Can the resource utilization of a database USER be monitored?

Hi,
I would like to know that is it possible to get the resource utilization details of a particular user say SCOTT from the database.
I found that querying the view V$RESOURCE_LIMIT gives me the RESOURCE_NAME it's CURRENT_UTILIZATION, MAX_UTILIZATION, INITIAL_ALLOCATION and the LIMIT_VALUE for the database as a whole.
My requirement is to get the specific values for the RESOURCE_NAME for a specific user.

You'd have to query V$SESSTAT for sessions that have not exited yet and DBA_AUDIT_SESSION for sessions that have already exited.
These are at the session level. A Database USER may have one or hundreds of sessions -- it depends on how the application is implemented.

Can the connection to a DB2 database be encrypted?

I'm wanting to connect to a remote DB2 database (i.e. not the database the SAP system is running on) and have the communication encrypted. Thanks to note 200164 I have deployed the DB2 CLI client and configured DBCO. I am now able to make connections to the DB2 database using exec sql statements. What I'm missing is any information on if and how the connection to the DB2 database can be encrypted. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Perhaps if I'd put a colon after 'wanting' it would have been more clear? If you read it as "I'm wanting to connect to a remote DB2 database and I have the communication encrypted" then it doesn't really make sense, so I fail to see the ambiguity.
Anyway, are you saying that the DB2 user can be set to require encryption on the DB2 database server, and that in this case no changes are required on the client side to accomplish encryption? This would be a suitable solution to my problem. I had been lead to believe that encryption must be specified on both the server and client side for it to work.

Can the Portal Activity Report show unique users per page?

Hello all
I guess this is a rather simple question, but can someone tell me if the portal activity report can show a count of unique users per page per week for instance?
Or will it just show which users have visited the page in a list without aggregating them to a number? And if the users are aggregated to a number, is it only uniwue users that are counted for the given period?

Can the business transaction be controlled using user status profile?

Hi All
there is a requirment that in a project there will be 3 stages of approval.
Each stage of approval should allow specific business transaction.
eg. When the project is apporved in 1st stage then only PR's and pln Oders can be raised.
When 2nd stage is approved then PR's can be converted to PO.
When 3rd stage is approved then and Production activity can take place.
I would like know whether user staus profile can be used to control the business transactions? If yes how?
If user status is not possible, can any one help me out?

As per me this scenario can be handled without user status
When the project is apporved in 1st stage then only PR's and pln Oders can be raised.
If ur generating PR/ planned order thru MRP run it is only possible after WBS release.So give the WBS release authorisation to 1 st authority.
When 2nd stage is approved then PR's can be converted to PO.
Put release strategy to PR so that there can be check by autourised person.
When 3rd stage is approved then and Production activity can take place.
Give production order Release authorization to person who is responsible for production planning.
It is not suggestable to look at this scenario for applying user status.

I personally would answer this question with, "Yes & No"
Yes, Dropbox is supported on the iPad as well as Microsoft Documents (when you use third party applications like Quickoffice or iWork), However I have had some issues finding apps that have full support of those documents. For instance, If I want to search something in a PDF document on my iPad for a certain word or phrase. I have not been able to do so yet. Not using the Dropbox application or Quickoffice Pro.
So it depends on what you are doing with your documents. If you are just viewing, sharing and making minor edits to them, Then I don't think you will have any issues, But if you want to go more in depth with your documents, You may have some trouble.

Actually I knew that while configuring Physical Standby
1> Database name should be same
2> Instance name should be different
But,today I saw a DR system where the database name and instance names are the same. So I came to know that it can be done.
I just wanted to know that what are the trade-offs of putting DB name and instance name same?

There isn't a tradeoff. By default, the instance_name is the same as the db_name unless if specified differently in teh pfile. What matters is the service name connecting to the instance.

Can the Macbook Air be used as a display monitor for Xbox 360 ???

Basically I was just wondering if the Macbook Air 11'' can be used a display monitor for the Xbox 360 due to me smashing my TV... Ooops.
I tried with a thunderbolt to HDMI socket and then plugged that into my Xbox with no luck ! If it is possible in some way could you please explain what parts are need and how it would need to be set up.

Creating more than one database user in oracle cloud

I hv created an adf application, in which there are 4 models. each model is connected to different database user, where SID is same for all user. These users have some number of tables, which are used as entity and view in model project in adf application. My query is:
I hv activated oracle cloud service for database and java. i want to deploy my adf application on cloud. so, how can i create more than one database user in cloud as i do in oracle db 11gr2? So that my all models will be connected to different database user in cloud.
Also, which service name should i use in model.jpx? I hv used mydb as service name on my local machine.

Unable to review the resource access information

I am new to portal. I am runing Oracle Portal Version: 10.1.2.3.0 (Build: 263).
I am able to review or edit my resource access information. However, I only see the blank information when I try to modify the other users. Could somebody let me know what privileges I miss? How do I assign the privileges to my portal group?

Logn on as the portal user, I can see the information. Then I grant all the privileges to that particular user (User B). I still do not see the resource information after log as User B.
I have another user account (User A) that belongs to another admin group. If I log on as User A, I can see the resource information. Then I assign this admin group to User B. Log on as User B, I can see the resource information without any problem. I do not find any privileges differences between User B and the admin group.
I can find the basic information related to the particular admin group, user A and user B information in oiddas.
Could you show me what information I should look for? What priivileges I need to set in OIDDAS or in portal?

Resource Utilization Chart issue

Good afternoon,
I have a slight problem that I am unable to resolve and hope you may be able to help.
I have Planned and Production Orders loaded onto a resource, when I check the resource: periodic view in the Production Planning Table, I can see the orders are loading as required.
If I go into the Detailed scheduling board and open up the Resource Utilization Chart, it is blank.
I have double checked the PDS's and the Resource Master data (capacity profile) and all looks OK, I have tried different DS profiles with no luck.
Am I missing something.

RAR Resource Utilization question

I've configured RAR per the various best practice data that I've found from other consultants, and from SAP. However, my BASIS admin says that the RAR risk analysis is hogging resources on our box, and he wants me to "turn that *&^% off".
I've gone through and tried to optimize it, so I was wondering if there were any issues with the resource utilization that I should look into.

As you mentioned above, the relevant configuration shoud be suitable for your server, either JVM, or JCO and RAR .
The other thing you should care is the mode of risk analysis, background or foreground.
If you choose background, you should optimize your job schedule.
This is my experience in the last project.

Do you use Project 2010 or 2013?
Both versions propose
visual reports with a "resource work summary report" Excel template.
Otherwise if you do not need to export the data in Excel but only to vizualize the data, the resource usage view is an excellent way to see the resources utilization on a project.

How owns the resources in a domain

Hi: guys, I am bit confused about who own the resources (datasources, resource adapters, JTA etc) in a domain. Are the resources owned by managed servers? If yes can the resources be shared between two managed servers in a same domain.
My second question is that can we share the same resource between two web application deployed under the same managed server or same domain?

Resources like JDBC datasources or JTA are for the whole domain, so more than only one managed server can use them and in fact you can deploy them to a cluster when you are creating or configuring one of these resources.
Regarding your second question the answer is yes. You can share the same resource between two web application deployed under the same managed server cluster, single managed server or same domain.
