Cannot connect to Company in SAP 8.81
Hi everyone,
I hope someone can help me out with this problem because I don't know what else to try!
I have a DLL that connects to SAP Business One using the DIAPI (doesn't use the UI).
This DLL used to work when when the system was SAP B1 2007 PL39.
Now the costumer is upgrading to SAP B1 8.81 PL10 and the DLL doesn't connect anymore when launched from the client.
This is my configuration:
Computer A (Server): SQL Server 2008 R2 / SAP B1 Server 8.81 PL10
Computer B (Client): SAP B1 Client 8.81 PL10
My DLL connects to the company using the following code:
SAPbobsCOM.Company aCompany = new SAPbobsCOM.Company();
aCompany.Server = "aaaaa";
aCompany.DbServerType = BoDataServerTypes.dst_MSSQL2008;
aCompany.UserName = "manager";
aCompany.Password = "xxxxx";
aCompany.CompanyDB = "yyyyy";
iErr = aCompany.Connect();
Now.... if i execute this code in the server (Computer A) the DLL connects to the company.. if i execute the same code in the client (Computer B) the DLL remains "stuck" in the connect() instruction and never connects. There is no error code or exception but it just won't connect.
Apart from the DLL everything else works in the Client: i can open SAP B1, connect to the server, etc....
What am i missing? I also tried setting the following properties in the company object but nothing works:
aCompany.language
aCompany.LicenseServer
aCompany.UseTrusted
Hope someone can help me...
Thank you!
David
Hi David,
I've not had any problems connecting solely via the DI API on a SBO 8.81 Patch 10 installation (with a SQL 2008 backend). You do need to specify the license server for the connection (but you've mentioned in one of your posts that you are including this property so I'm going to assume that this isn't an issue).
Can you connect any addons within the SBO client on the workstation?
Have you tried deleting the SM_OBS_DLL folder (search the forum for that folder name if you aren't sure how to do this)?
Finally, you can check the DI API log to see if there's any error message being logged. By default, the path will be:
C:\Documents and Settings\<profile>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\SAP Business One\Log\DIAPI
on a Windows XP workstation.
Kind Regards,
Owen

I have created an instance and activated it succesfully in CAL (status is active). When I click Connect from the instance line, Remote Desktop tries to connect to frontend IP. The connection is not formed but instead I get an error message: "Remote desktop cannot connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons: 1)Remote access to server is not eabled 2)The remote computer is turned off 3) The remote computer is not available on the network.
Could you please help me to get connected. Thanks!Hi Hurtta,
Could you check that you are not behind a firewall that does not let you open an RDP connection to the VM?
Best regards,

After installing Leopard I cannot connect onto company server
After installing Leopard I am unable to connect to our company server. I was able to see the server when I was on tiger. I tried to connect the server manually but it seems I can't even do that. What to do next ? Server connects both PCs and Mac in the office.
I went into finder preference and click connect to server. I don't see any of our three servers that I saw on tiger. Not sure what to do next.
I get the message
The server does not exist or it is not operational at this time. Check the server name or IP address and your network connection and try again.I wish I was writing with an answer, but all I can really offer is that "I feel your pain". In my case, after upgrading to Leopard, I can see many, but nowhere near all, computers on our network, and there's no obvious explanation for who appears and who doesn't. Worse, I can see the one I most need to see (my administrative assistant) but there is no option to file share through drop boxes or any other mechanism we've found (despite enabling those options in preferences) and the only option listed is to "share screen" -- which is interesting since my assistant's computer is running Tiger, and selecting it on my end fails every time!
What gives!?! It's tough being the local mac evangelical when s**t like this goes down! -
XI Configuration: Integration Builder..Cannot connect to repository
Dear All,
I am facing a strange problem in our XI7 server SP11. When I click on the Tools-->Configuration Wizard in Integration Builder I am getting a error message "Cannot connect to repository "
"com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: Cannot connect to Repository"
Please let me know the cause of the error. I have checked the configurations in Exchange Profile and its fine.
Please advice what should be done to correct the error.
Warm regards
MazdulDear Jai,
One of the blog tells about the front end configurations..but this is not applicable in our case as evryone is facing the same issue.
The other blog mentions about the rfc connections and they are working fine.
Can you advice further ??

