Cannot access "My World"
Hello,
I can access App World, athough I cannot get into My World. It just says "Please Wait" and nothing happens. I have left it waiting for a very long time (few hours yest.) and it does absolutley nothing. Can anybody help me? Man thanks
I read this in the WD community written by a user called alazO and it has worked; hope this is useful
Find out what the IP address is for your NAS drive. I set mine to a static address, so that it's always the same. If you need help with this, let me know, and I'll give more info. But in short, if you can log into your router, look under your networks tab and peruse -- you should be able to find it.
Finder -> Go -> Connect to server. In the type-in box, put in afp:// IP address, if that does not fix it, put in smb://IP address. So, if your NAS IP address is 192.168.1.100 (example), the you type in afp://192.168.1.100 in the box. Then press Connect. That should restart your connection.
AFP is Apple File Protocol -- it is Apple's version of file management over the network. SMB is Server Message Block -- it is Microsoft's file managment over the network. They both work for me. SMB is more common among various Linux, Unix, Windows systems, and works with Apple. I've read in blogs that Apple may be moving to SMB over AFP, but I don't know that for a fact. I suggest trying both for your NAS, one may work faster than the other, and may depend on the firmware in your NAS.

Cannot access app world with playbook using only tethering via my bb phone to get on to the internet
I am trying to access App World with my playbook. I do not have wifii but have successfully connected to the internet using the blackberry bridge and tethering feature.
My smart phone - the bold 9000 - is tethered to the playbook; I can access app world from my phone;
My phone is on a 3G network.
The message I get is that I am not connected via Wifii and cannot access app world. But, if I can access the internet, why can't I access app world?Hi VB
BlackBerry Playbook requires a Wi-Fi connection to use BlackBerry App World.

Cannot access Blackberry World
I have been accessing blackberry world via the games option but that is now no longer wirking can anyone help, PLEASE.
Simply uninstall it, restart your device, re-install it from your browser (www.blackberry.com/appworld/) and restart again. It should run as normal when you launch it.
But before you do that, try switching off your mobile network and launch the app using a WiFi network. If this works, then there's a problem in your connection settings.
Make sure to also check application permissions to confirm the app is authorised to connect to the network. Do this by going to settings > security & privacy > application permissions.
Else, check your service books or get help from your service provider if you still can't connect. -
Cannot access App World!!!!
I have a BlackBerry ID but cannot log in to BlackBerry App World through my 3G Curve. I have updated to the latest version and have the newest OS.
Every time I try to log in it tells me "An error has occured. Please try again later". I have contacted O2 and they have stated that as I can access BBM and browse the web it is not their issue and it os for BlackBerry to sort out!
One other thing, I have not synchronised my e mail account (which is my BlackBerry ID), do I need to do this to access the App World (sounds silly but I thought I'd exhaust all avenues).
HELP!!
PS found the solution further down!Well, I found the answer...sort of. Bear in mind that I am using OS 2.0 Beta, so maybe this will be different for those who are not on this OS. Anyway, the short answer is that nothing worked, not even doing a security wipe. When I did that, my only app was the browser--no App World at all! So, I did a debrick, which is done by rebooting the PB while it is connected to desktop manager. That reloads the OS in its factory configuration. App World has been fine since then.
Not a very gratifying solution, but not a terrible result either. -
Cannot access App World - Get Error Message
Everytime I try to open the App World I get the following message: Uncaught Exception: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError.
Any ideas?Have you tried accessing AppWorld on a different wifi network?

Cannot access my WD world edition on Mavericks 10.9 finder
Hello my fellow mac-users
I seem to have a tiny prob. I've recently updated my Macbook pro 13' to the new Mavericks 10.9. And now I cannot access my WD My Book World Edition 1TB external storage.
I see it on the finder and I can access inside its configurations through Bonjour. But when I try to simply get in through Finder, putting the correct Username and Pass, it says:
"There was a problem connecting to the server "MyBookWorld". The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem."
Now I tried to find anything on the web, but all I found was a mere suggestion to buy a newer WD external drive - which is not an option for me.
I can easily connect it and see all of my files there when I'm on a Windows 7 operated computer.
Can someone help me out? PLEASE!!!
Thanks in advance!I read this in the WD community written by a user called alazO and it has worked; hope this is useful

