Can we show 2 queries in a single query ?
Hi experts,
We require an output of a bex query.
But the output is coming in two different queries.
Is it possible to show two queries in a single query ?
Regards,
Nishuv.
Hi Praveen,
We are using bex 3.x. I opened a workbook. in the view toolbar->Toolbars->Control Toolbox.
I clicked on this. A tool box came in the right side of the sheet.
The options which we got here are:
Exit Design mode
Properties
View code
Check box
Text box
Command button
Option button
List box
Combo box
Toogle button spin button
Scrool bar
Label
Image
More controls
Tool bar options.
Here i am not able to see the Analysis grid.
Is there anything more to be done to get this ?
Regards,
Nishuv.

'dbms_xplan.display_awr' is showing two plan for single query

Can I do this with a single query?
I have table A like
Table A
node_id node_no
N1......01
N2......02
N3......03
N4......04

Using Table A, I need to populate the Table B having relationship like
Table B
link_id pred_node_id succ_node_id
L1..... N1...........N2
L2..... N2...........N3
L3..... N3...........N4
L4..... N4...........N5
There is a sequencial link between the nodes. We need to arrange the nodes ordered by their node_no so that the sequencial like for nodeds would be 01,02,03,04,05,.... Between each pair of ordered nodes, a link is to be created i.e.
a Link L1 links node N1 (pred_node) and N2 (succ_node),...
Do I have any ways so that I can populate the table B with a single insert...select statement?SQL> create table tablea

Combine 2 Queries (from SAME table) into a SINGLE query
I have this two queries (from SAME table), and want to combine into one SINGLE query, how?
How can we use CASE WHEN THEN for such situation?

Single report with multiple queries OR multiple reports with single query
Hello Experts,
I have a confusion regarding Live Office connection for many days. I asked many people but did not get a concrete answer. I am re-posting this question here and expecting an answer this time.
The product versions that I am using are as follows:
FrontEnd:
BOE XI 3.1 SP4 FP 4.1
Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP4
Backend:
SAP BW 7.0 EHP1
I have created a dashboard which is getting data from a webi report using LO connections.
The webi report has five report parts which are populated by five different queries.
Now my question is, when the five LO connections are refreshed, is the webi report refreshed five times or just once?
If the report is refreshed five times, then I guess it is better to have five different webi reports containing single report part, because in that way we can prevent same query being executed multiple times.
SO what is the best practice- to have a single report having multiple queries - OR - to create multiple webi reports with single query?
Thanks and Regards,
PASGHI
I think Best Practice is Multiple reports with single query
Any way If LO connections refresh 5 time the query will refresh 5 timesRegards

How can i fetch records from 3 tables in a single query without using join
Hi.
Can any body please tell me <b>How can i fetch records from 3 tables with a single query without using joins</b>
Thanx
prabhuduttaHi Prabgudutta,
We can fetch the data by using the views concept.
Go throuth this info we can know the how to create view and same like database table only we can fetch the data.
Views conatin the data at runtime only.
Four different view types are supported. These differ in the
way in which the view is implemented and in the methods
permitted for accessing the view data.
Database views are implemented with an equivalent view on
the database.
Projection views are used to hide fields of a table (only
projection).
Help views can be used as selection method in search helps.
Maintenance views permit you to maintain the data
distributed
on several tables for one application object at one time.
step by step creation of Maintenance view:
With the help of the table maintenance generator, you are able to maintain the ENTRIES of the table in SM30 transaction.
It can be set in transaction SE11 - Tools - Table maintenance generator.
Table maintanance Generator is used to manually input values using transaction sm30
follow below steps
1) go to se11 check table maintanance check box under attributes tab
2) utilities-table maintanance Generator-> create function group and assign it under
function group input box. Also assign authorization group default &NC& .
3) select standard recording routine radio in table table mainitainence generator to move table
contents to quality and production by assigning it to request.
4) select maintaience type as single step.
5) maintainence screen as system generated numbers this dialog box appears when you click on create button
6) save and activate table
One step, two step in Table Maintenance Generator
Single step: Only overview screen is created i.e. the Table Maintenance Program will have only one screen where you can add, delete or edit records.
Two step: Two screens namely the overview screen and Single screen are created. The user can see the key fields in the first screen and can further go on to edit further details.
SM30 is used for table maintenance(addition or deletion of records),
For all the tables in SE11 for which Table maintenance is selected , they can be maintained in SM30
Sm30 is used to maintain the table ,i.e to delete ,insert or modify the field values and all..
It creates the maintenance screen for u for the aprticular table as the maintenance is not allowed for the table..
In the SE11 delivery and maintenance tab, keep the maintenance allowed..
Then come to the SM30 and then enter the table name and press maintain..,
Give the authorization group if necessary and give the function group and then select maintenance type as one step and give the screen numbers as system specified..
Then create,,,
Then u will able to see the maintenance view for the table in which u can able to insert and delete the table values...
We use SM30 transaction for entering values into any DB table.
First we create a table in SE11 and create the table maintenance generator for that Table using (utilities-> table maintenance generator) and create it.
Then it will create a View.
After that from SM30, enter the table name and Maintain, create new entries, change the existing entries for that table.
Hope this resolves your query.
Reward all the helpful answers.

