Can we implement Tabview functinality in iPhone?

Question

Hello everybody,
I want to implement tabView functionality(like in cocoa development) in iPhone. I am using UISegmentedController for that but I think it is not providing us TabView type functionality because regardless of the tab selection our is remaining constant.
Is anyone know, is it possible in iPhone or not? and if yes then which control should I use?

There's no single control for this. I'd suggest that you create a UIView for each pane, then create a container UIView with the segmented control and a placeholder UIView. In your viewDidLoad method, replace the placeholder with the default pane; connect an action to the segmented control that loads the appropriate pane when the segmented control's selection changes.
If you want to be fancy, you could make each of the panes be a different view controller. This would take more code, but it'd let you load the panes into memory as you needed them, and you could keep the logic for the individual panes separate.
For that matter, if you kept the panes' view controllers in an array and dynamically set up the segmented control with the controller array, you could create a generic SegmentedViewController class that you could reuse in other projects.
...but that SegmentedViewController sounds a lot like a UITabBarController, doesn't it? Sure, it uses a different UI element, but it pretty much does the same thing. Maybe you should consider using a tab bar instead of a segmented control; that would allow you to use the built-in class, which is well-tested, easy to set up, and has a lot of smarts.
