my ipod in itunes and my computer. There is an error code 10
please help

My problem is almost the same, I went to plug my 60g iPod into my PC USB port, and it locked up my computer and iPod. Now my iPod is stuck on the Do not disconnect screen and hasn't even changed the time at the top, still stuck at 10:05AM. I'm getting kind of upset here. I haven't even had the thing for over a year yet and I keep it in good shape.
Any ideas on how to fix would be helpful.

OK ,try this
1) Quit iTunes
2) Eject the iPod using Windows Explorer.
3) Go to Task manager > Processes tab.
4) Click on the Image Name column to sort alphabetically.
5) End iPodService.exe and iTunesHelper.exe.
6) Click Start > Run and copy this string into the blank box
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"
keep the quotes, they are needed
7) Start iTunes
8) Plug in your nano

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Or search 'disk size' in the App Store.
Be carefull with what you delete & have a backup BEFORE you start, you may also want to reboot to try to free any memory that may have been written to disk.

Ubuntu, Windows, and iTunes can't see my iPod. What can I do?

I have an iPod 5g and i have been messing around with it and i discovered the problem of iTunesLock preventing me from accessing the iPod and putting itself back on. Well in a stroke of genius I deleted the Play Counts and iTunesLock files also trying to see if that would stop iTunesLock from reappearing every time i plug in my iPod.
Now my computer (running Ubuntu 7.10) does not see it at all. Also windows does not see it, until i remove it then it says my iPod is corrupted, but when i connect it, iTunes denies any knowledge of seeing it.
I tried to use this website to help and it did nothing for me.

Right now when i turn it on it shows the "Connect to computer. Use iTunes to restore iPod."
then it goes into disk mode. Strangely, even in disk mode neither windows nor Linux can see it.
I went into the diagnostics menu and everything seems to check out fine.
i know there is a .Trash-matthew file on the iPod and i have a great suspicion that if i can get on the iPod and see the hidden files then i could just put the file back.
Also BIOS does see it so I don't think its completely bricked yet.
I am using linux but I have access to Windows Vista. So I can work in either format.

Realizing it wasn't mounted tried to mount it and got this response:

Here is my problem :