We use Business Objects Data Integrator 6.5 to connect to SAP R/3 system to generate ABAP extracts and load these extracts into a custom Oracle database. The current production R/3 system is in 4.6. We are planning to upgrade the R/3 system to ECC 6.0 and currently testing our interface from BODI 6.5 to R/3 6.0. We were able to successfully create a data store point to R/3. However when we execute a job, we get the following error
Cannot connect to SAP R/3 (datastore <dsname> using host <host ip>, client <cl#>, user <uname>, and system number <0>. Please make sure the SAP R/3 server is running and login information is correct.
The same login info was used to connect SAP GUI and it is working and we are able to execute the ABAP extractors. We have also tried running the RFC_GENERATE_AND_EXECUTE_ABAP function and it is executing as well.
BODI is installed on Solaris and R/3 is on Aix.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

ERROR: The new SAP tools in /usr/sap/DEV/EHPI/abap/exe cannot connect
Hi All.
I am attempting to upgrade my ECC 6.0 EPH3 system to EPH4.(System 'i' V6R1M1) I am hitting an error on phase PREP_INIT/CHECKPROF_INI which states 'ERROR: The new SAP tools in /usr/sap/DEV/EHPI/abap/exe cannot connect to your database.' The log file /usr/sap/DEV/EHPI/abap/log/DBCONNCHK.LOG contains more details about the failure.
At this point I see the processes has created to additional kernel libraries: SAPDEV70UP and SAPDEV70U2
I am logged on as DEVOFR per the documentation. DEVOFR is the owner of all objects in /usr/sap/DEV/EPHI.
Here is the error from DBCONNCHK.LOG :

When I display library SAPDEV70UP, DBSLENCWT is there and R3OWNER is the owner.
My DBSL is at the latest version for my environment.
Has anyone seen this?
Thanks in adnvance.
DianaFYI,
I got past this issue by upgrading the kernel first.

8.8 Client cannot connect to Windows Server 2008 error -1102
SAP Business On 8.8 on PL 18
This is not the first time I have had this issue with Windows Server 2008.
however everytime the resolution was diffrent. Now this site is causing trouble.
The issue is the client cannot connect. We have the log on window, can see the company list. type on the password and we get a -1102 error.
The client on the Server itself can log on. It is the cleints that cannot.
I checked these below.
1 SQL Native client is installed and ok.
2. Licence server is configured and ok
3. The user has admin access to locl PC
4. The SAP user name and password are correct ( client on server can connect fine )
5. The ports 1433, 30000 and 30001 are open on the server.
6. Through SQL server configuration the named pipes and TCP are enabled.
7. SQL server browser is running
The only things I have not tried are
The Firewall is running on the server and I have not yet stopped it. Will try that tomorrow.
Do you have any other ideas please ?I have got this working but I am not confidant of the outcome - yet - I really need your expert advise here.
This is what I did. In that order.
1. As Owen suggested I checked if there was a specified Port for the instance. What I found was TCP Dynamic ports were enabled ( SQL server config manager | network configuration | tcp properties ) and there was no TCP port specified. Assuming ( ai may be wrong) that the system assigns a dynamic port to this instance I set it up so the Dynamic port does not happen and manually specified the Port 1433. Restarted the SQL Service. ( still having the Port 1433 open in the firewall). This did not solve the issue.
2. With the above setting still on, switched off the firewall. Went to the PC client and SAP can log on now. Now keeping the SAP client running, switched on the Firewall on the server. Log off SAP on PC client and log back in ( with firewall off ). SAP now can log on.
3. I had to do the above step for all PCs to get them working.
4. Currently the firewall is on and clients can connect
So what could be happening? I have no clue. It is apparent there is some setting that gets saved within the PCs ( may be user profile) after the first log on with the Firewall off - to say its safe ?
However I have no idea what will happen if the server is restarted u2013 this server we cannot restart any time we want as itu2019s a critical server and runs other things.
I would still like to get to the bottom of this to understand what is happening.
I have a SAP message running too and will ask them this same question. -
111 Cannot connect to SBOCommon
Dear all,
I am trying to execute code that connected to the DI api But I am getting the following error:
" -111 Cannot connect to SBOCommon" .
frmMain.oCompany= new SAPbobsCOM.Company();
frmMain.oCompany.Server = 'SAP_B!';
frmMain.oCompany.UserName = "TEST1";
frmMain.oCompany.Password = "TEST2";
frmMain.oCompany.UseTrusted= true;
retValue = frmMain.oCompany.Connect();
I double checked passwored and it is correct. I m not sure why its coming back with the above mentioned error.
Any help is appreciated
Weerachai
ps. I can connect to SAP B1 .You should also check the OBSCommon user in the SQL Enterprise manager. This error also pops up when the OBSCommon user's loginname is not the same as the Name. Both should be OBSCommon. If this is not the case delete the OBSCommon user and add it again with the right name and loginname. Just make sure that you also give this user the db_owner role.
Hope this helps...

