Cannot Filled in Form to Excel

I am running Adobe X Standard.
I am trying to export a PDF form with fillable fields to excel.
I have tired serveral methods shown on the site.
Every time I get the form saved, the but data that was entered into the form is not exported to excel (or word) .
I have tried these approaches
File -> Save As -> Spreadsheet -> Excel
Highlight table
- Right click
- Copy with formatting
- Export selection as ->
Tools -> Forms -> more form options -> Manage Form Data -> Export Data (fail)
All of the above result in the form structure being saved, but none of the data that was entered
Tools -> Forms -> more form options -> Manage Form Data -> Merge data into Spreadsheet
This sees all of the data and creates a file, but all of the formatting is lost and the file is not usable.

You can flatten the fields first, which converts the field appearances to regular page contents. It should then be included when exported to XLS. You can do this with PDF Optimizer, Preflight, or JavaScript, but Standard does not include the first two and JavaScript is harder than it should be with Standard, but you can set up a temporary Bookmark and use the following JavaScript as the bookmark action:
// Bookmark action
flattenPages();
Or you can use the same code in the Mouse Up event of a button that you configure to not have a visible appearance.
If you need to do this a lot, you should get the following free JavaScript-based tool: http://www.uvsar.com/projects/acrobat/flattener/

  • Cannot fill in forms sent to me in PDF

recently loaded OS 10.5and iworks 8. Now I find that I cannot fill in forms sent to me by mail as a PDF attatchment.

If a PDF was actually produced as a full-featured form with editable fields, the free Adobe Reader and OS X’s own Preview let you fill in those fields. If it was a poor job of creating the form, those might not work. In those cases try FormulatePro. Though considered a beta by the developer, it seems to work just fine.

I cannot fill in forms online. How can I fix this?

Click the orange Firefox button and go to Options | Options | Privacy and checkmark "'''Remember Search & Form History'''".
Some sites use Flash objects for which you'll need Adobe Flash to be installed. You can download that from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  • Cannot Fill a form in 9.2.  Security setting is fill forms allowable.

I have a document filled that is time sensitive.  When I try to type, the I-Beam does not move.  I checked the security property settings it shows that filling of forms is allowed.

The security settings just tell you that if it were a fillable form, you would be allowed to fill it.
Choose the hand tool, mouse over a field. Does it change to an ibeam? If not, you need to print it out and fill it in by hand.

  • Cannot fill a form in Reader 9.x that was created using Professional 8.1.3

I created a form using Acrobat Professional 8.1.3 that our students must fill out using Acrobat Reader 9.x
My computer and the Reader 9.x computers have Windows XP installed.
The form opens in Reader 9, but none of the fields show. There are no drop down boxes or areas to type the info showing and the save option does not show. The form opens fine in Reader 8. Reader 9.x is the only version installed on the problem computers.

    Susan,
I'd be interested in looking at the file if you are free to email it to me.

  • I cannot fill out forms on a MacBook Pro

How do I fill out o form using Reader on a MacBook Pro running Mavericks?

When it is a fillable form open it in Adobe Reader and fill it.

  • Reader X - Cannot fill in form

We have a lot of forms that had been created to be fillable, all for these forms worked with no issue under previous versions of Reader.  However, since the upgrade to Reader X many of the fillable forms no longer work, they open in read only to prevent modifiation.  I have even uninstalled Reader X, gone back to Reader 9 and they work again, as a temporary solution this is great but Reader X is the required software.  Shy of purchasing Acrobat for 5000+ users how can this be fixed?

    Hi,
Please let me know if you are filling in the forms via a browser or via the application as such?
    Thanks

  • Cannot Fill In Form Using 10.1.3.23 IE Helper

I downloaded a form from Fidelity.com to complete a fill in the blanks opporation.  It works using Adobe Reader 9, but X would blank the first field when I tab to the second field.  This looks like a bug in the IE helper because I saved the PDF file and opened it with Reader X and it works fine.  I also occasionally get an error during the download of this same PDF file that the document is too complex.  My work around is to save the document and open it with stand alone Reader X.

  • Adobe Acrobat form created and emailed but recipient cannot save the form in reader after filling it out

When I purchased Acrobat today, the Adobe sales rep told me I could create fill-in forms that I could email to others, who could fill them out using Adobe Reader.  When the recipient tried to save the completed form, he was unable to save it to his computer, only able to print.  Is this correct, or is there a step we are unaware of?  He owns Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, but I'm using Acrobat 11 (purchased it today).  Acrobat Pro 9 cannot open the forms I sent...  now we are stuck.
    Solutions?

    Hi DMOliver,
Please try saving the form as 'Reader Extended' and check.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • How can I fill a pdf form with Excel?

I have a pdf form and a set of Excel dates. How can I fill the form with this dates?
Is there any way to transform excel dates into a fdf-File?
    Thank You for helping
    Hans

I see. That's possible, in theory, but it requires using a complicated custom-made script.
I would suggest using that Mail Merge option that's available in some versions of Excel to produce multiple single-page files, then flatten all of them (using an Action), and then merge them to a single file, to achieve the same result with much less effort.

  • Pdf forms in windows 8?  cannot fill image field

pdf forms in windows 8?  cannot fill image field

Our new Tablet version of Adobe Reader does not yet support form filling, but we are working on adding that. If you have an intel-based Windows 8 computer, you can use the full Desktop verison of Adobe Reader to fill forms.

  • Cannot fill in a fillable form, AR 9.3.3, Mac OS 10.6.2

Using a Mac with 10.6.2, just updated to Reader 9.3.3.
I have downloaded a PDF that is supposed to have filable form fields. The forms properties say the Filling of Form fields is allowed.
I can get my cursor to blink in each field but cannot get text to that field.
I have tried  PDF/A - Never, does not help.
    Appreciate some help.
    thanks,
    Rob

First, ignore that. It just says that IF there are fillable fields, you would be allowed to fill them in but doesn't mean they exist.

What tool do you have selected when you click those fields. You should have the hand tool selected. If you ave that selected and mouse over a field, what happens.
Also, if it were a fillable form, you should have gotten a message to that effect unless you have that message disabled.

  • Cannot send back acrobat fill-in form from a yahoo e-mail account

I have recently used acrobat pro fill-in forms and acrobat.com to send to recipients.  Some who have a yahoo e-mail account cannot return form to me because their computer says that there microsoft outlook isn't set up yet, but they do not use microsoft outlook, they use yahoo.com accounts.  Why is this happening and what can they do to send the forms back to me?  Anyone have any ideas?

Acrobat doesn't look for Outlook, I think, but for the Windows default email client. Millions of people don't set up this client, which is why I always advise that "submit by email" is no use except for testing and in certain corporate situations where the mail client is controlled.
This is why PDF forms, exactly like HTML forms, should always be submitted to a script on a web site (written by an experienced web programmer).