Cannot access to my WD world Edition
Hello
Hoping someone out there will have the answer to my dilemma
I'm using Lion and Time Machine and have installed MyBookWorld Edition
In Finder I now have 2 "shared drives" MyBookWorld and MyBookWorld-Backup. There are the 2 folders in the MyBookWorld and I can connect as guest/admin. However, MyBookWorld-Backup says Connection Failed.
What I wanted to do was to take some Time Machine files from my backup, transfer them to a pendrive and then let Time Machine carry on. I
Time Machine works and seems to backup but it seems as if I cannot access and browse the backup disk!
So, now I am snookered, can anyone advise how to handle this?
thank you so much
aleHi,
I am having similar problems as you had, did you have any luck finding the answers? In my case I just wanted to understand what is the share called My worldbook-back and why I only get connection failed when I try to see what is there? Time Machine only recognizes this "back up" share for the Time Machine back ups, it does not see the "main" worldbook share....
One more....can you see your WD on Safari/Bonjour? There are lots of features on the WD Network Storage Manager tool that I would like to use but I could not get Bonjour to show my worldbook.....
In case you can point me to a place I can get the answers I would appreciate.
Thanks, -
ASA 5505 Static hosts cannot access outside
I'm replacing an old PIX with a second hand ASA firewall.
I have configured the ASA in a very similar manner to how the PIX was set up but I'm having trouble with some hosts on the inside accessing the Internet. Any inside hosts which use DHCP work fine. Any inside hosts with a static IP (and configured on the ASA with a "static" rule) cannot access the Internet. For example, in the config below the server daviker-dialler cannot access the Internet.
I've spent a few days working on this now and have started from scratch several times but I'm not getting anywhere.
Apologies for all the X's everywhere, didn't like to post anything sensitive on the Internet. If I've obscured something pertinent let me know.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

: endHi Jouni,
Thanks for the info.
I didn't have icmp traffic allowed, so I knew ping wouldn't be working. I was testing using http.
I have enabled icmp and dhcp clients can ping outside. Static nat clients can't ping outside. Static clients also cannot use outbound http.
As suggested, I have run some packet traces.
From a static nat client on the ASA:

This looks fine to me, but as I say, an outbound tcp port 80 connection from the actual machine on 10.0.0.81 fails.

I can see the difference in the NAT translation section. A real outbound tcp port 80 connection from the actual machine on 10.0.0.20 works fine.
Finally, for the sake of comparison, I ran a similar packet trace using a static nat IP on the old PIX firewall:

Outbound traffic from static nat hosts on the old PIX firewall works fine. One glaring difference is that the PIX is inspecting http traffic, but surely this is a red herring. Another difference is that the old and new firewalls have different gateways / default routes & different outside IP addresses. As the new ASA firewall (and its dhcp hosts) can talk to the outside world quite happily I don't think this is relevant.
I wondered whether it might be down to the difference in the inside (255.255.255.0) and outside (255.255.255.192) subnets. The set up is the same on the PIX, but I wondered whether some other line of config might be required on the ASA to handle it. I adjusted the subnet of the inside interface on the ASA to match the outside one (both 255.255.255.192) but it didn't make any difference.
So I'm puzzled! -

