Can't start the J2EE applications
Hello,
I recently installed Oracle 10g on RHEL. After the installation was complete, I got the following links to access the various J2EE applications.
iSQL*Plus URL:
http://nmcerp:5560/isqlplus
iSQL*Plus DBA URL:
http://nmcerp:5560/isqlplus/dba
Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control URL:
http://nmcerp:1158/em
I restarted the machine. And then suddenly it stopped working. It's failing to connect. What may be the issue and hoe can I solve it?
Thanks.

You have to start isqlplus and dbcontrol as
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/./isqlplusctl start
export ORACLE_SID=<YOUR_DB>
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/./emctl start dbconsole

Can't find the J2EE Application JDBC Module Datasource in Weblogic
Hello,
I am trying to locate the JDBC Module J2EE application Datasource details in weblogic but I cant find it.
Can someone help me where I can find any Mbean in Weblogic which will specify all the details about the DataSource.
You can see in the image that under deployment I have an application which has Data source(saasreporef).
I have already discovered this target in one of my agent and I want to locate some Mbean which can give me details about this Datasource in Weblogic.I've solved it myself. It changed to NWDS from the Visual Administrator. It can be undepolyed using undepoly view in the NWDS.
I can find the answer using keword 'Deploying and Running the Application from NWDS' in the help portal. -

Starting the J2EE..
Hi,
We have EP7 SP11 installed on a Win2003 x86 64bit Server. After the windows server reboot the J2EE engine is not started automatically, we have to go to startup framework enter the authentication details and then the J2EE starts.
Is there anyway by which i can automatically start the J2EE engine after the windows server reboot ?
Thanks!!Hi Kiran
You need to set the value of the Autostart parameter to '1' in both the profiles START_<InstanceID>_<host> and
START_<Central instanceID>_<host>
under \usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile directory.
After this the J2EE Engine should start automatically when the OS boots.
Cheers.

Help:How can I run the J2EE Client Application? Thanks
Help:How can I run the J2EE Client Application that will access the remote J2EE1.4 application server which runs on another host computer?
I have developped a stateles senterprise java bean name converter and deloyed it in the j2ee1.4 application server on the host machine A. The converterbean provides the remote home interface and remote interface. At the same time I have developped the j2ee application client named convertappclient. When I access the conveter bean at host computer A through the script 'appclient.bat' as 'appclient -client convertappclient.jar', the client can access the bean sucessfully. Now I want to access the bean through the script 'appclient.bat' at host computer B,what files should I copy from host computer A to host computer B;and what the command line should be like? Thanks!
The following are the code of the enterprise java bean and it's home interface .
The client code is also provided.

import java.rmi.RemoteException;
import java.math.*;
public interface Converter extends EJBObject {

import java.math.BigDecimal;
public class ConverterClient {

I have checked the CONFIGTOOl and the properties seem to be OK.
I tried SHUTTING DOWN all APPLICATION servers & Restarting the DEPLOYMENT,but it still Failed
Pls suggest.

IHi George,
Thnx for your reply.
I have stopped all Application servers and kept only the CI-DB instances running.Retried deploying the ESS packages but still getting the same error.
Have checked the Visual admin,it is not in SAFE mode,it working normally.
Have alos checked the CLUSTER Manager Property Values in both Visual Admin & Config Tool, they are alright.
About the Cluster Resources, can you pls specify what exactly do you mean by "Cluster Resources are running or not".
I think if the application servers are stopped, then the Cluster resources shudnt come into play right?? Correct me if I am wrong.
Kindly suggest what other steps I shud take.

Deployment SDM could not start the J2EE Cluster on the host nw4host
Hello,
I installed the WAS testdrive on Linux SUSE 9.3 and the SNDS on WinXP.
I am trying to deploy the welcome application from the SNDS and get the following error message:

