Can't Update 10.2.8 on our G3 iBook

My wife and I have a iBook G3 running 700MGz and 256ram.
It has been a wonderful machine but we can't update it. There are about five or six updates and we can't get it to work.
As we update it quits and says updates have unexpectingly quit and this will not affect any programs. It does this every time about half way through downloading. Nothing installs at all.
I have tried to repair permissions but it still fails. We are running OS 10.2.8.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

When you click on "Software Update" in the Apple Menu, does it indicate that new software is available for your computer?
10.2.8 is the highest version of OS X 10.2. I suppose you know that?
You can't get 10.3 (and higher) via a software update (if that's what you are trying to do).
A lot of the update downloads available on Apple's website are for later versions of the OS, so those wouldn't work for you. (That's why I was asking for specifics.)

  • How can i update our JDK version in EP 7.0 server

    Dear all:
As we known, before we install any NW2004s products,we should install
    Java for install Environment.
Our NW2004s EP 7.0 already installed and Go-Live.These days,we found
that our EP system auto-restart often.Through the LOG-View, we found
lots of error like"Out of Memory" and we search many SAP Notes:723909
and 718901.It seems that we should update our version of the Java
    software(which locate in C:\j2sdk1.4.2_09)
So, how can i update our JDK from 1.4.2.09 to 1.4.2.15?Uninstall
older and re-install the new one?IS there effect to our EP application?
    Thanks.

    Hi Shao,
Usually when installing the NW system it is recommended that you install the jre in a location like C:\JRE in order to assist with the upgrade issues of the jre. Incase you havent followed a pattern like that, you could install the new jre in the same location as the old one. Please take a down time of the EP system while doing so.

  • HT1212 I am unable to get our of a continuous cycle when trying to update or restore my iPad 2. Plug in to iTunes 12.0.1 (latest version). Click update, told can't update, have to restore. Restore fails with error 9. Any help appreciated.

When I tried to update my iPad I got an error 9. Now, I am unable to access my iPad. It is in a continuous cycle when I try to update or restore the iPad 2. Plug in to iTunes 12.0.1 (latest version). Click update, told can't update, have to restore. Restore fails with error 9. Any help appreciated.
    Here's the cycle:
I plug in my iPad when “cable to iTunes shows on iPad screen. It says "Your iPad can't be updated, you must restore it to factory settings." That bad enough news, but it gets worse.
    Click Restore
    Extracting software…
    Preparing iPad for restore
    Waiting for iPad…
    Verifying iPad restore with Apple…
(empty bar under the Apple logo…does not show any activity)
“The iPad “iPad” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9).”
Notes: I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011) in the last week. It’s the first time I’m tried to backup/update my iPad since the iMac update.
I swapped out the USB cable to a new cable and get the same results.
I also unplugged all other USB devices from the iMac and security on my iPad and still get the same results.
I find it strange that it shows no Serial number for my my iPad 2 when plugged in. It shows “Serial Number: n/a on the screen when it displays: “iPad Recovery Mode To update your iPad without erasing its contents, click Update. To restore your iPad to its factory settings, click Restore iPad.
I prefer to update my iPad, but it displays “Your iPad can’t be updated, you must restore it to factory settings. If you previously backed up the iPad, click Restore Backup after the restore process completes.”
It’s a continuous loop. I get the display on my iPad to plug in the iPad to iTunes, plug it in which ends after going through the above procedure saying an error occurred (9).
So now I cannot use my iPad. When I turn it on I get the display showing me to plug it into iTunes with the cable. Since this is the only option I have I plug it in and the loop begins.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hello jaybearden,
Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you are not able to restore the iOS device since you get an error 9. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

    Couple of pointers.
1 - use [ code ] tags to post code
2 - that is WAY too much code for more than a cursory glance. You're lucky the problem was easy to spot.
Your problem lies in your edit JSP form:
    <td>Product Name:</td>
<td><input name="description" type="text" value="<jsp:getProperty name="inventoryBean" property="item" />"></td>Note that the name of the input field is different from the jsp property you are populating it with.
In fact, all of your input fields have a name of "description"
I would recommend on your inventory_admin.jsp page that you put the following debugging code to make sure that the parameter values come through and are set correctly.
      out.println("name = param: " + request.getParameter("name") + "bean = " + inventoryBean.getName() + "<BR>");
      out.println("description = param:" + request.getParameter("description") + "bean = " + inventoryBean.getDescription() + "<BR>");

