Cannot add titles in editing

Just bought this MacBook Pro and already having a problem with iMovie HD. I have a Sony HDV-HC3 camcorder and had no problems importing the footage but when I go to edit and use titles it shuts down a soon as I click add. iMovie completely shuts down when I try to edit. What is wrong?

I had this problem, and I thought "Maybe the Mac - or iMovie HD - can't do two things at once: can't display the preview and add the title". So I turned off the preview (clicked the X at the bottom-right of the screen) before clicking Add. And that helped; it didn't crash so often.
Then I thought that I really ought to Save my project just before adding a title, so that all wasn't lost if it crashed.
And then I found that clicking Save (Apple key+'S') immediately before clicking on Add, saves the project, removes the preview banner, and makes everything stable ..so that when you click Add it all works beautifully.
So just Save (Apple key+'S') immediately before clicking Add, as Dan suggests.
Works for me.. no crashes since.

Hey Edward, I'm not sure if you're still having trouble with this, but I was struggling with it too, and what I believe fixed it for me was correcting some incorrect MobileMe login info. I guess the contacts were set up to be managed by MobileMe, and since the login wasn't going through, some permissions were disallowed. Anyway, my guess is that you have something misconfigured in an account that's managing your contacts. Good luck!

Open AirPort Utility. The first screen looks something like this:
Click on the AirPort Extreme and another screen will appear. Click Edit, then the window with the Wireless tab will appear.
If you do not see these screens, you will need to start over and configure your AirPort again.

Cannot add new selectors or edit existing CSS file with my Mac

I have just subscibed to Dreamweaver CC and I cannot add new selectors or edit the exisiting "main" css that comes with the tutorial. When asked to add selector a box appears but when I press enter/return twice it disappears. Also there is no option to edit existing properties. for example, to change a font color I pick color but there is no enter or "OK" option. I'm very puzzled and stuck.

The trial version of Dreamweaver is fully functional. The only limitation is that it stops working after 30 days. If you're having problems with getting the software to work correctly, it might be a good idea to try posting a question in the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum, mentioning the fact that you've already posted here (otherwise, they might just transfer you back to this or one of the other Dreamweaver forums).
If you can't make changes to files, it might have something to do with permissions or the user account that you've logged onto the computer with.
When asking for help in the other forum, mention your operating system, and which version you're using. The problem might be related to your computer setup.

On the latest Mac Mini Server Lion 10.7.2
Everything was working fine at first, I'm pretty sure either since i've upgraded to 10.7.2 or since we try to connect Windows8 to the server, Lion Server is not working to good anymore, from that time I cannot add/edit users or groups & assign any users to any goups, the + sign looks desable, and everything seems pretty glichy. The other thing I have notice is that a huge amount of Users & Groups has been added without my consent.
Do I have to ReInstall Lion Server??

I had the same issue. I opened the Workgroup Manager application and noticed the message "not authenticated as diradmin to directory: /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1" was under the icon bar at the top of the popup screen. When I clicked on that bar I entered the diradmin username and my password. After I exited the authentication dialogue box the message now read "Authenticated as diradmin to directory: /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1."
At that point I had full privalages in both the Workgroup Manager and Server App to create users and groups.
Not sure if this why the problem occurred in the first place but at least I resolved it without any major problems.

Premiere Elements 11 trial version for macMac computer photos uploaded to the timeline just finetrying to make a new title, streaming or in a framedouble clicked on the text in the box and nothing shows up when I type on my keyboard. I can delete the words that are there but not type in new ones. I selected the type and size, etc.

Joanne Murray J2 What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what operating system (including 32 or 64 bit) is your Premiere Elements installed? Forgive the questions if you have been there and done that, but I do not want to take anything for granted that might hinder a speedy resolution to your issue. Are you opening an already created title that is sitting on the Timeline in order to edit it in the Titler or are you trying to create a new Title (Default Text or other)? Do you know how to work with the Selection Tool and Type Tool in the Titler? Once I know what version of Premiere Elements that you are using, I will give you specific how to details. Thanks. ATR

FRM-47013 error: Cannot add parameter P LEVEL to Parameter List REPDATA: pa

Hello! I am using Forms 6i and get the above error-FRM-47013 error: Cannot add parameter P LEVEL to Parameter List REPDATA: parameter with this name exists. when clicking on the Run Report button on a parameter form. I have googled and I'm doing everything I know to do, but cannot get rid of the error. Any help is greatly appreciated! I only have 3 months Oracle experience coming from a VB/C# background.

