Can't start imported VirtualBox appliance on Arch host with errors

(I have been referred here from this thread in the VirtualBox forums because it is suspected that the problem is Arch-specific)
I've installed latest VirtualBox 4.0.4 via pacman in a fully updated Arch Linux system.
Then, I successfully imported the Zero Effort Groupware (ZEG) 1.3.5 appliance (which is an Ubuntu guest virtual machine) into VirtualBox. I followed all the instructions on the appliance's website to do so.
When I try to start the virtual machine I get:

The first part of the warning message was in german, so it's probably not translated as it really appears in englisch:

What changed since is also, that the mini privew for this document no more exist; it shows just the inumbers icon in the sheet. The other documents around this one appears with preview and can be open, e.g. are working fine.

Notes: I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) in the last week. It’s the first time I’m tried to backup/update my iPad since the iMac update.
I swapped out the USB cable to a new cable and get the same results.
I also unplugged all other USB devices from the iMac and security on my iPad and still get the same results.
I find it strange that it shows no Serial number for my my iPad 2 when plugged in. It shows “Serial Number: n/a on the screen when it displays: “iPad Recovery Mode To update your iPad without erasing its contents, click Update. To restore your iPad to its factory settings, click Restore iPad.
I prefer to update my iPad, but it displays “Your iPad can’t be updated, you must restore it to factory settings. If you previously backed up the iPad, click Restore Backup after the restore process completes.”
It’s a continuous loop. I get the display on my iPad to plug in the iPad to iTunes, plug it in which ends after going through the above procedure saying an error occurred (9).
So now I cannot use my iPad. When I turn it on I get the display showing me to plug it into iTunes with the cable. Since this is the only option I have I plug it in and the loop begins.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

Check your security software
Related errors: 2, 4, 6, 9, 1000, 1611, 9006. Sometimes security software can prevent your device from communicating with either the Apple update server or with your device.
Check your security software and settings to make sure that they aren't preventing a connection to the Apple servers.

That would require to know your hosting provider and his requirements. And therein also lies the answer: You cannot blindly design a form in Muse and just hope it will work, you have to know this stuff beforehand and design "to spec".

Can't start any VirtualBox machines in VDI 3.1

I have set up a VDI 3.1 demo setup on one box (quad-Xeon, 4 GB ram), but I am having trouble with starting a VirtualBox machine on it. When ever I go to Pools -> 'pool' -> Desktop, and try to start the machine I have made on my desktop machine and imported, I get the following error messages in /var/cacao/instances/default/logs/cacao.0:

I tried with 6 GB RAM in the machine instead, when the machine was using 1.97 GB (according to the VDI interface), and it still comes out with the same error messages.
How about those iSCSI error messages I am getting? "Desktop Kubuntu 9.10 failed to start, probably due to failed iSCSI login, retrying..."
There shouldn't be anything else I should do besides activating the iscsitgtd service, is there?

No alerts are being generated in the alert log. And I have looked at this errror in the docs and it says that it is related to OS/cluster interconnect but those are also fine as indicated in the alert log. I saw some metalink notes but they are specific to other OS's.

to attempt these steps :
a) You have already mentioned this but recheck the
alert.log file for this instanceThere is nothing in the alertlog.
to verify if there are any errors reported.
Check the udump / bdump locations for any trace files

I'm at the last stage of importing my VM's into mypool which I created and the importing fails with Job failed. I do not have large space /var/tmp and have setup a link to the VM's

Thanks for your reply. I have finished the VDI 3.0 Install and everything works fine now. For some reason even though the Storage OS was opensolaris 2008.11 but running on a VM it did not like that and once I dedicated a seperate box, then things worked fine. I just redid the install of the VM to try if it goes through and this time it works well. So my setup as of now has everything running on a ASUS MBD whitebox with Open Solaris running as a VM in Virtual Box and acting as a ZFS Storage (Virtualbox is running inside the GA release. However I would like to run everything in one OS which would be the GA. I tried setting up the iSCSI interface in GA and it did not work. Any ideas on how I can make this work on just one platform ?

