Cannot complete successful installation of Yammer 3.1.4 Web part on SharePoint 2010 Standard

I have installed Yammer server component successfully.
I have inserted the Yammer Web Part (Ver 3.1.4) onto a page in SharePoint 2010.
However, when in view the page the place on the page where the web part should how up has an error:
System Exception: Unable to load web part.
When I edit the page and look at the web part, it looks normal, showing the feed types, but when I select a feed, like "Company Feed", I get a popup window that says "To save your change before continuing, click OK. To continue without saving,
select CANCEL.

Hi Larry,
According to your description, the Yammer web part doesn't load when you used it in a page.
You must configure the web part to point to a network. Edit the page, select the desired feed, and choose a network. Then, Save the page.

  • Full recovery from disk "Windows cannot complete the installation"? stuck in loop!

I have a satellite A305-6916 in which the hard drive failed, and I did not have recovery media. I bought a new hard drive, and ordered recovery media. I installed the new hard drive...the old one was a WD 320gig that I replaced with a new WD640gig....and I booted the recovery disc. It went through the whole process for like an hour until it got just past where it said "please wait while windows sets up your computer" and then to the Vista splash screen, and then I got an error message with no number that said " Windows cannot complete the installation. To Install Windows on this computer, restart the installation" Then a message followed about Windows will not operate with the hardware on this computer. Now it just endlessly boots to the first message. I click ok, and it restarts, gets to the splash screen and displays the message. I was running vista 64bit with 4megs of ram. If they sent me the Vista32bit recovery disc, could this be my problem? The disc says it is 64bit????

    Hi R98,
I saw your post and I will be happy to help. Yes, you will need to do this on a different computer. As for the 32 or 64 bit question; you can't tell from the BIOS but you can use certain information to look up the processor but the install will have to go successfully first.

I cannot complete an installation of ITunes.  During the install, I receive the following error message:
Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Bonjour\dns_sd.jar.

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • 'Windows cannot complete the installation.Restart the installation.

I had a hard drive replacement on my HP Pavillion dm4, and ordered HP Recovery disks (3). Which I then installed along with a Driver supplementary disk. After this laptop finalized software installation and now it says that
Windows cannot complete installation. Restart installation.
Everytime computer restarts I get thos error message. There is no way to get out.
What should I do? Install disks again? I dont know what to do now.

  • Blank Screen of Windows 7 after complete successful installation

I installed Windows 7 on my latest iMac using the SD card method without a hitch.
After installing the bootcamp drivers via windows the mac restarted to complete the installation but after the initial white boot up screen, the screen remains black.
I had previously installed parallels and started experiencing this problem after uninstalling it. So I decided to do a fresh install of Windows 7 but the problem still remains.
Kindly help me out in this regard.
    Thank you.

Me too - just sits there - no signs of life. No solutions I've found in the forums either

  • Cannot create mysites from powershell: Original XSLT List View Web Part not found

I have a bizarre problem in my SharePoint 2013 farm. This does not occur in my test farm, only in the farm we were going to go live with.
    I'm on windows Server 2012, SQLServer 2012 SP1, SharePoint 2013 April CU. 1 appserver/centraladmin server, 2 web servers.
When I log into our mysitehost and click newsfeed, it will create a mysite (even though first it displays "we are sorry there was a problem creating your site")
But from powershell, whether I use $UserProfile.CreatePersonalSite() or New-SPSite, I get the following error:
Original XSLT List View Web Part not found
So far I've only found one other person with this:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/2503e42c-e114-4e89-8e00-89fe70f0b154/cannot-create-sharepoint-mysite-programmatically
This is a brand new farm, created with the same scripts I created my test farm with, and same version of SharePoint. Only the service accounts are different. (Farm account has admin on the servers right now since I was setting up profile service).
Some other errors from the same correlation ID that look related:
It can't seem to find the listemplate 101
And something looks wrong with the MySiteDocumentLibrary feature
    I have tried the following:
    1. run psconfig.exe on each server
    2. install-spfeature -AllExistingFeatures
    3. looped through the directory under Features and for each called Install-SPFeature $dirname -Force
    4. uninstalled and reinstalled MySiteDocumentLibrary feature
    5. blew away the whole farm (removed all servers from farm, deleted all databases) and recreated it.
    6. tried creating the UPA from the CentralAdmin gui.
The only real difference I can think of between the working farm and non working farm is, I installed the working farm using RTM, then as they came out added the March PU and April CU. For this farm I installed RTM and March and April, and then ran my build
    farm script.
I am at a loss. What do I need to do, re-install the binaries? That's all I can think of. What I love is that our test / POC system worked fine, and now 2 weeks before go-live I'm seeing errors on the production servers I've never seen before. Using the
    same scripts no less.

