Can we run 2 sqls in same report??

Hi All,
Can any one help me with this issue of .....
Can we run two independent SQL statements in a single Report.
Example
Select * from Dept;(As First Query).
Select * from emp; (As Second Query).
And can i have Grouping options in individual Queries above.
Thanks in advance.....

A report (.rdf) file can have multiple SQL queries. Each of these independant SQL queries can be on their own layout in any of the three Sections.
If you want to have only one layout from the two SQL queries, then you will need to join the two queries (assuming that there is a relationship between the two queries).
Each of these two queries can be grouped also.
Regards,
John

  • How to restrict the EBS end users to run only two same reports at a time?

Is it possible to restrict the end business users to run only two same reports at a time?
    Thanks.

Is it possible to restrict the end business users to run only two same reports at a time?It is not possible.
You can either make the report "incompatible" to itself (this means only one user in your company can run it at a time)
Or not make it incompatible. (That means any user can run it any number of times)
Incompatibility is a way of specifying which requests cannot be run under which circumstances.
    See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/A60725_05/html/comnls/us/fnd/incomp.htm
You can use Hussain's suggestion to use Concurrent: Active Request Limit profile. You can set this profile value at each user level. But if you decide to set it at global level, remember to keep it a higher value for sysadmin kind of users that run scheduled jobs.
    Hope this helps,

  • How many threads can be running at the same time

    Hi!!
Dows anyone knows how many Threads can be running at the same time in the JVM.
I'm making a multi thread client-server app and I would like to know how much simultneous connections the JVM support. I'm using one Thread per connection.

Hi, thanks to all for your answers.
I think that I made the wrong question, as you said: "that means the number of threads currently created".
I'm worry about this because my application is already online (It's a mail server -SMTP and POP3 server using ORACLE for the users database- ) and some other user post in the "multi-tread forum" that almost any JVM can only have 700 threads created at the same time, and I've never heard or read anything about this.
what you mean with the stack space (memory??)
I'm using the JavaWebServer 2.0 and a servlet to start the main Thread.
Again Thanks to all for the answers but I think that the schapel answer is the one that solve my doubt...

  • Can we run SYSAUD and DDDAUD reports from AppDesigner? If yes, how to?

Can we run SYSAUD and DDDAUD reports from AppDesigner? If yes, how to?

No, you cannot run any program from AppDesigner. This is a development tool.
However, without the front end application, you could be able to run programs through the commands lines (PSSQR/PSAE...)

  • Can you run SQL in the portal and create a drop down list??

Can anyone tell me if its possible to create a drop down list using sql in the portal?
Can I create a drop down list of items via sql and then have those same values be used for a discoverer portlet? I am trying to replicate the same concept using parameter values and discoverer worksheets, but through sql. I dont want to have to cut and past lists on the parameter fields. I want to be able to run sql when I post a discoverer worksheet with a parameter and have the values from the sql pass into the worksheet.
    Is that possible???

I created a lov but i cannot post it on my portlet. When i go to post a portlet, under the db_link, portlet reposistory it does not show.? Also, how do make the connection to the discoverer worsheets to this lov?
    thanks,

  • How many iPhones & iPads can I run from the same Apple ID

My family now have 2 iPhones 2 iPads & an iTouch - I only have 1 apple ID and up until now have linked all the devices to this ID but now the iMessage & Facetime are all linked together so when I text my wife it also comes up in my sons iPad mini & all the other devices. Can I run more than 1 device from the same Apple ID?

Obviously you can. I don't think that's what you meant to ask... Would you care to clarify?
The maximum number of iDevices that can use a single Apple ID is 10, by the way.

  • Can't run SQL files

I have a Windows XP system and I'm running Sql Developer version 1.0.0.15.
I open a sql file in Oracle Developer and choose Run SQLFile.sql from the Run menu and it gives and error that it can't be started because it isn't a runnable target. However, if I just copy out the text and paste it into a worksheet it runs fine.
Why can't you run SQL when it is opened from a file?

