Oddly, you seem to be missing one: I also have one called
FileExporter2.iPhotoExporter
Is that really missing? Or just left off the list. Assuming it is missing... I'd reinstall the app:
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Since I have upgraded to Maverick, I can't seem to export in the m4v format.  Am I just missing it?

Since I upgraded to Mavericks, I can't seem to export in the m4v format in imovie.  Am I just missing it?

.m4v isn't a "format" and is just a file extension.
In the Mac OS an .m4v file would be opened and played by iTunes instead of QuickTime. That's all the extension is used for and you wan't to use .mp4 or .mov.

  • Help: can't seem to open my iphoto library

it's a large file sitting on a external hard drive
renamed the hard disk (it had a long name and I have a few drives now)
but then iphoto said it couldn't find the library
the files are still there (I right clicked and all seems good)
but I can't seem to open the photos no matter what I do?
    any ideas?
also, in my transition to 08 some files have gotten the exclamation mark treatment. now I think I have the files in earlier backups but is there a way to search for files that have this problem so that i don't have to go through the collection of 10000 shots one by one and then replace them?

If you want to keep the new names, launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and, when asked, locate the library on the external HD and select it. That should get you back up and running.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • I can't seem to export page documents as word documents

Recently, when try to save a pages document as a word document, I get a message that tells me that I can't export the document as a similarly named word document. What's happened? It is a new phenomenon, as I've been doing this as long as I've had Pages. Often the pages document was created by copying text from the internet.

I get a message that tells me that I can't export the document as a similarly named word document.
Are you trying to save it with the name of an already existing Word document in the same location??? If not try closing Pages, then delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist in ~ > Library > Preferences. restart the computer if you haven't done it lately. Try Export to Word in Pages again.

  • I can't seem to find my iphoto on my computer ....

I am unable to find iphoto on my Mac OS X (10.6.8).  Can someone help me locate it or let me know how to reload it?  Thx.

If iPhoto is still on your Mac, you should be able to find it with "Spotlight".
Click the looking glass icon in the upper right corner of the screen and enter "iPhoto" into the search field. You should see iPhoto in the drop-down list. Double click it to lauch.

  • I need help with color pallette in iPhoto 11. I have created a book and would like to use a different color background than those given in "background." I have found the color palettes but can't seem to incorporate them into my backgrounds palette.

That is not a feature of iPhoto - suggest to Apple - iPhoto Menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback.
Additionally I have no idea what you are saying here
I have found the color palettes but can't seem to incorporate them into my backgrounds palette.
And it always helps for you to dientify the version of iPhoto that you are using

  • Creating iphoto book and can't seem to view/ work on only one page at a time.

I am creating an iPhoto book and can't seem to view/work on only one page at a time.  The Navigator, that allows you to focus on a part of the page is actually 1 1/2 pages in size so 1 1/2 pages are in view when trying to work on one page.  What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this.  It is very distracting viewing half of a previous page when trying to create a new page and write a story to go with the related pictures.

My Navigator seems to be to large.  It covers 1 1/2 pages while in the training information it shows as the size of one page.  Is there a way to adjust the size of the Navigator?
You can hover the mouse over the left border of the Navigator - then the cursor will turn into a resize cursor and you can drag the border and make the Navigator panel smaller by enlarging the source list.
Or drag the lower right corner of the iPhoto window and shrink the appliaction window. This will only make the navigator smaller - the source list and information panel will stay the same size.

Are you running Snow Leopard or Lion?  Your info says Snow Leopard.  If it's lion then:
In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
Then you can locate the folders mentioned.

  • I'm trying to update iPhoto 7.1.5 to current versions so I can get my photos onto iCloud to access from my iPad.  I can't seem to find an upgrade route that will work?  Any suggestions?

I'm trying to update iPhoto 7.1.5 on my old iMac (running  10.9.5) to current versions so I can get my photos onto iCloud to access from my iPad.  I can't seem to find an upgrade route that will work?  Any suggestions?