I've had other problems in this farm: the bug where when you add Administrators to a Search Service via the Manage Service Applications page, it removes the SPSearchDBAdmin role from the search service process account. That one did not happen in the other farm.
At least other people have that one and I could just use the farm admin instead (still troublng of course).

    Ok,
    Here is the problem:
When creating a mysite from powershell or script, apparently you can ONLY do this from a wfe (or a server running Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Application in services on server).
You CANNOT create mysites from script on your appserver if it is not also a Web Application Server. I confirmed the same is true in my test farm. I guess I was always running most of these scripts on the webserver.
I searched all over and cannot find this documented anywhere.
Who do I contact to have Microsoft document this?
It's Thursday morning, I've been working non stop since Saturday morning so you don't have to :)

I recently followed a prompt to update my version of iTunes on my Windows based PC.  I have some kind of permissions problem apparently because the new version cannot properly install and I cannot listen to my music.  What can I do?

Solving the iTunes Installation Problems in Windows
    1. Apple has posted their solution here: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows- Unable to install or open - MSVCR80 issue.
    2. If the Apple article does not fully resolve the problem for you, then try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - MSVCR80.

  • ICal Deleted and Cannot Complete Custom Installation

Okay.... I know there is just something I'm missing here. I deleted iCal (because I was having problems syncing my iphone and thought a reinstall would be a good idea) and now, I cannot seem to figure out how to reinstall it.
I have gone into the custom install screen when I inserted my install disk, but I swear.... There's no iCal.
I even tried what one poster suggested.... Downloading Pacifist and extracting the file. Again.... It doesn't show iCal in the list of applications.
Am I crazy? Why am I not seeing it?
And how can I get iCal back?!

Did you manage to solve the problem?
I have done exactly the same thing and now am well and truly stuck

  • Cannot retrieve data from PublishingPageContentOWSHTML in a Content Search Web Part

I tried to display the content of a page using Content Search Web Part, the page is stored in a Pages library and the content type is Article Page.  When the data is retrieved in the Content Search Web Part, the page content mapping to PublishingPageContentOWSHTML
is empty, although other data, such as Title and Page Image, can be retrieved.  It's very strange that I can do this work correctly for another CSWP web part, that page is stored in a Pages library in another subsite.  Both of the CSWP web parts
are on the same publishing site.
Could everybody tell me what I was doing wrong?   Thanks you very much in advance.
    Newbie to SharePoint.

Hi Albert GSC, I had the same problem. I'm starting now with display templates and after including "'SecondaryFileExtension','ContentTypeId'" at the end of the mso:ManagedPropertyMapping section it worked.
For example, my mso:ManagedPropertyMapping section was (PublishingPageContentOWSHTML returns empty):
    <mso:ManagedPropertyMapping msdt:dt="string">
    'Picture URL'{URL de la imagen}:'PublishingImage;PictureURL;PictureThumbnailURL',
    'Link URL'{Dirección URL del vínculo}:'Path',
    'Line 1':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE',
    'Line 2':'Title',
    'Line 3':'PublishingPageContentOWSHTML'
    </mso:ManagedPropertyMapping>
Then I included "'SecondaryFileExtension','ContentTypeId'" (PublishingPageContentOWSHTML returns its value):
    <mso:ManagedPropertyMapping msdt:dt="string">
    'Picture URL'{URL de la imagen}:'PublishingImage;PictureURL;PictureThumbnailURL',
    'Link URL'{Dirección URL del vínculo}:'Path',
    'Line 1':'ArticleStartDateOWSDATE',
    'Line 2':'Title',
    'Line 3':'PublishingPageContentOWSHTML',
    'SecondaryFileExtension','ContentTypeId'
    </mso:ManagedPropertyMapping>
Still don't understand why but I'm looking for the reason, until then hope it helps

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911g cannot complete s/w installation on laptop running XP