PI 7.11: Cannot connect to server using message server:...
Hello Guys,
we make the Application Management for a Customer PI System.
Scenario:
- the SAP Gui Connection to the ABAP Stack is routed via SAPRouter and Works fine.
SAP Gui -> our SAP Router -> VPN Box from Customer -> Firewall Customer -> ABAP Stack PI System
- WebAccess its working fine, the Customer use Webdispatcher on every PI Server...
Browser -> VPN Box from Customer -> Firewall Customer -> Java Stack (Port: 5xx00 btw. 81xx (Webdispatcher))
Problem:
Our Problem ist, we can not proceed the Integration Builder or the ESB, the Java Web Start works fine and open the Logon Screen Correctly -> but i fill the Logon Screen with my User name and Password and press Logon come the follwing Error:
"Cannot connect to server using message server: ms://<hostname>.<domain>:8134/P4"
In the Details from the Error Message:
"<hostname>.<domain>:53404 Reason: com.sap.engine.services.rmi_p4.P4IOException:
Cannot open connection to host: <IP-Adress of Central Instance> and Port: 53404"
The Customer says, the Firewall is open with the IP Adresses and P4 Port but i dont think so...
Can everybody help me, or have tips for me! I have checked a lot of OSS Messages (PI High Availabilty etc... its all correct on the System)
Sorry for my bad English
Best Regards,
MarkusHi Markus,
did you check if the browser is using a proxy? (In this case your scenario unfortunately won't work).
P4-port should generally be routed via a proxy (described in the help.sap.com), but within the PI-Tools(JNLP) the proxy-usage is not implemented. There is even a SAP-note that describes how to check the JavaWebStart-Proxyconfiguration, but this won't help either.
If there is a proxy defined in the browser everything is working fine till you pass the logon-screen but even with the correct "javaws"-settings you won't be able to go on.
(This problem is pretty bad if you do have developers and the SAP-servers seperated because of security issues. I'm hoping that this malfunction will be solved with upcoming patches.)
Solution: Establish a connection without any proxy in between.
E.g.: a terminal server in the same network
It would be helpful to find more people with the same problem to force a fix from SAP for that.
If anyone else is having problems with this, please add a comment to this thread.
Best regards

MSSQL Homogeneous System Copy : SAPINST cannot connect to default database
Hello.
We want to perform a homogeneous system copy, following Note 151603.
We have attached the source DB (RP1) to the destination DB (RD4) following the above mentioned Note.
Now, logged to the server as DOMAIN\rd4adm , we want to execute the SAPINST, as indicated in the Note 683447, but when giving the password for user rd4adm we get a pop up
Cannot connect to R3SVIL\RD4 [SQL Server]Cannot open user default database. Login failed.
R3SVIL is the server. Login is done with windows authentication (connected as domain\rd4adm)
We cannot find a Note descibing this issue and how to fix it, must be something with user : does anybody have suggestion or solution?
Thanks a lot,
DinoHi,
did you apply SAP note 551915 - R/3 won't start after database restore or database copy
also check Note 806925 - SQL Error 4064: Cannot open user default database

