Cannot complete recovery procedure of iPod Touch 4g

My son´s iPod touch 4g was lost for some time, plus he forgot the password. I go through all the steps to restore it, but at some point while itunes is downloading the software update, the ipod disconnects, and I cannot complete the process

Thanks IIIaass. I do not get that message, but I disabled the antivirus anyway. What happens is that after some 10 minutes, and ca. halfway thru the process, the ipod disconnects and iTunes shows the following message: "iTunes could not connect to the ipod "ipod" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the ipod before it can be used with itunes"
We dont remember the passcode, but in any case, the ipod is blocked and will not let us introduce a passcode even if we remembered it.

You can only sync with one computer. I would backup to one computer and then restore from backup.

I've the same problem. ipod running iOS 5.1.1, when I go to redeem the screen would say "Loading ..." and then kicks me back to the Redeem screen again. Many times, this would happen even before I finished entering the code. Reboot and resetting does not help.

ITunes saying cannot read and write on iPod Touch 3rd gen 64Gb

I just got an iPod Touch 64Gb and synched with my iTunes 9 on my MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard. Getting error message after about 6Gb into the synch saying that it cannot access read or write to the memory of the iPod.
Went already at the Apple Store to show and exchange the iPod... total surprise, my new iPod does the same. Do I have something wrong with my iTunes 9 (already reinstalled once)? My old IPod 80Gb with hard disk does all the synch without problem...

Found the issue: 2 corrupted music files in my iTunes library. iTunes does not say much about files it cannot read. Just stops the synchronization but not tracking of error further than that!! If it happens, keep working in finding out which piece of music is being copied when the error occurs then try to read it. I downloaded a new version from my TC and all is right now!!

Cannot set up mail on iPod Touch using Mac's AirPort WI-FI.

This is FYI. My problem has been fixed so this might help someone. I could not set up my mail account on my new iPod Touch using my home Mac's AirPort WI-FI. I do not have a separate wireless router. I am running Tiger OSX 10.4.11 with an iMac. Safari and You Tube, etc. on the Touch was working fine. I kept getting "cannot connect using SSL" and "POP server...is not responding." I found out, by myself, that if I turned off my firewall on the Mac, my email account set up and I could receive and send emails. I also found out if I set up the account on another WI-FI, it would work. I don't like to turn off the firewall, so I won't check my email on my Touch using my Mac's WI-FI.

My server setting is smpt.me.com
SSL is turned on.
Port 587
Sever is turned on
All the settings below the server on/off switch are greyed out so i cannot edit them myself.
The ipod touch is brand new yesterday and up to date with the latest software.

I cannot sync anything to my ipod touch

Today I purchased at 32gb ipod touch. However, when putting it into my computer it came up with:
"device is not connected" and "disk cannot be read"
I have changed both the cables i use and the USB ports but my problem does not seem to go away. i have installed the latest update and restored my ipod and the problem is still there. Is there any solution to this?

I am +so glad+ you posted this!! I've had the same problem since I bought my 32g and tried 10 other "solutions" on these boards with no luck. I was worried that I'd screwed things up even worse & was ready to toss it in the driveway and run it over before stumbling across this thread. Well, I had no problems after I followed your directions and finally got everything synced.
SO... I set up an ID just so I could post to find a way to thank you personally. (And ask another question).
Will disabling the hyperthread setting affect anything else on my computer, and/or do I need to do this every time I restart? What exactly happened?

ITunes 8.2.1 cannot see the podcasts in iPod touch

I upgraded to iTunes 8.2.1 now.
Then iTunes downloaded some new/recent podcasts.
When I synced my iPod touch, iTunes showed this message:
The iPod "<my iPod name>" cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes Library (10.6GB required, 2.06GB available).
My iPod touch (with 3.0 OS) still contains about 9GB of podcasts,
but iTunes doesn't show it when I click on Devices->iPod touch.
My iTunes library shows all podcasts intact on my PC.
Checking Podcasts->Sync->all and All podcasts doesn't work.
If I could delete all podcasts on the iPod, I would, but there are like thousands and there is no "Delete" for a certain podacast folder.
I could only delete one by one, which I don't want to do because
there are like 1700+ of my Japanese audio lessons.
Please help me!

Neither method worked. Replacing the music library and rolling back to 8.2 (after deleting four iTunes-related plist files) resulted in the same problem - everything syncs but my Music. I also reset the iPod Touch but that didn't make a difference.
The interim solution I found is to add Music to my iPod manually. I set my iTunes iPod Preferences to manually update the iPod and drag and drop away. A pain, but at least I can use the iPod until I figure out how to get Music to automatically sync again.

How to exit recovery mode for ipod touch 4g

My ipod touch is stuck in recovery mode and so far, the only way to exit recovery mode is to restore it. I have not backed up my photos on the ipod because I usually charge it using a wall charger rather than connecting it to iTunes. There is over 4,000 priceless photos that I do NOT want to lose on that iPod. How do I exit recovery mode without restoring the iPod?