  • Have a company based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices. can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)

i am an IT manager for a bank.  we have several company owned iphones. WE have also implemented a mobile device management system to manage our iphones.
We setup acompany based itunes account, trying to share itunes on bank owned devices.  This way i can add bank approved apps to the devices through our itunes account and push out to the iphones, and no one can download any other non bank approved apps.
it has been working ok. but recently i had one user who came in.  He went to enter in his itunes account on the phone and didn't work. So then came back and my staff and myself have (as much as we can see) removed his email account itunes login from all sections in settings. and entered in our itunes account information, but when you go to the app store, and hit upgrade, it still shows his email account for itunes.  I feel like i can't get all devices to keep our shared password on them without requesting user to enter password (which i am not giving them)
How can i troubleshoot his device. i tried changing password 5 times today, rebooted device, and no change.
    Jenn McGlynn

i have an MDM application, and i push out the apps i want them to have with our IT apple id account. for some reason when two approved apps needed updating last week, they prompted him for our password. (which i told him to bring phone in and i would enter password).
but somehow he went to try to enter his personal to make it work (don't know why)
somewhere it's keeping his personal email. i went into itunes/apps and our apple id is in there.
there is nothing in icloud b/c we do not allow icloud, so that's clear.

  • Can't update Itunes email because it had once been used by other account

    Hello,
How might I go about "freeing" my former Itunes email, so my wife can use it for her account?
In the last year I've updated my Itunes account from our family email account to a new email address. That change worked fine.
My wife would now like to use my former email address for her Itunes account. It is a valid address, but the Itunes store won't allow her to use it because it says it's in use by another user or account. Since I was the former user of that account and have since updated, I don't understand why she can't use it.
We still use it for our family email account.
    Thank you.

    Hi Brian...
No guarantees, but try deleting the cache and cookies associated with the App Store.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Finder, hold the Option key, and choose Go > Library
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
    Deleting cookies may also help.
Go to ~/Library/Cookies. Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
See if you can update Twitter.
You can report this incident to Apple >  Apple - Support - Mac App Store - Contact Support

  • How can I update the firmware all at once

I'm a tech support in a school, approximately our school has over 500 laptops, how can I update the firmware on all laptops at once?

Apple Configurator is the software you want - and it's free from Apple. However, I'm dubious that firmware can be updated all at once.

  • Can I update more than one iPad and iPhone from the same MacBook pro?

Can I update more than one iPad and iPhone to ios 5 from the same MacBook pro? Our family has one MacBook pro and several iphones and ipads.  No one wants to lose their iTunes music or contact list or calendars.

Yes, but you will want to think it through before you do it.
The computer will become the "master" device, holding the definitive collection of music, photos, contacts, etc., and each iPad or iPhone will get a copy of what's on the computer. So if  everyone has different collections of music or photos that you all want to keep separate from each other, you'll want to set up different accounts on the MacBook Pro. To do that, go into "System Preferences" and click "Users", then click the "+" to create a new account for each person who needs their own set of files.
That way you can each log in to your own MacBook account before you sync your iPhone or iPad, and everyone has their own copy of iTunes and their own iPhoto. If you happen to plug in an iPhone while logged into someone else's account, you just click "don't sync" (the 1st time only, it will remember after that). Sharing the same files becomes tricky, so this is only the best method if you want to keep things 100% separate.
On the other hand, if you all have your music and photos mishmashed together on the MacBook anyway or just don't care about keeping things separate, just go ahead and sync your iPhones and iPads without setting up new accounts. But in this case, you should create playlists and photo albums in iTunes and iPhoto. Then plug in an iPhone, click on it's icon in iTunes, and change the settings for Music, Photos, etc to only sync the playlists that you want on that device. Repeat for each one. They'll all remember their own settings, and continue to sync with their designated playlists or albums.
What you cannot do is use more than one computer with a single iPhone. That will wipe out the music and photos that were on it already, replacing them with the ones on the second computer.