You need to associate it with a connection.
There is drop down list of connections at the top right of each sql window. Pick a connection from there and the run action should be enabled.

    Hi 918900,
    This is possible.
Set the column in the interactive report as link to page 0 with the report name in the request field

  • SqlNet 2.3.4 & Net8 - how can they run on the same PC?

I have an application that requires SQL-Net 2.3.4 and I have another application that requires Net8. I have installed Net8 into the same folder as SQLNet was installed - per instructions in the Oracle8 Users guide, Chapter 4. The application that runs the Net8 works fine, but the application that run SQLNet works except for when it tries to use the "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" driver. Then I get an error "Error in Vantive Connect Timer Routine 3151 ODBC - connection to "Vantive_Reports' failed." Does any one out there run both Net8 & SQLNET on the same machines? Do you have any hints on how to make it work?

Gloria, the best thing to do in this instance is open a TAR on Metalink and someone will get back to you. If you need assistance with opening an iTAR, let me know.
    Thanks!

  • How can I run graphic object on report. ( I got REP-1246 Chart not found)

    Hi All,
I made a report that consists a chart object. When I run it on report builder, it works well. But When I call the report from client side, I got "Rep-1246 Char Document not found" . I tried to solve it , I couldn't solve the problem . If I delete chart object from report , then report works well on client side. I didn't use graphics builder to create graphs I used only report builder to do it. I read the threads about it , but I couldn't find the solution. All solutions are about path of graphic file. I don't understand it. Because I only have *.rdf *.rep file. There is no any graph file in my system. I can create it in graphic builder but I don't know how can I deploy the graph object into report layout and run ?
    I need urgent help ..
    Thanks in advice
    Suleyman

Hi again , I used developer 2000. In order to show graphic object on report firstly
I created my graphic object on oracle graph builder. After that I save it like mygraph.OGD . Then I added graphic object on report builder by using graphic object on report builder. When you click the graphic object you will see CHART FILENAME part in part of CHART. In this field , you should add graphic file path that you created on graphic builder. I added mygraph.OGD into this filename part. I worked well.
    Good LUck !

  • Can we run SQL query on a XML file?

    Hi All
I have an XML document which stores data of a table.
My requirement is to retreive data from this XML document by firing SQL
    query.
i.e "SELECT * FROM EMP" should give me the data from the EMP.XML file
whose name is the table name.
Does Oracle provide this feature to retreive data from an XML document
by issuing the same SQL statement that is used in Database?
Any pointer for this requirement is highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance..

  • How can I use SQL TOOLKIT concurrently with Database Connectivity ?

I have installed LabVIEW 6.1 with the Database Connectivity Toolkit and the SQL Compatibility Toolkit (e.g. _SQL folder). I am trying to make the transition from the SQL Toolkit VIs to the Database Connectivity toolkits, but for compatability with existing systems I would like to be able to run the two sets of VIs concurrently (but not in the same app).
When I read into 6.1 a connection VI that I wrote with LabVIEW 6.0 and the SQL toolkit the connection reference type gets changed from a number to type connection (see attachments) . Does compatbility mean that my SQL toolkit VIs are converted to a form compatible with the new ADO ?
Can I use the SQL Toolkit VIs or the Database connectivit
y VIs in the same installation of 6.1 ?
Can I have the SQL Toolkit VIs appear on the functions pallette and function as they did when only the SQL toolkit was installed ?

In response to your #2 below:
Actually it is possible to have the old SQL Toolkit and new Database
connectivity in the same installation of LabVIEW. I have only tried it on
6i, but don't see why it wouldn't work on 6.1. The trick is not to install
the SQL toolkit compatabitily VI's. The old SQL toolkit uses the Intersolve
dll through ODBC while the new Database connectivity uses ADO so it is
possible to use both methods not only in the same LabVIEW install, but it
the same running application. It has been a while since I originally did
this, so I am posting only to mention that it is possible and not exactly
how to do it. If anyone is interested in more details just respond.