Cannot access class java.nio.ByteBuffer
Hi All -
I'm trying to compile a java sample code.
I keep getting the error described in the subject line
cannot access class java.nio.ByteBuffer; file java\nio\ByteBuffer.class not found
I have un-ziped the java sdk 1.4.1 src.zip to a directory under c:\ and added the java\nio directory to the project setting and compile with jdk runtime 1.4.1 and yet get the same error....
I've tried by redirecting to src.zip and didn't work either....
I would appreciate your feedbacks and sorry for the lame question, consider it as a newcomer to Java world.
thanks in advanceYou test it by running the following line....
java java.nio.ByteBuffer
If it says "main not found" then your problem has nothing to do with the java install nor the classpath. The code you are trying to compile is wrong.
If it says class not found then you use this line next....
java -version
If this returns nothing then you are not using the Sun VM (you are using the MS one.) If it returns a version below 1.4 then your PATH statement is wrong (and you should uninstall all sun versions then reinstall.) You can fix the MS VM problem by altering the path so the java path is first.
If it does say 1.4 then you need to uninstall and reinstall because something is messed up. -
Server 2012 Local Shares - Cannot access using \\IP but works via \\localhost
I've been stuck on this problem for the last couple of days and I can't find a solution on the internet that works.
I have a Windows Server 2012 instance running on Amazon AWS with a public IP address. I am using it as an SCCM (System Center 2012 Configuration Manager) Server (so it is a Domain Controller also). I realize that it's probably not best practice to use a public
IP here, but I'm in a weird position where we are not connecting any of the Clients to the actual Domain (they are Workgroup computers all around the world). The goal here is to use SCCM to deploy software packages to all of the Clients, which are not on the
same LAN/VPN/Domain.
This is my first time setting something up like this, so I followed this guide. I am able to get the Workgroup computers to show up in the SCCM Server Device list (via manual client install), but these Workgroup computers need access to the Server's shares
to download the software packages. On Amazon, I opened all ports and allowed all IPs to communicate with the Server. I am able to RDP into the Server from any Workgroup computer using the IP address, but cannot access the Server's SMB shares even though I
am attempting the connection with a Domain account with access to those shares.
I decided to see if I can even connect to the shares locally on the Server. Logging in with an account with administrator privileges, I can access \\localhost\shares without
a problem. But when I try to do \\X.X.X.X\shares,
it asks for user/pass (confirming that it is able to connect) and I put in the correct credentials for the account with administrator privileges (using DOMAIN\ACCOUNT), but it continually says that the user/pass is incorrect. After I click cancel, an error
comes up saying "Error Code 0x80004005 Unspecified Error".
It is crazy to me that the administrator account that is logged in cannot access the local shares via the public IP address... obviously no remote computer would be able to access the shares if the Server itself cannot. I have tried disabling the firewall,
but this makes no difference. I am able to ping the IP from the Server and I get a response.
I have searched around the internet for a solution but nothing has worked. Here are some of the suggestions I've found (that have failed):
- Making sure "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is installed and enabled for the Ethernet Adapter
- Enabling NetBIOS over TCP/IP in IPv4 properties
- Ensuring IPv6 is disabled
- Server, TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper, and Workstation (services) are all running
Any ideas? Sorry for such a long post, just wanted to get as many details as I could. All help is appreciated. Thanks!
ShawnHi,
Are there any anti-virus software or other third party products running on the server? If yes, please disable them to see if it resolves the issue.
Here is a similar thread below I suggest you refer to:

Error "cannot access com.sun.java..."
edit i mistyped in the topic name, i mean to say "com.sun.j3d..."
I've set myself up using JCreator, installed j3d, j2sdk, and jdk. Tried a few test programs to make sure everything was working (a basic hello world and my chess game i created my junior year in highschool). It was all running fine.
So i started reading into j3d tutorials, and came across the HelloUniverse sample program. I slapped the code in and compiled it, only to be met with:
"cannot access com.sun.j3d.utils.applet.MainFrame".
I commented out the import line that included this, compiled, and it gave me another message complaining about the same thing, only this time ending in:
"...geometry.ColorCube"
Obviously, its just running down the line with all of the j3d imports, so i ran through and reinstalled all my j3d files; still didnt work. I can't figure out what's wrong with it. Please help.

Hello there, I am posting this message on behalf of my sister.
She cannot access her browser on the blackberry curve 8520, it comes up saying please contact your network provider. She is connected to wifi and I do not understand why it won't let her access it, so I thought I'd install the browser back to see if it has any effect.
So is there anyway someone could give me a blackberry browser link and a blackberry appworld link aswell because my sisters app world has vanished.
ThanksHello rsanto360 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
If your sister's data plan doesn't include browsing, this error may appear.
Have her go to Options>Advanced Options>Browser and ensure the default Browser is set to Mobile HotSpot. If she does subscribe to a data plan, have her contact her mobile carrier to ensure Browsing is included.
As for the issue with BlackBerry World, she can install it from www.blackbery.com/appworld
Let us know if this helps.