For Mavericks you need to upgrade to iPhoto 9.5.1.
You cannot buy this version from the AppStore, since the current version is iPhoto 9.6, and that requires Yosemite. The easiest route for you would be to upgrade to Yosemite. Then you can simply buy the newest version of iPhoto from the App Store and can use iCloud Photo Library (iCloud Photo Library beta FAQ), once it has been release for the Mac as well early next year.
If you want to stick with Mavericks, you'll have limited iCloud features, only the Photo Streams  (iCloud: iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ), but no iCloud Drive (iCloud Drive FAQ) and iCloud Photo Library.  And to upgrade iPhoto you need to buy an iPhoto '11 installer. It comes as part of iLife '11. You can try to buy a boxed version from Amazon or try to find it at eBay.  Once installed on Mavericks, download the iPhoto '11 updaters from the apple Support Downloads page.

  • I have bought a 2nd hand late 2008 macbook air and can't install iPhoto as it requires update 10.9 or higher i can't seem to update any further than 10.7.5 help???

I have bought a 2nd hand late 2008 macbook air and can't install iPhoto as it says it requires update 10.9 or higher i can't seem to update any further than 10.7.5 can anyone help please???

Thankyou for your response... being new to this i have had a look and it says the following
This system can run the last version of OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" as well as the current version of OS X 10.9 "Mavericks," but does not support the AirDrop, AirPlay Mirroring, or Power Nap features. It is not supported booting into 64-bit mode when running Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard." It does support "OpenCL" and Grand Central Dispatch introduced with Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard."
Please note that OS X "Lion" 10.7 and subsequent versions of OS X, like Mountain Lion and Mavericks, are not capable of running Mac OS X apps originally written for the PowerPC processor as these operating systems do not support the "Rosetta" environment. To run PowerPC applications on this Mac, it will be necessary to use Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" or earlier
    what do i do next
Thankyou once again for your reply

  • I can export many iphoto events to a Data stick. I want to do the same with a DVD. When I do the DVD window is blank. If I drag and drop can only do one. Help

I can "export", using file, many iphoto events to a data disk. When I do the same to a DVD the DVD window is blank and nothing has been exported. When I use drag and drop to a DVD it works but I can only get one event on the disk. How do I export many iphoto events to a DVD. I am using a write only DVD. I am using a Mac Book Pro OS 10. Thanks in advance.
    Gord

When I click on the data stick icon on my desk top a window comes up. It lists the various events that I have exported. If i click on an event each picture shows up in a list. I can click on the picture and view a jpeg photo or view a avi video. When I export I select "original" as the file type. When I export to a DVD and klick on the the DVD icon the window shows up but it is blank.

  • I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?

I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning?  Presently after exporting and burning each photo is identified by the file name rather than each individual title description.

File name and Title are not the same thing.
Filename is attached to the Jpeg file in the Finder.
Title is attached to the photo within the Jpeg file - as is the description. These are written to the Exif and IPTC metadata on export.
So: File -> Export. Kind: Jpeg or Tiff and Check the box at 'Title and Keywords'. This will write the Title, keywords and descriptions (though not explicitly stated) to the metadata. This can then be viewed in any app that understand this material.
You can choose, if you wish, to also use the Title as a Filename - that's an option at File Name

  • How can I get my aperture library exported to iphoto?

Can anyone specifically tell me how to move pictures from aperture to iphoto? Thanks!

You can't import an entire actual Aperture library file into iPhoto.
But you can always create an album with all the images you want to export, select File>Export Versions and then export them to a folder where you can then import them from within iPhoto. You'll be making duplicates (just so you'll know that it will take up some additional disk space.)
If you have some sort of structure you want, you could do this with multiple albums so that iPhoto imports them as individual rolls.

  • How do I label a photo so that I can export the iPhoto and have the label stay with the picture

How do I label a picture in iPhoto so that the label stays when I export the iPhoto to a dvd?

What do you mean by 'label' exactly? I can think of several possibilities:
    Text on the Photo
Coloured Label like a Finder label
Text in the Exif or IPTC metadata
    Filename
and we've see all of these used on here as 'label'. So if you can clarify we can help more.