Can't start reports server on Windows Server 2003 SP1 Error code 13

This morning I figured how to start the rwserver using the command, rwserver server = repsrv. This works using XP pro physical machine but now I am trying to perform the same task on a Windows 2003 virtual machine.
I have used the line:
rwserver -install repsrv.
To add repserv to the list of available services in computer management. This has appeared as an avaiable service and so I click to start it, unfortunately every time I do I get the error message:

I am assuming this is a security issue with Windows 2003 but I can't find a cure anywhere.

Hello,
Step 1) Check that you can start the reports server from a "DOS Window" :
rwserver server=repserver
Step 2) Check the PATH set for rwserver.exe when it is running as a service
Some sysinternals utilities like Process Explorer / filemon may help :

Can't start phpmyadmin. Keep getting the #2002 socket error

I've been trying to set mysql and phpMyAdmin for the last 12 hours, without any success. I've tried everything - from changing the
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['port']
in the config.inc.php file to 3306, 127.0.0.1....
typing the socket path in the config.inc.php file - both "tmp/mysql.php" and the "/var/mysql/mysql.sock".
I've tried changing the socket path in the my.cnf file and the php.ini....but I keep getting the same error #2002 - No such file or directory
The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).
I'm using MySQL 5.1.65
PhpMyAdmin 3.5.2.2.
PHP 5.3.8
PLEASE, anybody tell me what am I doing wrong here? I'm stuck and frustrated....

Because I was using MAMP and now trying to use OS X Server only and postgreSQL thought after having lost an hour on the matter to explain the configuration I have to cross link OS X Server PHP to MAMP's mySQL :
To avoid conflict you need to set MAMP's apache port to something else OS X Server websites.
Thus by doing so you must allow remote access to mySQL.
Default parameters would then be :
host : localhost
port : 3306 or other if specified
socket : /Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock
connection type : socket
Which worked absolutely fine using :

With phpMyAdmin consider installing another instance else where and be aware of cookies issues test with a dummy.php file that it works thus if you get a #2002 error delete the cookie...
When I get rid of MAMP I'll go straight to the MySQL Community Server and fetch the latest DMG Archive.

How can I get my Creative Suite programs to open with error 148:3?

I bought Creative Suite Jan 21, 2010 and have never had a problem with this. I was having computer problems, so I took my computer to a repair shop. After bringing it home today, I can not open any of the Creative Suite programs. I get an error code 148:3. I reads licensing for this produce has stopped working. I need help please!

Captivate file suddenly unable to record/import/copy and paste - shuts down with error message.

I have a project with lots of recording and I am now unable to do any of the following. Suddenly when I try to:
add a new recording slide
import a recording slide from another file (one by one)
copy and paste a recording slide from another file
Captivate freezes and shuts down because it incorporated an error. Then it tells me that another instance of captivate is recording and to shut it down when I re-open it and try to record again. (there isn't another open)
I have tried:
opening it and renaming it and shrinking the file size, but if I need to do one more recording it freezes on the new file.
opening a new file and recording. this works, but the problem is that I cannot import or paste the other slides from the original file into the new file to make it complete. I also cannot import this new recording into my original file to make it complete.
opening the backup and trying to import or record.
saving it under a new name and trying to import or record.
Any sugestions?

I have a KMS Host with Windows Server 2012 R2. I don't have problems installing keys for Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Office 2013, Windows Server 2012 R2. However, when I tried install keys for Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2008, I have the next message:

Error: 0xC004F050 The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is invalid
I've installed the keys from the same source.

For a KMShost with the OS=WS2012R2, you cannot, and, there is no need to, install any other Windows KMShost keys. The WS2012R2 KMShost key, by itself, will activate the KMShost OS, and will also enable the issuing of activations for ALL Windows KMSclients.
Office KMS features are different, and do need to be installed for Office KMSclient activations.
The error you are experiencing is expected, and is a result of your attempt to perform an unnecessary configuration step.

