Cannot extend AffineTransformOp properly

Question

class MyAffineTransformOp extends AffineTransformOp {
public MyAffineTransformOp(AffineTransform xform, int interpolationType) {

public BufferedImage getFilter(BufferedImage src, BufferedImage dst) {
BufferedImage bi = this.filter(src, dst);
return bi;
}Then I refer to it from another class ...

BufferedImage bimgf1 = maop.getFilter(bimgf, bimgf1);The above is what I feel are relevant snippets to my problem (could be wrong). It compiles fine but I get an ImageIOException: Unable to transform src image when it runs.
Doing it the AffineTransformOp op = etc and then the BufferedImage bi = op.filter(bi, null) makes it work fine, but I want to know why the way I want to do it (above) doesn't work.

Your MyAffineTransformOp class seems completely pointless to me. All it does is rename the filter() method.
I would eliminate it and see what effect that has. It won't be any loss.
