It is hard to nudge the regions with the mouse. I don't see a keyboard shortcut.

With regards to the question above does anyone know another way to lock the screen orientation without the use of the control centre (e.g. like the old way of double clicking the home button). The reason being is that I have a case that fits the screen perfectly so my fingers cannot get to the bottom of the screen to access the control centre. Many thanks in advance

According to page 23 of the user manual http://support.apple.com/manuals/ the only way to change the orientation is with the control enter

Can you still use soft motion without the scan engine on crio?

Where are the trajectory generator property and invoke nodes in softmotion for LV 2011?
These functions are not longer found in the pallet? Are they no longer supported?
All the new soft motion examples are using the scan engine. Can I use soft motion without the scan engine????

Hi Ian,
I apologize that this wasn't stated in the release notes. While your code should have upgraded without breaking, the release documentation should have mentioned that the advanced trajectory genertor functionality is no longer supported. If you still want to use the trajectory generator functions, they are still shipped with SoftMotion, they are just not on the palette. I have attached a zip file that has 4 .mnu files that will get them on the palette. To install these, do the following:
Close LabVIEW
Make a copy of the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\menus\Categories\VisionMotion\_nism. In case something goes wrong, we will want to have a copy of this directory so that we can replace it.
Copy the 4 .mnu files from the attachement into the above _nism directory (the original, not the copy). If it asks you to replace any of the exisiting files, please do. You don't have to copy the readonly.txt file.
Start LabVIEW. You should know have the trajectory generator functions in your SoftMotion Advanced palette.
Keep in mind that we no longer support these functions. This means that they are not tested in new releases and any bugs will likely not get fixed.
I would recommend that you use the new API for any new designs. You can still get most of the functionality of the old API but without the complexity. If you want to generate setpoints at 5ms then you will run the scan engine at 5ms. This is certainly easier than having to do the timing yourself, but it does take away some control from the user. If you give me a brief overview of what you mean by synchronization, I will let you know the best way to do it with the new API.

I know the old iPhones and iPods did not have an oleophobic coating on the screen. Alas, now all of their products have an oleophobic coating, which I am allergic to! I need to get a new phone and was hoping to switch to a smartphone, but yeah. Does anyone know if there is a way to special order a phone without the oleophobic coating?

Can you use a MacBook Pro without the keyboard attached?

Hi,
I plan to upgrade the hard drive in my MacBook Pro (MBP) to a solid state drive (SSD). I also plan to remove the SuperDrive in the optical bay.
I have to install a new firmware on the SSD. Installing the firmware requires the SuperDrive.
I intend to remove the SuperDrive after installing the firmware. I'm using a Early 2008 MBP (Pre-Unibody). This MBP is a difficult to dismantle and assemble.
Can I run the MBP (to install the firmware in FreeDOS) without reattaching the top panel (which houses the keyboard). Or can I just lay the top panel on the MBP without screwing it down. Will either of these actions damage my MBP? Once I've installed the firmware on the MBP, I'll reattach the keyboard.
I don't want to dismantle the MBP (to insert the SSD), assemble the MBP (to install the firmware with the CD in the SuperDrive) then disassemble the MBP again (to remove the SuperDrive).
I'd rather dismantle and assemble the MBP once.

I am unaware if the power button is dedicated. Seems like you're on the right track with iFixIt. I figure as long as USB is available, it should be okay.

I have just recieved my iPhone 4 and it has not yet been activated. I tried to activate it but it just says 'Activation Failed' and to put in the original sim card, which i dont have. It said when i bought the phone it was unlocked and i have tried to put in an 02 sim, but it needs an orange one which i dont have. Doesn't sound like your phone was unlocked.
To activate, a SIM card from the carrier to which the phone is locked is required. There's no way around this.

Hi, got an imac at Xmas, am looking into Airport stuff, and found this APex, with wireless play of iTunes music, Ive been looking into the Philips streamium and stuff doe playing tunes.
My question is once setup from your iMac to play music wirelessly how can you control it? Ive read the manual but doesnt say anything. So can all you do is press shuffle on the iMac and then it plays everything?
I know you could do playlists and stuff, but I have all my music, kids music, wife's music in my library, so theres a real mixture, and Im sick of listening to High School Musical!!

iTunes needs to be running in order to stream music to the Airport Express so therefore - no - the Mac running iTunes cannot be in sleep mode. It must be powered up and running, though you could blank the screen if you wish.
Why did Apple not build the function of the Keyspan Express remote into the Airport Express. Unfortunatly with movies in the iCloud it physically gets downloaded to your device. I am thinking some of the reasons for this is because of possible changes in bandwidth speed on 3G or 4G networks well as coverage for those networks. Nothing would be worse when watching a movie that I am streaming I the car and I loose cellular coverage. The good news is with it downloading when you are done watching it, delete it and download another one.

If you want to watch on a television screen, you need an AppleTV.
In both cases...
If the movies are purchased, there is no need for an Internet connection to the outside world. If they're rented, you need an Internet connection for the first minute or so that Apple knows that you're watching the movie. I do not know if a rented movie can be stopped and restarted without an Internet connection.