Initially, successfully installed the 8600 s/w on a Dell D810 laptop running XP which is linked both via Ethernet and wirelessly to the same LAN as the printer.  The printer is wirelessly linked to a port on a WAP device connected to the LAN/router. After setting up the router with DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 addresses, successfully set-up e-Print function thru Verizon high speed internet connection. This confirms that the my LAN and Internet can see the printer connection through the WAP. Guess I should have left well enough alone, but I decided to also install the printer on my desktop, a Dell XPS desktop (also running on XP) that is linked thru a wired Ethernet connection to the same LAN.
The XPS s/w install was flawless and I can print from the desktop and HP e-print functions continue to work on the 8600, but I can no longer print from the laptop.  As I mentioned, the s/w did load successfully  on the laptop when I initially installed the printer. Following a suggestion on HP's website, I uninstalled the HP 3800 s/w in an attempt to reinstall the printer on the laptop. However, I have not been able to successfully reload the s/w on the laptop, despite numerous attempts.. The program can find the printer on the LAN, it always comes up with the same result: "The printer was unable to be installed over the network".  I confirmed that there is no firewall or security setting blocking the s/w load.
As part of my problem resolution, I've also followed the procedures contained in HP Troubleshooting Your Wireless Connection  but still cannot complete the installation process on the laptop. In my latest attempt to resolve the problem,  I marked the 8600 as shared on the XPS desktop system, as suggested in another post, but suspect that would only affect USB-connected printers, not those that are wirelessly connected.
When I downloaded the HP Hardware Diagnostic Utility (HPHDU), it also was able to find the printer on the LAN but displayed a message: "We're sorry but the OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911g in not supported by this utility".
Can anyone offer a suggestion as to why the 8600 install worked successfully when initially loaded on my laptop but I cannot reload it? That could provide a clue as to what is blocking the reinstallation on the laptop. As I said, the desktop s/w loaded successfully and I can access the 8600's functions from there. Each of the HP utilities I downloaded from HP and have run on the laptop can find the 8600, but none can complete the s/w load so that I can use the printer from the laptop.
The LAN also has an Ethernet link to a HP OfficeJet 7310 that can be accessed from any PC on my network, so I reluctant to entirely remove all HP software so I can at least have one printer operational. I feel like I am on the bleeding edge of technology so any help is appreciated!
    Thanks.

I have added the URL for the site in question to my "Trusted Sites" in Internet Explorer 10.  I read through the KB 2716529.  There is no TabProcGrowth registry entry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER, but there is one under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
and the value is set to "Medium" which appears to be accurate.  I tried running the "Fix it For Me" option offered with that KB, and the wizard indicated the problem could not be found on my computer.
How can I resolve this issue?  Utilizing slide libraries is a very important feature of SharePoint for my organization, and going back to Office 2010 is simply not an option.

    Hi Jen_O,
According to your description, my understanding is that you were unable to publish Slides into SharePoint 2010 with Office 2013.
For narrowing this issue, let's verify the followings:
Please test on other machines with the same system configuration, compare the result.
Please test on other machines with 32-bit system and IE 10, compare the result.
Whether you are able to publish Slides from Windows 7 and Office 2013 32-bit.
Whether this issue occurres for all slide files with Office 2013.
Please create a new slide in PowerPoint 2013, and check if it could be uploaded into a new Slide library.
In addition,  Office Web Apps (as part of SharePoint 2010) allow SharePoint users to view and edit Office documents (Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.) from within the browser. Typically we can click on a link to a PowerPoint, for example in a document library,
and be taken to a new page to present PowerPoint.

  • Windows 7 installation cannot complete

I've got a HP Mini 110-1115SA that came with WIndows 7 Starter whose HDD failed. I've fitted a new disk which the system recognises ok. The recovery disk I made when I first bought the PC tried to install Windows XP (odd because it came new with Windows 7!). Anyway I bought new recovery disks from HP. When I use them files are copied onto the HD ok and then I'm told to restart the computer. It goes through the process of installing drivers without seeming to complain then says I need to restart. When I restart it says setup is preparing Windows for first use.  I get a windows 7 Starter Welcome screen but then I get a message saying "Windows could not complete the installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation". I cannot get past this point. I did read that the recovery disks wouldn't work with a new HDD

and followed the procedure there without problem but that didn't fix it.
    Any help much appreciated.

I kept trying and eventually found that the Mac keyboard was the problem. For whatever reason, it wasn't registering at all (battery level at 50%). At one point, it just worked, and I was able to use the option key to boot into Mac and complete the installation with no further issues thereafter.
One of those bizzare issues I guess. Extremely frustrating, but ultimately resolved now.
    Cheers.

  • Installing windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, cannot complete installation

    Hello,
I am currently trying to install a genuine windows 7 home premium copy on my iMac 27" using boot camp assistant 3.0.1 on a new partition. Partition is correctly made, installation proccess was smooth but when windows restarted to complete installation everything goes black. When I use safe mode it tells me that windows cannot complete installation on safe mode, and prompt me to reboot and start windows normally. The windows logo appears again but then everything goes black. I removed the partition and repartititoned the disk with boot camp, and tried installing again. Now it's been about half an hour and after the installation reboot, and the screen is black.
    Any ideas?
    thanks in advance.

    Sorry,
Is this an edu download ISO that you burned to DVD yourself, or retail copy?
No reason to redo partition, when / if you do boot 7 HP, you can always just do clean install, there is nothing wrong with the partitions.
There definitely are problems with 27" iMac and Windows 7 support, and BC 3.0 came out last... July actually, so almost a year, and before RTM (even though "frozen" W7 went through some major changes later).
The worst scenario is when BCA freezes or is killed, that can leave the entire drive and Mac OS inoperable (backups are imperative).
So if you burned the DVD yourself and used Disk Utility, reburn at reduced (2x) speed is all I can think of.
More problems await you AFTER 7 is installed and Apple Boot Camp drivers mess things up again!