You can get the details information about all the fields of the OITM table
by doing the following step :-
1. Open the Query Manager in the SAP Business One Application.
2. Select the Table OITM
Then you will get all the details information about the fields available in OITM table with

Can Business Object Access Queries from the BI query designer?
Hi Gurus,
I've started working with BOBJ and honestly I'm not impressed with it's functionalities, specially with the report layouts (SO many limitations!!). Anyway I was wondering if Business Objects can access BI Queries in the Query Designer since I can do most of the manupilation in Query Designer that I need. Thank You in advance and any help will be most certainly appreciated.
- KitHello KIT,
Also, look at the below Blog for xcelsius where he directly consumes the BEx query the QUERY_VIEW_DATA Web service out of the BW system. This is one way to approach the BEx query:

can I show an iPhone album in spread format (instead of single page), can I show an iPhone album in spread format (instead of single page)
Christine
The ! shows up because the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window has lost the connection to the file it represents. There are two main reasons why this occurs: database coruption and/or User Activity in the iPhoto Library Folder - in this case your Party Library.
1. Hold down the abbpe and option keys and launch iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild the database.
2. Have you renamed, altered or moved anything in the Party Library Folder?
As for the mulitple versions of photos: Your Party Library (or any Library) is arranged as follows:
In this folder there are various files, which are the Library itself and some ancillary files. Then you have three folders
Originals are the photos as they were downloaded from your camera or scanner.
(ii) Modified contains edited pics, shots that you have cropped, rotated or changed in any way.
This allows the Photos -> Revert to Original command - very useful if you don't like the changes you've made.
(iii) Data holds the thumbnails the the app needs to show you the photos in the iPhoto Window.
So each version of the Image has a distinct role to play. To distinguish them in a Spotlight search, use file size - the tiny ones are your thumbnails etc.
Your Camera names the files. Some Cameras have a setting which allows them to sequentially number across cards. You can also use titling in the iPhoto Window to distinguish them (Photos -> Batch Change) and some people copy the pics onto their machines first, rename them with a batch renamer and then import them into iPhoto.
The book is simply a virtual album of photos and is part of the library6.iPhoto file.
As to your plan of moving and patching things up... It is strongly advised that you do not move, change or in anyway alter things in the iPhoto Library Folder as this can cause the application to fail and even lead to data loss. SO try rebuild the database first.

How can I get the same result using single query?
There are 3 tables
1) tool_desc -
a master table for storing tool records,
columns tool_no, tool_chg,
# of records = 1.5 Millon
2) step_desc -
a master table for storing plan wise step records,
columns plan_id, step_key,
# of records = 3700 Million
3) step_tool - a transaction table storing tools to the steps,
columns plan_id, step_key, tool_no, tool_chg
For each step in the step_desc table, I need to randomly fetch 1 to 50 tools from tool_desc and insert them into step_tool table.
Using PL/SQL block, it is like the following -
begin
for x in (select plan_id, step_key from step_desc) loop
insert into step_tool(
plan_id,
step_key,
tool_no,
tool_chg)
select
plan_id,
x.step_key,
tool_no,
tool_chg
from
tool sample(0.1)
where
rownum <= trunc(dbms_random.value(1,51))
commit;
end loop;
end;
I need to do the same using a single query so that I can use the CTAS (create table as select) statement and load the data as a bulk.
Can I do that?If they have parent child releation, you can use connect by prior clause,
