Cancel A Selected task in ServiceManger

Cancel A Selected task in ServiceManger
How can I cancel only a single task without affecting the other tasks in the delivery plan ?
The following will allow you to cancel any tasks having a supervisor, without affecting the remaining tasks in the Plan.
1. Assign a supervisor for any plan task you may want to cancel. Do this in the Plan tab/Participants sub-tab.
Assign the supervisor from any of the 3 methods - Person/Queue, Position, or Expression.
2. In Site Administration, set to ON the Configuration Tab setting for Allow Task Supervisors To Cancel Tasks.

you could develop a subclass of Timer that stores a list of all scheduled TimerTask instances. Then retrieve the instance that you want to cancel:
TimerTask [] tasks = timer.getScheduledTasks();
tasks[0].cancel();
.... you would have to make sure it works (that the TimerTask is actually canceled and not executed), but the code would be easy- just over-ride each schedule method so that it adds the current TimerTask argument to the list of all tasks... .... I would imagine that sun has a reason for not providing that functionality. They may want to avoid security concerns about having a separate Object cancel tasks- or perhaps the reason has some thing to do with how the tasks are schedule on the machine.... ... you might be able to find an answer in the source code of Timer or TimerTask (src.jar in your SDK folder).

  • Cancelling a Approval Task using Designer 2010

    I created an Approval Workflow using Designer 2010. The workflow sends out notifications emails to approvers. But what if I want to cancel the approval task after the email has been sent out. I mean I don't want user to be able to approve the List Item.
    Is there something I can change in the Designer 2010 code to make that happen. Thanks so much!

    Hi Kapil,
    Thanks so much for your response. I have a document library and it has a column called CE Status.
    When a task is assigned, the CE Status becomes "Media Relations in Progress" for instance. That is one of the stages. There is a group called Media Relations that will receive an email to approve. Once approved, the logic in my code changes the
    CE Status. It goes to next stage and sends out an notification email to the next group.
    I want to create a separate workflow that will cancel any pending task. So some selected user should be able to cancel the task. In that event, the assignee (Media Relations for instance) should not be able to approve the document via the email they originally
    received.

  • What are the differences between Turn in Final Timesheet and the other option: Send Progress for Selected Tasks?

    Hello,
    The resource filled his/her timesheet in PWA.
    Now :
    What are the differences between Turn in Final Timesheet
    and the other option: Send Progress for Selected Tasks?
    Thanks

    You are partially correct and partially wrong.
    Turn
    in Final Timesheet sends
    the timesheet to the Timesheet Manager for Approval
    but task update always goes to Status manger of the task. Taks manager you can see in MPP(insert status manager field then check)
    Yes
    after approval progress will be available in MPP as well as in Projectweb app as % complete .
    Send
    Progress for Selected Tasks
    Send progress of selected task to status manager after approval update will be available in both MPP and Projectweb
    app as % complete.
    In Send
    Progress for Selected Tasks Timesheet
    Manager doesn't receive anything in his Approval center
    because all the update directly go to Status manager Approval center.
    Here you have to understand
    that there are two role Timesheet Manager(for timesheet approval) and Status manager(for task
    actual approval)

    I have read all the data online. I have gone through each of the library/microsoft/windows and removed from the extra items from the C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows folders that didn't match up. I continue to get errors. Can you help? I have

    Hi,
    To avoid confusion, let’s focus on the same thread as Forest brook suggested.

  • UWL - adding "Forward" to selected tasks

    Hi guys,
    Is it possible within UWL config files, to configure the "Forward" to appear only for selected tasks? I thought this would be a global setting i.e.  it would appear on ALL tasks or none. THus, I wanted to find out if it is possible only for specific tasks.
    Thanks,
    Zhenmin

    Hi Aanchal,
    i have posted exactly the same problem a few months ago, and no one answered me.
    I couldn't find any documentation on how to add custom GP parameters in the universal worklist, in the examples on customizing the UWL XML they always refer to parameters from the r/3 webflow, never GP.
    I really can't believe that nobody ever tried to do this and faced this problem!
    Please let me know if you find something..
    Regards,
    Marco.