A coworker figured out that the switchboard data input form was pointed at the wrong executable file. I knew there wasn't anything wrong with my code! I'll remember this one next time!

Cannot add shared Contacts in Open Directory from a client

Hello all
I need to transfer vCards from a local Address book to the Server and I need them to be shown in each client's Address book.
*Problem 1:* I cannot add or edit shared contact using the Directory app. from a client to a 10.5.3 Server. Only the Directory Admin credentials are valid. The client 10.5.5 is bound OK. The app is configured to use password, not Kerberos, and the Server is "responding normally" in the Directory Utility application.
I can even login as a mobile user with Network Home. Same there.
*Problem 2:* Ive put in Address Book the correct LDAP settings, but I cannot see a catalog of vCards. If I search using the search field, I get results, but I need them to be shown all as catalog.

This turned out to be a reverse DNS configuration problem. Apple support suggested using a local ip address instead of my public host name. That worked so I looked into the reverse dns configuration. I fooled myself by thinking that if I could reach my host with my.host.com with other services like http, that my DNS was set up correctly. My reverse DNS originally resolved to my.host.com when it should have been something more like 123-456-789-103.cos.pcisys.net. Now I can reach my host from anywhere with the Directory application.

I Cannot Add Buddies in iChat 4 and 5
Many people are reporting that they cannot add Buddies to either iChat 4 or iChat 5.
The Symptoms are that the Buddy appears in the Buddy List and then does the "Brightening/Fading" cycle but fails to be anywhere in the list including Off Line Buddies.
To Show Off Line Buddies, highlight the Buddy list to bring to the "front".
Then go to the View Menu and Enable Show Off Line Buddies.
(there is also an Option to display these in a separate Group).
There can be many causes and I will attempt to deal with then in the order that they are most likely.
A) The Contact is already in the Address Book.
When Adding a Buddy via the use of the + Sign at the Bottom of the Buddy List (Then Add Buddy) or invoking it from the Buddies menu a drop down appears to slide down out of the Buddy List Header area
In this slide out/drop down, you get the chance to Add the Screen Name and then the First Name Last Name details of the Buddy.
iChat checks the Address Book and if the First Name, Last Name items do not match any contact in the Address Book already then the Buddy will be added to the Buddy list.
As the Address Book does not allow two contacts to have the same name they will not be added to the iChat Buddy List if the name exists already.
In iChat 3 and earlier there was an Error Message that popped up saying there was Feedbag Error

Note: AIM Protocols call Lists "Feedbags". Contents (Buddies) are "Food" and of course Food is kept in Feedbags.
The Address Book is one Feedbag in this case and the Screen Name (only) Buddy List held on the AIM Server is the other.
The Software puts the two together for Display purposes
The Fix.
Either:
1) Add them as Screen Name only
2) Use the Arrow head at the end of the Last Name line to open the Address Book and pick the Contact.
3) Open the Address Book and Edit their Card to Add the Screen Name, then drag them from the Name column to the iChat Buddy List.
4) During any type of Chat use the item in the Buddies Menu to Add the person (it will display their Screen Name in Dark text if not in the Buddy List - Then item 2 can also be used)
B) Parental Controls
There are similar Symptoms if the Mac User Account is subject to Parental Controls.
If the Mac User Account on the computer is not an Admin account it is a Standard or Managed one
A Managed one has Parental Controls Enabled.
There is a Tab for Mail and iChat.
If it is turned on for iChat then all buddies are Blocked initially (in iChat 4 Jabber and Bonjour Buddy List cannot be used.)
Adding AIM valid Screen Names (AIM, Those with either @mac.com or @me.com endings) to the allow List Unblocks those Buddies and they will show in the Buddy List as On or Off line
The Fix.
In this case if you are the Managed account you have to get the Admin account to add the Buddy to the Buddy allowed list in Parental Controls.
Exception
There is a very large exception.
Due to the fact that the way Parental Controls blocks names until they appear in the Allow List there can be a problem if testing the same iChat Details in a Test Account.
Lets say you are the Admin User on the Mac.
You set up a second Mac User Account called Test.
In this you set up iChat with the same details (Screen name) you use in your Main Mac User Account.
You then test Parental Controls by turning it On and setting the iChat Limit option.
Then you add to the allow List one or two AIM valid names.
You check iChat and find they are the only Buddies that show up.
It works, so you return to your main Mac User Account and discover that most of your Buddies are missing.
On checking the iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts > Security Tab you find the Allow Specific People option is Enabled and the list only includes those Buddies you set in Parental Controls.
Choosing allow All does not seem to bring back the Buddies even if you Log out of the Test Mac User Account.
The Fix Here
Is to Disable all the Parental Control Settings again (Remove names from any list) before Logging out of the Test Mac User Account.
The cause is partly to do with the Setting in iChat > Preferences > General Section that reads "When I quit iChat, Set the Status to Off Line" which is not the default - leaving a partial login for Off Line Messaging. As a consequence your Buddy List is constantly being told to block certain Screen Names.
A Variation on this is if you have Two Log-ins of your Screen Name from either different apps or computers.
Altering the Buddy List in one effects the other login. The computer or app that was logged in first take precedence.
C) Adding Buddies as the wrong type (In Buddy List - But always Off Line)
This applies more to iChat 4 than it does to iChat 5
At the Add Buddy Screen/Slide in iChat 4 you have to choose if the Buddy is an AIM, @mac. or MobileMe name in a drop down.
The software shows the @mac.com or @me.com endings in grey in the Screen Name text field and adds this for you.
This can lead to Buddies being added as the wrong type as in ralphjohnsr added as [email protected] etc.
It can also lead to people being added with 2 @ symbols in the Screen Name ([email protected]@mac.com) and iChat not always telling you this is not allowed.
In both iChat 4 and 5, as Jabber IDs/Screen Names also look like Email Addresses, we have to also consider whether AIM names have been added to a Jabber List or Jabber Names added to AIM valid Lists.
D) Plain old Typos
Here I am talking about misreading someone's Screen Name and typing that in (Such as receiving and email with a Screen Name in it and typing the letter O for 0 (zero).)
And of course, just plain typing mistakes.
The Fix for C) and D)
The Buddy in this case will be in the Buddy List but will always be Off line
Highlight the Buddy with one click.
Do a Get Info (Apple()/Command(⌘) key and I key together) and their Info card will show up.
Correct as Required.

Do you mean under the {color:green}View{color} menu where I see Show Offline Buddies? (both iChat 4.0.8 and 5.0.3)

I kept looking for a button for the "slide out" at the top of the Buddy list. Found out it's the dialog box that appears when you click "+" (Add a new buddy…) at the bottom of the list. Yes, I can act like a beginner too
(Slide out to me sounds like a sideways slide out, versus a Pop Up or Pop Down Dialog box).

Cannot Add Funds PayPal Credit Card

Sony. Is a absolute joke. This issue has been going on for FOUR YEARS for some users. And now. Last month. I brought like 3 games. Then. All of a sudden. Cannot add funds using PayPal. Says credit card invalid. Ah. Yeah right. i have used paypal all this year. But now mysteriously. It doesnt work. I spent the past month a good $1,000 on ebay. With paypal. But now magically sony doesnt take my paypal. So i use credit card. Says card not valid. This is through the webisite on computer. I go to PS4. I try it. Says address not valid or something. Seriously. So for what. Its June. So for six months. I have used PayPal no problem. Now magically sony decides to say not valid. My credit card doesnt expire until 2016. Thats what. 2016. My address is correct. Some users say sony changed things. So you have to put your address exactly like your statement. Dont know if this is true or not But why has it worked for six months. Not now. I love playstation. I have all systems. But I love playstation the best. But guess what. I ended up going onto my xbox one. And buying, pre ordering $500 worth of games. Guess what. My paypal worked straight away. Ironic dont you think. Me and other gamers options is to only buy PSN cards. But ironically. You can only have $150 in your wallet at once. Why. Thats just dumb. Considering games are $100. I was all cashed up this month. As I got some money from my grandfather who past. I was ready to put $1,000 in my wallet. But guess what. Limit to $150. So obviously sony doesnt want our money. But makeing us jump through hoops. This is without a doubt the most unproffesional. Annoying. Frustrating thing ever. And it keeps saying. I got mine fixed. I emailed support. Took forever many emails, and eventually they fixed it. Basically they said. Some security thing, they stop funds. So they didnt say outright. But basically from what they said is. They have a limit each day on what you can spend in store. Already the PSN wallet has a limit of $150. Thats all you can add. When my account stopped working. I spend like around $300. As I brought 3 games. But one of those games was say $160, as it was like a special edition thing, so I assume if you either spend over the $150, or max $300. It stops. Which is just wrong. So say for example. Three new releases where out today. And we all wanted to buy them. But we cannot. What is it. per day. or do I have to buy one game, wait afew hours, then buy another. The support person didnt say any amount, or what exactly it was, but from just what they where saying, it sounds like they have a limit on what you can spend each day, but they werent allowed to say. I also have a xbox one and Wii U. And its so much easier buy games on Wii U and xbox one systems. Not to mention the headache with the new hard drive update with the Nyko Data Bank on PS4, i updated, and cannot use rest mode, and cannot play disc games, thanks sony, i upraded to a 4TB hard drive, but now i cannot play discs, or rest mode. Why cant you be just like Wii U and Xbox ONe and use external hard drives. Xbox one lets you use upto 16TB, SO yeah. I eventually got it fixed. I was going to buy all my multi platform games on ps4, and only exclusives on xbox one, but you know what, from now on, I am buying all my multi platform games on xbox one, and Only buying exclusives on ps4, Dont get me wrong. I am not a fanboy. And there are things I dont like about xbox one, or wii u. You cannot use a USB headset on them, but you can with PS4, as I use the Kraken USB headset on ps4, But apart from that. Xbox One controller is better, the ps4 is to noisy, and other above reasons, And not only that. I am in Australia. And out internet, i can download on xbox one, 3GB a hour, which is around the same speed i get on PC Steam, on ps4, i am lucky to downoad 1GB a hour.