  • Can't update song information

After upgrading to iTunes 7.0, I'm starting to notice that I can't update the song information such as Name, Genre, Artwork, etc... My iTunes library resides on a afp volume mounted on an iMac. I've doubled checked the permissions and the logged in account has read/write/modify access to this volume. If I open the the selected song in finder for instance, I can rename the file. If I convert the file to mp3, iTunes is happy to make a copy and can write to the volume but the copy can't be edited either. Selecting "Convert ID3 tag...." on this song result in an error box "Could not convert ID3 tags for all of the selected song. The songs may be write-protected or of the wrong type.". Again, the file is not write protected. What's puzzeling is that not all files are affected. Some mp3's in the collection can be edited while some can't. Anyone experiencing this as well? Any clue?

  • What if my ipod touch 4th generation can't update and now the only option is to restore it. And i don't know what happens if i press restore?

What if my ipod touch 4th generation can't update and now the only option is to restore it.
And i don't know what happens if i press restore?
Will it show my back up and back it up or what?
And if that does happen will all my pictures stil be there?
Also i'm not on a apple computer.

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Either a PC or Mac work the same.
The photos in our iPod's Camera Roll album will be restored as will the last 30 days of photos in our PhotoStream album

  • How can I update some field values after entering mat. number in purc. req?

    Hi.
We want Account Assignment Category field to come as "K" for some material numbers. After we enter material number in ME51N screen, if material number is one of our "K" related materials, Account Assignment Category field should be updated automatically as "K".
Account assignment tab becomes active in item level after entering "K" and we want "cost center" field to be filled in that tab according to given material number.
These fields can be updated during creating or when saving the purchase requisions. Any suggessions please?
    Regards.

    Hi faramozza ,
you can achieve this by implementing either customer exit or BADI.
In purchase requisition context these could be useful:
    Customer Exit:
    MEREQ001
    BADI:
    ME_PROCESS_PR_REQ

  • We have an ipod 3 and every time we try to download an app it tells us we need to update to 4.3 and our version is 4.2.1 but no updates available what do we do

We just bought a used ipod generation 3 and we are trying to download some games and every game requires the update of 4.3. and ours is at 4.2.1 but it tells us it is up to date and how are you able to get this version?

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Air Display can't update

Does anyone know why this is happening? I use an app called Air Display on my iPad to use as an extra monitor for my iMac, and the Host can't update. I've had no problems in the past on Mountain Lion, but since upgrading to Mavericks, I can't update. Whenever it says there is an update available and I try to install it, the below screenshot happens:
Despite it saying "the new version will be available next time you run Air Display Host" it's still the old version. And it keeps asking me to update, which I can't. I've done reboots, full shut downs, etc. and I can't get it to work.

Hi. Sorry about that! We had a bad updater a couple of months ago. You just need to go to our website and download the host software afresh. Just point your browser to avatron.com/d to download.
    Cheers,

  • How document numbers can be updated in New GL table

    Hi,
We have SAP version ECC 5 and application patch level is 8. While we check balances of GR/IR Clearing A/c through FS10N in period 5 under credit posting which is being differed with FBL3N balances as Rs. 24,284.62.  We have identified 5 document numbers are not updated in New GL table which are FAGLFLEXA and FAGLFLEXT and Rs 24,284.62 is being differed in GL Trial report as S_ALR_87012277. Here Debit and Credit figure is not matching rs. 24,284.62. New GL is  not implemented in our company.
Therefore I would request you to kindly guide me how those 5 document numbers which are missing in new gl table can be updated those two tables are FAGLFLEXA and FAGLFLEXT.
    Best Regards,

If yes goto FS00 and check line item display is selceted are not if not selected ,Select the check box and goto se38 and run RFSEPA01 program and then Then enter that GL account number and Document number 1 to 999999999 and company code and run & then check again fs10n and FBL3n it will match.