Question about the choice of containers of the J2EE application server
Hello,
I need to be clarified about the J2EE technology. After read some documentation about J2EE, I saw that it is possible to use different kind of containers in order to develop a J2EE application.
Actually I use an application server (JONAS) with tomcat embbeded so I develop my application that is composed by EJB and servlet. So when I build and deploy my application at the end I have got a .ear, and everything works well.
But my questions are:
1- If I installe a J2EE server where a web server (Tomcat or another) is already installed can I use this web server as my web container.
2- If it is possible how can I indicate to my J2EE server that I want to use this web server as a web container?
3- And for my application does the .ear will work or do I have to split my entire application in .jar for the EJB and .WAR for the servlet.
4- My last question, how my .war and .jar will know that they have to work together, in fact do I have to precise a link between them if yes how?
Thank you very much for any information1. Every J2EE server must have a web container, so one will always be installed. As long as you write a compliant .war that is deployed either stand-alone or as part of an .ear, you can be guaranteed it will deploy and run.
2. The fact that you are deploying a .war or an .ear that contains 1 or more .wars is enough for the J2EE product to know you need to run the web-application on the web container. Many people uses the terms
web server and web container interchangeably. Often people are more likely to use the term web server if it runs as a separate process. If it helps, you can think of the J2EE web container as being an implementation of a servlet and jsp container that runs on top of a regular HTTP engine, but J2EE vendors don't necessarily have to have separate products for each.
3. You can either deploy a standalone .war or embed 1 or more .wars within an .ear.
4. The fact that you have a .war and an ejb-jar within the same .ear tells the application
server that they're part of the same application. If you need to talk between your web application
and the ejb, there are number of ways to express that dependency. E.g., if you want to invoke on
an ejb through its Remote client view, you would define an ejb-ref in the environment of the web-application.

CG02 Report from Template error when starting the display application
System info: SAP GUI 720 (patch 10007878), ECC 6.0, SAP_APPL/EA-APPL 605, WWI 2.7 (patch 20000084)
Hi, folks.
I was able to execute CG02 'Report from Template' function. My local MS Word 2003 would open successfully to display the report as expected. Suddenly, I couldn't do that anymore. I'm now getting msg "An error occurred when starting the display application" (C$772). And I didn't change anything.
Any clue to what has happened or why it is happening? In my Word, I have 'C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui\wwi' set as the file location for User templates. What else should I check?
Thanks in advance.Hi, Caroline.
Thanks for pointing me (back) to it! (I've encountered a similar issue with the same param back in 2010...)
I'm positive that the problem started after I tried to run the transaction code (of my custom report program that does the CG02 'Report from Template' function) from the web gui ('You Can Also' menu function). Somehow, the standard SAP fms within It changed the param ESWWI_INST value from 'EXISTFRONT' to 'WWISERVER'. So when I ran CG02 and the WWI server is not available yet, I received the error msg. -
CG54--Report from Template error when starting the display application
Hi,
Currently I have MS 2013 installed on my workstatsion. But now whenever I try to open a template for any specification I get error "
An error occurred when starting the display application--Message no. C$772"
I have SAP Logon 730 Patch 11. Also in User profile I maintain EXISTFRONT for ESWWI_INST. But for some reason it keeps on getting reset as WWISERVER.
Need help on the same.
Regards,
RohanDear Rohan
your local WWI installation seems to be dusrupted. Check e.g. EHS- Inconsistent WWI Report behaviour for different users
and many similar threads. Check OSS Marketplace for Release of WWI in regards of WinWord 2013
Dear Camila
according to my knowlede: the local WWI insztallaiton is not a "generation server" one. The parameter symbol you have mentioned is dedicated for WWI server set upin GLM area only. Therefore your hint will not work (according to my knowledge). But there is some "but"...
With SAP ERP EnhPack 3 you need not to install any more a local WWi but could use a WWI gen server farm. If you can use this option the WWI set up is very different. In this case may be your hint is correct.

Hi:
I am new to J2EE and I followed the instruction on the J2EE Tutorial setting up the J2EE SDK. When I tried to start the J2EE server by typing in "C:\j2ee -verbose", the server can't seem to start... After it gets to "Starting JMS service..." , it jumps back to the command prompt "C:\>"
If I then try to do a "j2ee -stop", I get an error "javax.naming.CommunicationException: Can't find SerialContextProvider" (which, I think, indicates the server never got started)
I am using Windows 2000 and I am pretty sure I have the environment variables set properly. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanx!

How can I deploy the WAR application in the Tomcat
How can I deploy the WAR application in the Tomcat. Do I have to do any manifest file.
Thanks
S. NikovFirst of all, which version of Tomcat are you using?
Deploying a WAR file in Tomcat is very easy. Just put the WAR file in the %TOMCAT_HOME%\webapps directory and start Tomcat. It will automatically find the WAR.
Please read the Tomcat documentation: start Tomcat and point your browser to http://localhost:8080

Hi:
I am having problem starting the J2EE Server.
I have looked through this page where lots of people had similar problem:
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=136&thread=468079
but the solutions provided there could not solve my problem...
My problem, specifically, is that when I try to start the sever, I get:
com.sun.enterprise.admin.servermgmt.DomainException: ...
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
I am using Windows XP Professional on IBM ThinkPad X30.
Does anyone have some idea how to solve the problem?
Thanx!bsankararao,
Thanks for the quick response. I am currently using the latest IE6.0 XPXP2 version and yes I doe have a successful start of the domain1 process. Here is the startup log for verification:
