Can the X201 support 8 GB of RAM?

I believe the official word is that it supports 4 GB of RAM, but it seems from reading various posts that people have gotten higher...can I jam 8 gigs in this sucker and have it register as usuable RAM on Win7 64-bit Enterprise?

Yes, it should support 8 GB of DDR3 1066-1333 MHz SoDIMM RAM at the standard voltage of 1.5V.

  • Does the Neo2 support DDR2 4200 533MHz Ram?

Not holding my breath but does the Neo 2 Platinum NF3 support DDR2 4200 533MHz Dual Channel Geil ram? (2x1gig).
It only saysd DDr400 in the manual so I'm assuming it won't run it? (Its a matched pair as well I'm looking at buying).
     Any help welcome:)

Your motherboard does not support ddr2 memory which uses a different socket.
Agreed. In addition: none of the current Athlon 64 CPUs is actually supporting DDR2 (memory controller is built in CPU, remember?). You will have to wait for the new CPUs (socket AM2) which will be available in June 2006.

  • Can the ApplicationModule support global Transaction for multi db instance?

    purpose:
I want to update data in two db instance .
    pre-conditions:
I create two application module , in the two application modules ,one is root application module. one application module connect one db instance, the other application module connect to the other db instance. The two application modules include entity objects and view objects which map the tables in the two db instance.
In the jsp page , I bind two view objects , one view is owned by root application module ,the other view object is owned by child application module and the two view objects map the two tables which are in different db instance .the view objects binding style in the jsp page is input-form.
    The result:
while the input-form is submitted ,the error occurs. The global transaction isn't committed, why?

A nested application module instance uses the transaction/connection of its parent.
The simplest way to accomplish what you're trying to do is to use Oracle database DBLinks so that the two-phase commit is handled at the database level.
ADFBC does not support two-phase commit at the application level between two separate root application module's transactions.

  • Can the mini support 16x9 ratio?

    ok simple question this one:
I want to use a mac mini as a home theater with my 16x9 plasma screen,
all of my standard macs will produce a 16x10 aspect ratio without any problem,
1920x1200, 1440x900 etc, but with the mac mini do you get an option to display a true 16x9 output?
for instance if I connect my powerbook to my plasma at 1440x900 I either lose the top apple menu and the dock or I have to distort the image to see the whole mac screen, not great!
something like 1440x810 would be optimum (I connect via a standard analogue sVGA connector)
any info would be great, cheers

If you aren't seeing 16:9 options from the PowerBook, you probably aren't going to see them from the mini, either. Whether or not OS X serves up 16:9 as an option is entirely up to the display and the driver data it contains. It sounds like your TV may have shortcomings in this respect.
Often the situation can be rectified using a program like SwitchRes X. If you are serious about getting a mini, you should first download and install SRX on your PowerBook and see if you can get 16:9 to work. If it works with the PowerBook, it will work with the mini.

Please let me know if you have heard of doing this
    Thanks,

    Dave,
As per my knowledge the ASA does not support this. Uless we have a natting device before the ASA redirecting some ther port to port 22 of the ASA.
    Hope this helps.

Yes. sabretooth is right. It's around 32 connections. You might need to perform a hard reset on your router then reconfigure it back manually.

  • Can the iMac G5 supports TWO USB 7-port Hubs??

Hi all, call me greedy but belive it or not, I am running out of USB ports!!
I have a Belkin 7-port USB 2.0 Powered Hub (with 2 ports pointing upbright) which serves me very well, but I am running out of ports, now that I am considering getting the new iPod nano.
Anyway, there are 3 ports behind the screen, now I have my Mighty Mouse, the Hub's USB cable and a HK Soundsticks attached.
I am thinking of getting another similar 7-port Hub, they are actually stackable, but of course I won't use all 7 ports fully on the 2nd new one.
Can the iMac supports and substain 2 USB hubs?? I have actually never seen anyone with more than 1 hub??
    Thanks and cheers

I have two USB hubs attached to my iMac G5 - they are both self-powered (their own power supply); one is a USB 2 with 6 ports and a multi card reader built in and the other my old USB 1 with 4 ports. They are plugged into the rear of my iMac along with the printer. Everything else, including keyboard and mouse, are plugged into the hubs and I am using a total of 8 ports - and everything works. I don't know if that would change if they weren't self powered.
    Hope this helps.