ITUNES WILL NOT IMPORT CD STARTS IMPORT AND SHUT DOWN

i HAVE BEEN TRYING TO IMPORT SONGS INTO 5TH GEN POD USING WIN XP AND ITUNES. PUT CD IN AND ITUNES STARTS, TELL ITUNES TO IMPORT, STARTS IMPORT, RUNS TEN SEC. SHUTS DOWN, ERROR SAID THAT ITUNE IS SHUTING DOWN, SENDS ERROR REPORT, DID THIS HUNDREDS OF TIMES. RELOADED, UPDATED, UNINSTALLED REINSTALLED. I CAN RIP ALL DAY WITH WIN MEDIA, NOT ITUNES. WISH I HAD NOT SPENT MONEY ON THIS IPOD, MY CHILD IS DRIVING CRAZY ABOUT GETTING SONG ON POD. WISKED I JUST GOT MP3 PLAYER. WHO SIAD IPOD WERE BSET IS FULL OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have really never tried to import any music before. I had an MP3 ripper from another MP3 player that I used to create MP3s and download them to the MP3 player.
In an effort to fix this issue, I bought a new CD/DVD-rom drive (Sony DRU-820A) and installed it. I have gotten the latest drivers for it also, but no success.

Just upgraded to Lion and can no longer import any .mov files ("file not supported") to 3.1.3. Also can no longer view any .mov or .mp4 files already in library.

Have been using Aperture 3.1.3 with no problems. Importing from a Nikon D80 (RAW & JPEG), Casio (.MOV) and Flip (.mp4). Could import and view all videos without issue prior to Lion upgrade. After Lion installation, can no longer import .mov files (get "file not supported" error) or even view any .mov or .mp4 files currently in library (even though thumbnail is present). Can watch the .mov files directly on my camera using Quicktime in Finder but can't even drag & drop that file into Aperture. Anybody else having similar problems?

Still no resolution and Geniuses at store could not assist. Unfortunately, it looks like not all the applications were ready to support the Lion operating system. We could not import any .mov files, could no longer view any .mov files already in my Aperture library and could not email any .mov files. Totally frustrated. Use Aperture almost daily and can't lose the video functionality. Was also running dog-slow. Constantly looking at the spinning wheel. Geniuses suggested that I wipe out hard drive and reinstall Snow Leopard. Had full backup on external drive with Time Machine.
Not an easy process though...had to reinstall several times (at 5 hours each time) because I continued to have issues. Finally figured out that I needed to delete every backup file from Time Machine on external drive from the date I installed Lion because some of the hidden files were still migrating back to Snow Leopard.
I had to:
1. Delete all time machine backup files from date/time of Lion installation forward
2. Do "clean" installation of Snow Leopard (wiped hard drive using disk utility and booted with Snow Leopard disc)
3. Chose option to reinstall from backup off Time Machine which eventually got me back to Snow Leopard desktop
4. Deleted Aperture program and reinstalled (I had to install Aperture 2 and then install Aperture 3 upgrade.
5. Reinstalled iLife apps
5. Applied all Apple updates available (again this took a few hours because there were several updates from Snow Leopard's original release plus Aperture 3 and other application updates)
Still doing some tweaking on some of my other apps but got everything back to where I originally was. Now plan to wait on a few version updates from Lion before reinstalling.
I am one of Apple's biggest fans, but was very disappointed in the fact that I lost functionality in one of their own pieces of software (which I use the most!) by installing Lion.

True. I removed all the Oracle stuff from my machine using this page's instructions ( ORACLE-BASE - Manual Oracle Uninstall ) and then re-install the XE again and now it is working.
Only problem is that when installing I could not give the Oracle Base directory properly.
I gave c:\oracle as the destination direcotry. Then the Oracle Base is taken as that (c:\oracle), BUT
the Oracle Home comes as c:\oracle\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server.
According to OFA, if c:\oracle is the ORACLE_BASE, then the ORACLE_HOME should be
c:\oracle\product\11.2.0\server_1, but it creates the app\oracle sub-directories beneath the oracle base???
Also, can I install more than 1 oracle XE DB in the same machine? I tried but you only get repair and delete options int eh OUI.