  • OIM 10g : SQL Script to Delete or Cancel process instance tasks for user resources

    Hello,
    I have users with a resource with a process instance that have a large number (1000) of task instance related to reconciliations (Reconciliation Update Received).
    And when trying to revoke this resource, OIM take a long time to perfom this job, it is due to the fact that all this taks are canceled one by one...
    My question is : I want to perform manualy using a script this cancel of all this tasks, or maybe better, delete all this tasks when there'are too many, can someone provide me this sql scripts.
    Thanks in advance.

    I'm running this script into an adapter with the following code :
    public boolean clearTaskInstances(String user_key, String process_name, String task_name) throws OIMException {
      $logger.debug("Utils.clearTaskInstances() : Inside deleting task instances debug 1");
      tcDataProvider provider = getOIMConnection().getDataBase();
      $logger.debug("Utils.clearTaskInstances() : Inside deleting task instances debug 2");
    String query = "DELETE FROM OSI WHERE OSI.MIL_KEY=" +
      "(SELECT MIL.MIL_KEY FROM MIL WHERE MIL.TOS_KEY=" +
      "(SELECT TOS_KEY FROM TOS LEFT JOIN PKG ON PKG.PKG_KEY=TOS.PKG_KEY WHERE PKG.PKG_NAME=" +
      "'" + process_name + "') AND MIL.MIL_NAME='" + task_name + "'" +
      "AND OSI.ORC_KEY IN (SELECT ORC.ORC_KEY FROM ORC WHERE ORC.USR_KEY='" + user_key +"'))";
      $logger.debug("Utils/clearTaskInstance : Delete Query = " + query);
      PreparedStatementUtil preparedStatement = new PreparedStatementUtil();
       preparedStatement.setStatement(provider, query);
       try {
       preparedStatement.executeUpdate();
      $logger.debug("Utils/clearTaskInstance : Delete Query executed");
      return true;
      } catch (Exception e) {
      $logger.error("Utils/clearTaskInstance : Error while executing Delete Query : " + e);
      return false;
    , but this generate 18M of SQL error logs !!
    The same SQL request in SQL Dev works fine, the same code with OIM 11gR2 works fine too, the problem seems to be only with OIM 9.1.
    The first lines in the logs are :

  • Close excel programmatically after user cancels file selection

    Greetings all. I apologize but I incorrectly posted this question on the wrong board originally so am posting it again here. I have a VI that I wrote with some help from this site that reads in as many user selected Flat Data Files as desired into Excel. The VI opens Excel, places each Flat Data File on one row and ends, allowing the user to manipulate the Excel data as desired. I have tested it without problems with up to 100 files at a time. The VI minimizes Excel at startup so that it will not block the Select File(s) dialogue. MY problem is this: If the user cancels the file selection, it returns an error and leaves Excel open. I understand how to handle the error, but have been unable to make Excel close automatically if the action is canceled. I have tried to invoke the Close without saving node with no luck... probably because I don't understand how to apply it. Ideally, I want to take the error number to a case statement, and if it is anything other than zero (0), meaning no error, I want Excel to close down. This will eventually be an executable so I need to make this right. Can anybody help? I have attached a zip file with the VI's and some sample Flat Data Files.
    Thanks

    If you want anything to run after an error you must clear the error status boolean from the error cluster. To do this use the bundle by name and set the status value to FALSE, take this output cluster into the function you wish to run.

  • SQL Developer Locking up/Unable to Cancel long Running tasks

    I have had the same problem with a number of versions of SQL Developer (and version 3.2.09). It occurs when trying to cancel a long-running PL-SQL Function or procedure that has been started by 'Run' in SQL Developer.
    Select Terminate in Run Manager does not stop the job. Nor does trying to exit SQLDeveloper; it asks whether I want to kill the job; then doesn't kill it and doesn't exit either.
    Trying to save modifications to anything the process depends on results in SQL Developer locking for ~20 minutes.
    I have to resort to getting a DBA to manually kill the process at the server.
    Is there any possiblity of a workaround or a way of making the PL/SQL not lock so it can be terminated please?
    Thanks

  • Cancel Process from task

    Hello,
    I did some research but did not find something like this. I need to cancel a process from within a task, for that, I defined a decision after the task verifying if the user clicked the "Cancel" button, and send it to a terminate event.
    The problem is, the process is set to complete status, but the company needs it to be Cancelled as if I has cancelled it from the nwa.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Stefan, thanks for your answer.
    Our client wants to leave the power to cancel the process in the event of it being not necessary (like a user that starts a process to create a material and then later he/she realizes it will not be necessary to create it) without the need of administrative intervention.
    For that, there would be a button on some human interaction tasks. I sent the event of pressing this button to terminate the process but for a status it is set to complete, but the customer would like the process to be in canceled process in this event.
    I don't think it's possible, but was looking for a way, as I am new to this technology.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Cancel JTree selection event ?