ORABPEL-02052 and cannot add a new domain

Hi, I develope a very simple BPEL processes and ant it. But it shows error ORABPEL-02052. I add

in domain.xml file. Then, I stop and re start application server. But I still cannot ant the bpel process. However, in the BPEL control, I cannot add a new domain. And it shows err:

I use XP and install patch of 10.1.3.4

I reinstall DB and application server this weekend. I do not install the patch this time.
This error has not appeared.
I can add a new domain and delete it in the BPEL control. However, after I add a new domain. I cannot login to the BPEL control from Start->soaInstance->Oracle BPEL processes Manager->BPEL control.
If I need to login to the default domain, I should key in the default after the address. Why I should do this?

Cannot add new items to a value list in AW database

I have a database which I have been using for many years. One of the fields is a value list. I just went to add another item to the list, and no matter what I do, the Create button is grayed out. I have another value list in the same database that works fine.
There are currently 170 items in the value list that is causin the problem, but I didn't think that there was a limit to the number of items that can be is a value list. (At least there is nothing in the AW technical specifications to indicate thin. I duplicated the existing database, deleted about 20 items from the list, then saved the file, and reopened it, and still cannot add new items to that value list. Does anyone know what might be causing the problem?

Here is a short script which may help.
Replace the pop-up item by a text one and edit the property myList in my script to fit your needs.
Select the field to fill and run the script.
Then choose an item in the displaid list. It will be pasted in the selected field.
This trick would give you to work with a "no limit" list of items.

Cannot add form fields in document

I have a document that I cannot add form fields to. When I try I get a message that says "You cannot edit the file as a form due to its security settings.
When I go to Advanced->Security->Show Security Properties. The security method is set to No Security and everything is "Allow" under the Document Restrictions Summary.
Where is there a security issue?

The fonts are not embedded and that may also be something to address. A lot of these issues may be related to the 3rd party product used to create the PDF.

Cannot create title tag, meta tags for iWeb site, per Google requirements.

I created simple website in iWeb to meet art show deadline

but when I tried to submit to search engines (via GoDaddy "Traffic Blazer" product), several issues or errors noted...no title tag, meta tags, keywords, too little text, etc. Was told by Apple, there is no fix at this time...no way to access to actual HTML code, to add title tag or meta tags, etc...since iWeb is merely a consumer, not professional enterprise, product. Researching further, I even tried to submit to Google directly, not via GoDaddy "Traffic Blazer", but could not "verify" my url site (because meta tag missing and/or could not upload entire html file, as required. I'd produced client websites in past on Adobe GoLive and was learning Dreamweaver, when someone alerted me to simplicity of iWeb. It is clean and simple, but wish I'd anticipated these other issues. Is there a solution to this with iWeb or should I finish learning Dreamweaver and start over? Thanks for any advice you can share.

Both these last postings were helpful. THANKS. I could not open home.html file with "text edit", but when using Taco HTML Edit, it would open...so I dusted off (novice) HTML skills and entered the appropriate title tag and meta tag, per Google's requirements. Then, went to my GoDaddy hosting control center and (I think) I uploaded new file with new tags. Seems to be major lag time with any changes, so not sure my site is now successfully "verified", on Google. Hope I did not mess anything up, in the process. There seems to be various lag times before any changes take effect (right??).
So now...I'm very glad to find out about iMap and will buy it and watch the tutorial video, as instructed...since I am unsure if last 'fix'...fixed the problem, etc...and always eager to learn more. This is my first Apple discussion post, and certainly impressed/grateful for expert help. THX again.