Itunes cannot connect to iTunes store error 306
Hi, I think I originally posted this on the wrong forum. So I will repost and hope for the best.
Up until recently I used to connect to the internet via airport and everything worked fine. I could connect to iTunes store no problem.
The connection was all set up by the local phone company and somehow they connected the iMac to airport via a modem.
I know that this appears to defeat the point of airport but it worked fine.
I had connection problems with the modem (it was old and needed replaced) that was attached to the airport and iMac. I arranged for the telephone company to come and replace the modem. However, although they replaced the modem and the internet connection is fine.
What they did not do was to reconnect the Airport device and now I cannot connect with iTunes store. Now instead of connecting to the internet via the Airport connection I now connect via Ethernet
The error message I get is
"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. An unknown error occured (306).
Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
I think that if someone could advise how I stop trying to connect to the iTunes store via Airport but via an Ethernet connection
iMac intel Mac OS X (10.6.6)iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054"
Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings ( http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1490 ) and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
Open iTunes.
Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Parental Controls tab.
Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.
For more information on parental controls or content filtering software, see iTunes 10.5 for Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store.

Laserjet Color MFP M276nw Cannot connect to Web Services, tried every suggestion on forum
I've tried every suggestion possible on the forum. I opened up all ports suggested by HP support on my Belkin wireless N600 router. Changed DMZ to IP address on printer. We even directly wired ethernet to printer, still cannot connect to Web Services. Now I have to wait till April 4 for a engineer to call me back. Everything else is working fine. I can print wirelessly from my laptop & smartphone. Just cannot access Web Services, oh & firmware is up to date on printer & router. We changed DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4.
This question was solved.
View Solution.It sounds like you have done everything to connect the web services. Web services will not connect if you are on a guest network but if you are connected via ethernet it should be on the right band. What is the printer's IP address? Sometimes it can be too high. Is this for a company that has a proxy on the network? How far away is the printer from the router? Are there any metal shelves, wireless devices or anything else near the printer or between the printer and the router? Check that the router is on Channel 11.
--Printer Does Not Connect To Web Services--
Have you heard back from the engineer? I am anxious to know how it went. I am happy to help if they don't, otherwise keep me posted on what happens. I possibly have one more step for you.
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.

Reporting Services server cannot connect
Hi,
I am trying to install the SAP BPC MS version and so far been hit with many issues. The latest issue is that the installer cannot connect to the Reporting Services server, in which from the installation documentation this should come as standard with MSSQL.
Any idea how to activate this manually?
Thanks.Hi,
In that case, I believe, the reporting service was not installed. When you are installing SQL server, you need to check the reporting services from the list. If thats not selected, then it wont be installed.
I guess, you have to run the installation once again. While doing the installation, please check the required services from the list, including reporting services.
Hope this helps. -
BPC 7.0 Server Installation Problem - Cannot connect to reporting services
I am upgrading from 5.1 to 7.0 version for SAP BPC. Everything went smooth on the development server (single instance installation including SQL Server 2005 developers edition 32bit, web, reporting and application services on the same server). I tried to repeat the same process on the test server, and the installation went off the rails. I started with clean installations of SQL Server 2005 on both servers.
When I try to install the BPC server software, I get to the point of access to the report server, and everything stops. I get the following message: Cannot connect to reporting services. I have verified the reporting server name, and I have verified that the server name is correct in the installation panel. I have also verified that the reporting server is configured, started, and that there are no errors.
Any advice?Hi Sorin,
Thanks for the tip, but this was not the case. The problem was solved by re-loading the OS. Using Windows Server 2003 gave an issue during the re-installation of the SQL Server database. The problem was in the installation itself. After a clean install of both the OS and SQL Server, then SAP BPC 7 worked. The installation does require a number of tweaks, particularly, in my case, the entire Management console must be configured, even if not being used.
This problem is now solved.
J.