  • Does T61p Support 8 Gig of RAM?

Does the T61p support 8 gig of RAM for running Wndows 2008 64 bit operating systems? I've been told it does but the memory manufacturers (e.g. Crucial) states it supports 4 Gig max.
If it does support 8 Gig - does it have 2 memory slots (e.g. you can use two 4 Gig chips) or does it require a special 8 Gig chip? Where do I find such?
    Thanks much

I can remember when the T60 first came out, the only source for 2GB sticks was IBM parts sales. One guy I knew working was as a free lancer on a project with a load of IBMers, he was the only person who didn't have 3GB RAM. His high end T60p had cost him €3000 and a 2GB stick would have cost him €1030.  As you could buy them on the "open market" original Lenovo sticks had a price of €630, today they cost €100.
That's inside two years, wait a while, they'll get cheaper
    Edit: Typo

  • Will the TC support XBOX Live?

I am looking into purchasing the Time Capsule, but am curious if I will have to keep my existing router in order to support XBOX Live. Endstate I will have the IMac, (2) I Phones, (2) I-Pads, (2) XBOX's- WIFI, and a Wireless Printer. Can the TC support them all with a direct connection to my modem without using an additional router? Thanks for the help.

Xbox depends on upnp which is not used by Apple in the TC. You can manually port forward the required ports.. but you will have issues with 2xXbox.. if you want both to work on internet at the same time.. this requires a router that is vista upnp compatible as the ports cannot be used twice (ie you cannot forward the same port to two different IP addresses). upnp is designed to sort that out, but even then many routers do not work properly.
So as Bob suggested you may be forced to use the TC in bridge and keep using your existing router. Or even purchase a different modem/router to allow for full xbox access. This should be sorted out by IPv6 btw, when all the devices on the network can get a fully networked address instead of hidden behind a NAT.

  • How much RAM can my computer support?

This computer has four memory slots but I don't want to buy memory that I don't need. Also I am currently running SDRAM-PC133-333, but most sites say that this model computer should run PC120, or 100, or something like that..........will I be ok running the PC133-333? Another question: my internal hard drive only has 20GB and I want to be able to run Logic Pro 8 smoothly what sort of hard drive upgrade should I go with?

    smida7, welcome to Apple Discussions.
Since you mentioned PC100 RAM, you probably have an older Mac. Look at these G4 specs & tell us which one you have. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/index-powermac-g4.html The older Macs came with PC100 (100MHz) RAM, but you can install PC133 RAM because it's backward compatible. That is, PC133 RAM will operate at PC100 speed. Your Mac can probably use up to 2GB of RAM (4 each 512MB modules) while booted in OS X, however, only 1.5GB may be recognized while booting MacOS 9.
On your hard drive question, look at these links.

Possible Alternative 2 - Larger than 128GB drives can be used by adding a PCI ATA/100 or ATA/133 controller card, one which is 48-bit LBA compliant; or by adding a PCI SATA controller card and using SATA drives.
If you install an external firewire HD, you are not limited in size.

  • How much ram can my MBP support?

First of all, there are two slots for RAM in a MBP, right?
Is there a limit to how much each can support, and a total limit for both?
I just discovered an article on DIGG about 8 GB sticks of RAM, and it got me thinking.

The actual amount of RAM depends on the specific model, since you don't mention that, it's impossible to tell.
However, I can tell you that currently the most any MacBook Pro supports is 4GB of RAM - two 2GB DIMMs.
I don't know the Digg article you're referring to, but it's highly unlikely that it's referring to laptop memory. It's likely to be full-sized DIMMs where space and power consumption are less important factors (all laptops use low-profile DIMMs which consume less power and take up less space than DIMMs used in desktop computers).

I am upgrading from Tiger to SL in a MCBPro with 2 gb ram and an intel chip and I get the following notice:  Installation failed.... THE INSTALLER COULD NOT COPY THE NCESSARY SUPPORT FILES. Any help is appreciated...

Yes.   I've found that works best.  Especially if the drive is external, since external connections are typically slower, and Spotlight loves to eat up space going back and forth.   Time Machine will eat up as much space as it can, and typically needs drives at least twice the size of the original hard drive that is being backed up, if being backed up in full.   So unfortunately there is a lot of empty space that is needed for smooth operation.
