Cannot create serial genealogy in flow manufacturing

Question

When implementing flow manufacturing model for a car manufacturer, I found system couldn't build any serial genealogy between finish goods and sub-assemblies. But in car manufacturing industry, maintaining this information is very important and also mandatory. How to deal with this problem???

When you issue the material, in the serial entry form, you need to specify the serial number of the product/assembly to which this component serial will get assosiated.
You can use serial genealogy in Inventory module to track all the product serial - component serial association in hierarchial manner.
Exact navigation is Inventory -> On-hand, Availability -> Serial Numbers (then query the product serial number, use View Genealogy buton to explore the genealogy)

We had a similar requirment..we almost followed the same process..but after creating the job..I am not able to see that job in move transactions...
Created Bill and routing for FG item with predefined serial control..generated serial numbers later
it has only one operation and in that only resource
this bill has one purchased item which is serial control..so did generate serial numbers too..
After creating the job i went to serial numbers tab to associate serial number..I can see the LOV with all the serial
numbers generated for FG item..so select one..In the form it is showing as 1 serial number associated..
Then i went to move transaction...when i tab out after giving the job..it shows no invalid name for wip entity name..
In the discrete job form in the routing tab i can see serailization start operation is 10
In the operation tab within the DJ form i can see the quantity 1 is in the queue
Please let me know..how we can progress this further