    Hello,
    I have defined a user object in the DefaultMutableTreeNode that holds a flag for disabled nodes - Now I would like to cancel events from the user when this node is being selected, also I would like to make this node appear disabled.
    How should I do this with JTree embedded inside an applet ?
    Thank you,
    Maxim.

    My rough idea is, store your previous selection, when you get selection change event, check if the node is disabled, if so, set the selection back to previous selection. Also, you can implement TreeCellRender interface, make the node's background gray to let user feel it is disabled.

  • Do I need to cancel the selection key when I close it's socket channel?

    I have a non blocking server implementation and I need to know is it mandatory to call SelectionKey#cancel after I have called the SocketChannel#close to it's channel? When I close the channel, will it cancel the key automatically or what if I don't cancel the key, how does it affect to the selector?

    Thanks ejp, you are right, it's documented in SelectableChannel not in SocketChannel. My mistake.

  • How can I cancel a printing task?

    I began printing a tex in a HP Photosmart Premium from my iPhone, but I realized that the text is too long (97 pages). How can I cancel this printing?

    Double press the home button on the iPhone and it will reveal Print Center.  You can cancel the print job there.  The printer may have a red 'x' that is shown while printing.  This red X will also cancel the job.
    I was an HP employee.

  • How to abort tasks in a Dynamic Action when apex.confirm = Cancel

    I have a text field that has a Dynamic Action attached to it. When the field is changed, the Dynamic Action fires. There are 6 separate tasks in that Dynamic Action.
    The very first task is a call to apex.confirm. I want to make sure that the user understand the implications of changing the value in this field. So, up pops the dialog, the user reads the information, and decides to click OK or Cancel.
    If OK is clicked, I want to continue through the rest of the tasks in the Dynamic Action. If CANCEL is clicked, I want to just abort out of the Dynamic Action.
    Is that possible?

    Yes, I do see a different behavior.
    I've set up an app on apex.oracle.com, #60312. Workspace is mavericksolutions. Login pwolf. Password A1B2C3 change on first login.
    The first field is tied to a dynamic action. The first task in the DA is an apex.confirm. Type something into the first field then click TAB to bring up the dialog box. Whether I click OK or click CANCEL, the 2nd task is still occurring. It appears that the only difference is that if I click OK, I also get a submit of the page.
    What I want, in fact, is twofold:
    1. If I click CANCEL, then STOP the execution of the remainder of the tasks in the Dynamic Action.
    2. If I click OK, go ahead and process the rest of the tasks in the Dynamic Action, but DO NOT SUBMIT.
    Basically, I want to ask the user if it's OK to go ahead and make the on-screen changes, but I do NOT want to do an auto-save. I want the user to look at the results on the screen and click the actual SAVE (or CREATE) button after ensuring their accuracy. Right now, it appears that the apex.confirm is firing a page submit when I click OK (the fields get cleared out). I don't want that page submit.
    I THINK I can accomplish goal #1 with a workaround, by splitting the DA into two pieces. Piece #1 would have only the confirmation dialog. Piece #2 would be fired from the same field change, would have a sequence number AFTER piece #1, and would be conditional on the value of the expression returned by the apex.confirm. So if the apex.confirm returned 'DOTHIS' when I click OK, I would look to see if Expression = DOTHIS for piece #2. If not, then piece #2 wouldn't fire.
    The remaining trouble, then, is that if I click OK to fire piece #2, the page submit will subsequently fire following the completion of piece #2. And no matter what, I definitely do NOT want a page submit. Is there a function similar to apex.confirm that does not do a page submit?
    Anyway, take a look at the app. It's not performing the way that I anticipated, which is the same behavior that you described. I expected that it would do exactly what you said. Alas...
